Rate this book
The Detective Inspector Annie Jones books. (Books 5&6 Alec Ramsay Series) Desolate Sands and Concrete Evidence are the first books to feature Annie Jones.
DESOLATE SANDS
When well known community activist, Lacey Taylor goes missing whilst walking her dog, the police are at a loss to find any evidence as to where she is. A local man finds the collar, which belonged to her dog near Crosby Beach, home of the eerie Iron Men statues (Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place') and DI Annie Jones calls in the canine units to aid the search. What they find shocks even the most hardened detectives on her Major Investigation Team.

CONCRETE EVIDENCE
The Major Investigation Team are called when the body of a female is found. The victim has been brutally murdered in her bed but the body is unidentifiable. During the initial search, they discover that the house belongs to a serving police officer. It becomes obvious from the outset that the killer is trying to communicate a message. The clues lead the detectives to believe that they are looking for a serial killer who has left a trail of victims across three continents.

A great read but be warned don’t try it at bedtime! This is a twisted thriller with a plot that sends you shooting off in all directions & keeps you guessing until the end. This is my first Conrad Jones book & I can highly recommend it.

Annie Jones Box Set

Desolate Sands & Concrete Evidence were new to my reading. Every paragraph of every page kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down until I had finished them. My wife thought I was an alien or something. The last book Three I read as a separate book before . Each book is a terror and I could hardly believe that morning the things written are done to human beings in real life. Jackfire

Cannot recommend enough!

If you are a lover of gritty crime stories, Conrad Jones is definitely the author for you. All Jones's books are brilliantly written, and it is obvious a lot of time and effort has gone into researching both the world of law and criminal activity. Cannot recommend enough!

Wow

The three DI Annie Jones novels are action packed. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is some of the "action" is quite violent and you don't want to reading them late at night or if you are a bit squeamish. I enjoyed them

All three books are quite interesting, but a pity about the ending. It all seemed a bit rushed.

Needs to be read

All 3'books need to be read in sequence. As the story flows right through. A well-written trilogy. An interesting insight into the European mafia .
