Stories about Purposeful DadhoodMany men enter fatherhood feeling underequipped—not sure how best to invest in their children's lives. Unfortunately, good role models seem few and far between. That's why David Drury wrote Being Dad—to share memories of how his father invested in him and his brother and how those recollections have shaped his own perspective on being a dad.The brief, easy-to-read stories in Being Dad will not only cause you to think, they will give you concrete ideas for how you can be a dad who makes a positive difference in your children's lives.Be a dad on purpose!"Fathers need help. This book will provide it!"—Max Lucado, pastor and best-selling author
All dads need to be reminded to be a dad on purpose. This book does this in a wonderful and encouraging way. It would be a great "gift-book" for dads you may know.
This book is a very fun, accessible, look at what helps make a great father. Each story adds a piece to the picture or a good dad that Drury works to create. Each story adds a small piece of wisdom that the reader can apply as the reader sees fit. Drury does an excellent job of avoiding creating a one-size-fits-all approach, instead creating a picture of how his dad modeled excellent parenting to him, and asking how the reader can apply the lesson. The stories make it fun, while the clear lessons and application questions make the book more than just a nice remembrance of his dad. I really enjoyed this, and am encouraged to try to become a better father.
