The chemistry in this book was through the roof. Also every time a male point of view was on the page I was wanting more. Riley is the one of the toughest female characters out there. She does not care for entitled and sexist males and is willing to stand her ground. I absolutely adored her character and her commitment to fight back. I also liked each of the male characters. Personally Tank was my favorite because he became a cute cuddly teddy bear and I found that absolutely adorable. The book ends a bit abruptly and I was not ready for it to end to be honest. I can't believe I have to wait for book two.

Okay, I really enjoyed this one! I’m such a sucker for a good why choose, and this one definitely delivered. I loved the whole paranormal setup and the dynamic between the characters.

Riley, male or female
A delightfully light why choose, with slow, slow burn romance. No really any spice in this one. I do like the way Riley can actually defend herself, physically and with words. I don’t like 2 out 4 of the potential mates, but they are written that way - one too involved in his fathers drama, while the other just seems to want sex all the time (from anyone at first).

Holy cannoli, Batman — what did I just read?! 😱 Because I swear I just watched a movie, not read a book. I was so entranced I have to wonder if Lyra Mishon got her resident witch to slip a little spell into these pages, because there is NO way a book should be allowed to consume me this hard. 🔮✨
Riley — my scrappy, snarky, badass heroine — sets off on this insane & elaborate mission to track down her missing half-sister Lorna, and the plan is chef's kiss unhinged: infiltrate the ultra-elite, all-male Moonfall Academy in Europe... disguised as a boy... via a witch's glamour... courtesy of her fox shifter bestie Felix. 🦊🎭 I mean — COME ON. Iconic.
I will not talk about her screwup of a mother because, quite frankly, she is not worth my time. (Kudos to the Author for making me hate a fictitious character)
Once inside, we get a killer supporting cast: a pride of fierce lioness shifters 🦁 and a humble snake shifter 🐍 (yes please, more of him). But being a half-breed means Riley's an outsider from day one, and that underdog arc just made me root for her even harder. 💔
And can we talk about the men?? 🔥🔥🔥 Because Riley is absolutely drowning in devastatingly

❤️ World Building: The world building was done beautifully, there was enough to give you the feel of the environment, but was bogged down with too much detail. It’s in the same world as Starfall Academy series, but explores a different aspect of that world.
❤️ The Characters: Riley was amazing, she’s brave to hide in an all male school, but she also holds onto her femininity. The guys all have different personalities and different approaches to their wolf’s attraction to her. I love the female shifters group that Riley joins as well, and the name they choose for the group is priceless!
❤️ The Story: I keep pointing out that it’s a fun read, but I don’t want to dissuade anyone from thinking that there is no main plot or that it’s all about the spice because it’s not! The plot is still there and the situations are serious at times…but it’s still so fun to read!
❤️🔥Overall: If you read the Starfall Academy series, and even if you didn’t, I think you’ll really enjoy this book.

I didn’t really get it from the start. So FMC decides to go to Moonfall Academy to get answers on her sister’s disappearance but it’s an all male shifter school. Her sister did not go there nor the all female equivalent. She assumes her sister attended parties and met with some men from there so then is all like yep that must be it. Her sister was staying in Trinity Falls close so surely that would be a better place to start the ‘investigation’ than a school she couldn’t attend. She also has no money, like at all, can’t even afford food but can take a flight from America to Europe? Again no explanation to how that happened. She also used up her supposed best friends magical favour to disguise herself but also had to cut her hair … so why does the glamour not include that. Just too many non-issues for it to make much sense. I DNF’d after chapter 10. Her ‘mates’ also said she didn’t smell male or have the build so again what did the spell actually do …
Anyway you might love it but I didn’t.

Gripping start to this new series of Mishon’s!
Our FMC Riley is determined to find it what’s happened to her missing sister, which leads her to disguise herself at an all male school- which certainly brings some amusing interactions 😅 There’s three male wolf shifters and a lion professor who can’t quite work out their attraction to Riley Scott which is throwing them for a loop - the three wolves are pretty distinct characters wise from each other despite similar names; they just didn’t really have a lot of background for me to truly understand them - similar for our professor so hoping we learn more about them as the series progress. The pacing is good throughout with a mix of the seggsual tension and plot drama surrounding the search for her sister 👍 spice is right towards the end which fits the story 🌶️ I’m intrigued enough to read the next book 🙂

If it’s a supernatural, why choose romance and Lyra Mishon writes it, I am whipping through it and gobbling it right up. This was no exception to that.
The concept here is well executed. Riley’s half sister has gone missing and she is trying to find her and find out what happened. This leads her and her best friend Felix to get her enrolled into Moonfall academy to see if she can get some answers. The issue? This academy is for male shifters so she has to disguise herself as a male while going undercover as a student. The other problem? Most of the full blooded shifters look down upon hybrid shifters and that is what our FMC is.
The banter in her books is top notch and the classic, hilarious and super flirty MMC is here in full force. Tobias will have you giggling and rooting for him from the time we meet him right through the whole book. He is such a sweetheart and you can tell he cares for our FMC even though he has no idea she is really a girl.
You’ve got your strong, steady support in her teacher, Hunter who also helps her work on her self defence skills and of course, while it is nothing new, is sooo good. He is very patient and skilled and with his one on one help, she learns a fair bit more than what she had before. He absolutely hates bullies and helps defend her when he can.
Tank is the broody character that everyone is afraid of and is rumored to be feral. He is actually such a sweetheart and the way that he has rescued and cared for her several times when she was unable to protect herself has you absolutely melting for him. When he loses control, nobody has ever been able to get through to him, but of course, our FMC can and she loves his wolf and shows that whenever they’re together.
I love the friendships that Riley makes both with her snake shifter friend and her group of girl friends who are super supportive and accept her completely. As she did not have many friends and was bullied a lot, seeing her build these relationships was super nice to see. She is an absolute sweetheart and it’s nice to see people recognize that and not judge her just for her bloodline and what she is.
The cliffhanger is definitely keeping us on our toes and I have no idea how Tate thinks they can undo what happens but I guess we will see what happens when that confrontation eventually happens. I am 99% sure I know who is behind the missing shifters but it looks like I’ll need to wait for the next books to be released to see if I’m right.

Riley's a human-wolf hybrid who goes undercover at an all boys shifter academy (glamored by a witch to appear male) to find out what happened to her missing sister. She's strong and sassy but doesn't think she's worthy of the full-blooded alpha mates around her. She genuinely thinks her own inner wolf is being delusional about them, and that gave her a little more depth than the usual confident FMC.
She hasn't fully fallen for the MMCs yet, as she's still able to walk away, but the mate pull is clearly hard for her to resist. The MMCs are just as thrown, confused by how drawn they are to who they think is a male hybrid shifter. It still reads a little insta-lovey with how fast that pull hits, and I wish there was more enemies to lovers or yearning stretched out first.
Overall, it’s still a quick fun read. Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC!

This is the second series I'm reading by Lyra Mishon, and I really enjoy her writing style. Paranormal why-choose with all the banter, yes, please! It's easy and fun to read. I like her unique take on this particular shifter world she created set in the modern day. It's interesting, easy to imagine, and get into with a variety of fun paranormal characters. I liked all the different shifter society dynamics.
Riley, our FMC, had me invested in her story from the start. She's feisty and resourceful and is not going to take anything lying down.
As she's trying to solve the mystery of her sister's disappearance, she ends up going to the last place her sister lived and disgueses herself as a male to join an all-male academy. What could possibly go wrong? In trying to blend in with her hidden identity undercover she makes some friends, some of them protective alphas (*waggles eyebrows*) and of course she also makes some enemies along the way those pesky bullies and overall general a-holes. These obssesed shifters won't know what hit them when they find out what she's been hiding... *giggles uncontrollably*

Smacked in the face with two back to back cliffhangers from two different books wasn't really how I planned to spend my last couple of nights. But this plan did not go according to plan.
Wolf Unseen was so good! I loved that the FMC wants to find her friend and that she goes out of her way to do so. Including enrolling at an all man school, I mean we can all see where this is going! Buuutttt I really loved that the FMC stayed true to herself and the mission she was on to find her sister. It was so much fun to see how she responded to all the MMCs and franking all the other characters around her. I had so much fun reading this book! I also really enjoyed that she is making the MMCs work for it and doesn't fall right into their arms.

Wolf Unseen was so good! I loved that the FMC wants to find her friend and that she goes out of her way to do so. Including enrolling at an all man school, I mean we can all see where this is going! Buuutttt I really loved that the FMC stayed true to herself and the mission she was on to find her sister. It was so much fun to see how she responded to all the MMCs and franking all the other characters around her. I had so much fun reading this book! I also really enjoyed that she is making the MMCs work for it and doesn't fall right into their arms.

Wolf Unseen is book 1 of The Moonfall Academy series and it did not disappoint! We start out with Riley who hasn't had the best time with being half human and half wolf hybrid plus her mom is not great either. She meets with her half sister she just found out about, but then the sister goes missing so she concocts the plan of attending an all male academy disguised as male.
So many shenanigans occur and it's fun to see a different side of this
shifterverse. So many well written characters where the slow burn is sizzling and knowing Lyra Mishon, it will get spicier as the series evolves. The pacing is well done too leading up to the cliffhanger ending. The chemistry between Riley and the guys is so good and I love that she's such a firecracker! The guys; Tate, Tobias, Tank, and Leone/Hunter, are well written too. It will be interesting to learn more of their back stories and find out how or if they are connected with Riley's sister's disappearance.
I can't wait until the rest of the books for this series are out, which doesn't appear will be a super long time and is super impressive!
In the meantime, you should check out Starfall Academy which is a completed series in the same universe. This story takes place on the opposite side of the world, but there are mentions of ongoing things that tie these series together. Also, bonus is that Starfall Academy's completed series is now out in audiobook AND it's duet narration with the talented Alyssa Poon and Evan Jordan who make it seem like way more than 2 people narrating.

I am absolutely eager to read the second book, especially with the spicy ending with a surprise reveal. I am also kind of a sucker for apex predator/naughty puppy. Love it!

This was an Arc Book:
I overall enjoyed the book but there were a few things that turned me off. For starters, when multiple words kept being repeated it becomes redundant at that point. I know the author was trying to portray characters to be a certain type, it just fell short for me. I do however like where the story line is going. I haven’t gotten any exciting plot twists yet, so I’m hoping maybe in the next book there will be. I wonder how Riley is going to explain her fake mask to her fated mates! Things are about to get interesting.

Okay… this one had me falling headfirst into the paranormal romance chaos. 🐺🔥
Wolf Unseen by Lyra Mishon was such a fun read! I loved the why choose setup, the paranormal atmosphere, and the delicious tension between the characters. There’s something about wolves, secrets, danger, and multiple love interests that makes for one very addictive combination. 🌙🖤
The romance kept me hooked, and I really enjoyed watching the relationships develop throughout the story. Each character brought their own energy to the mix, which made the dynamics especially entertaining. There was plenty of chemistry, tension, and those moments that had me thinking, ohhh, this is going to get interesting. 👀🔥
The paranormal elements added an extra layer of intrigue, while the romance remained at the heart of the story. It had that perfect “just one more chapter” quality that somehow turns into why am I still reading at 2am? 😂📖
Overall, Wolf Unseen was an enjoyable paranormal why-choose romance with plenty of wolfy vibes, romance, tension, and spicy moments to keep me turning the pages. 🐺🌙

Well that was long winded and quite frankly pointless.
Nothing significant happened. It wasn't humorous, it wasn't romantic, it wasn't edgy, it wasn't action packed. If the book had been slightly bigger, it would have been a lovely door stop. Also, come on now that ending got us back to zero.
I started questioning this book from the get go but decided to give it a chance. Was any of this necessary, NO. Riley barely does what she is there to do. The focus is on her eating and being a boy.
I want my time back.

As someone who doesn’t read shifter romances, I had so much fun with Wolf Unseen! So much so that I will be preordering Alpha Fates! Our FMC Riley - a hybrid wolf shifter - joins an all boys magical shifter school to look for her missing sister. Watching our fierce, badass Riley deal with her cohorts(who are super hybrid racist btw), felt like a fresh way to explore a why choose story. I was curious how our author Lyra would handle the MMC’s appearing to fancy a male student and I enjoyed how this played out. It had me giggling out loud and felt unique to the genre.
The slow burn was everything I needed it to be. As someone who reads a lot of why choose, it’s easy for the relationships to feel forced. The slow burn gives her MMC’s individual time with her which felt more realistic - you know, realism is something I look for in my magical shifter romances 🫠 it also amped up our Riley to her stubborn little wolf status (dare I say bratty?), delivered in peak banter with lots of giggling on my end!
The female friendships were especially cute and I’m already excited to see this progress in the next book! A why choose book that passes the Bechdel test????? Sign me up forever!
This book nailed the pacing, I finished it in two days because I had trouble putting it down.

3.75 ⭐️/1.5 🌶️—Girl dressing as a boy is one of my favorite tropes, so I was excited to read this ARC. The strength of the story is its characters. They’re likable and have personalities different enough to be interesting. The plot is perhaps not as rounded out, but the action is enough that the weaker elements of the world building aren’t too disappointing. There was one thing that annoyed me, however. There is a focus on the “shifter mafia” and the reference and lack of information on what this means was frustrating. Are there rival shifter gangs? Is it like the mob? Is it one huge syndicate? I would have loved more details since this seems to be important to the plot and, as it is, it’s too nonspecific for me to feel substantially invested. (I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily)

Wolf Unseen is a why choose shifter romance that feels so much like the movie, She's the Man. It's fun, it's slightly ridiculous, but I could not put this down. Nearly all of the males who are to be her romantic interests have T names which made it kind of confusing for me to keep track of who exactly Tate, Tank, and Tobias were. I get that this was necessary for plot things, to move the mystery of the man with her missing sister, but it definitely made for a confusing read at times. I wish the ending gave us more answers. I feel like this book focused so much on the romance (which I loved), but it felt like the search for her sister kind of fell off at the end. Still a very fun read! Thanks Netgalley for the e-ARC!

TL;DR: Wolf Unseen is giving paranormal Mulan vibes, but is ultimately a frustrating read. Riley uses a witch's glamour to disguise herself as a boy to infiltrate Moonfall Academy, an elite all-male shifter school in Europe, to find her missing half-sister. The premise had so much potential for tension and angst, but the execution falls flat due to gaping plot holes, a lack of deductive reasoning from everyone, and lazy worldbuilding. It feels like a rough draft that needed a heavy developmental edit.

Wolf Unseen is one of my favourite books this year and I devoured it in 2 days. I’m so excited for Riley’s story to continue in the next books, there is so much mystery surrounding Riley, with the author doing so much by just highlighting how what the characters believe to be true vs what is actually happening. You just KNOW there is more going on than what is what the characters know. ‘Magical Academy’ and ‘Girl Disguised as a Guy’ are two of my favourite tropes and Lyra has definitely done them justice in this story. There was a lot of very good worldbuilding with just enough left unsaid that it added to mystery of Riley, the MMCs, and what happened to Riley’s sister.
I want to be clear that I am only giving it four stars because I only give 5 stars very rarely, for truly stand out books. I loved all the MCs, and they all felt very distinct. That being said the MMCs are particularly dense when it comes to Riley’s identity which can be both a con or pro depending on your preferences. I personally was both incredibly frustrated by it but also found it absolutely hilarious how everyone kept dismissing the obvious answer despite magic and glamours being common knowledge. I also had issues with the portrayal of some female side characters relying very heavily on stereotypical jealous slutty mean girl cliches (*cough* Roxy and Camilla *cough*). Riley’s sidekick Felix is a little two dimensional and I found it strange the extent to which he went to help/enable her on her quest to find her sister despite him seeming not to have much faith in its success. As much as he was a fun character, it’s clear he’s there as a plot device.
All in all, this is a great book if you love big dumb (but generally well-meaning) MMCs, overly loyal and reckless FMCs, and magical academy reverse harems.

pulls a Mulan and goes undercover as a male half-shifter at Moonfall, the elite male shifter academy. Whilst trying to investigate her sister’s disappearance, she also is struggling to ignore several mate bonds with males who might know more about what happened to her sister… Oh yeah, whilst also presenting as a male and majorly throwing a couple straight mates into a bi-panic.
The Good:
The story is a quick, easy, entertaining read and I am really looking forward to reading book two. I really enjoyed getting the frequent POV’s from the males; it kept things interesting and gave us more insight into their characters.
The Not So Good:
Some of the dialogue felt unnatural, especially with how Riley interacted with the cat shifters. Also, I felt like Riley’s character felt forced sometimes and not very realistic, but that just might be how I’m interpreting her.
In summation, I really enjoyed this and it pulled me out of my reading slump.
Honestly, the last couple chapters were the best part, in my opinion, and the

First of all, I’d like to thank Lyra Mishon for the opportunity to receive an ARC of this book. When I say I devoured this book in less than a day, I mean DEVOURED. Interestingly, Mulan isn't one of my favorite Disney princesses, but give me a book with that theme, and I’m instantly hooked.
This book is out today, and if you were still unsure about buying it—what are you waiting for? In Wolf Unseen, you’ll find a FMC who refuses to be dominated or intimidated, male love interests who are confused by the academy's new "male" student yet can't help but become increasingly obsessed with him (what did we expect? They’re guys, haha)—plus an unsolved mystery and so much more to discover when you read it.
I want to highlight the great pacing Lyra achieves between chapters in this first Moonfall Academy book; she grabs your attention right from the start and holds it until the end (which is essential). Sometimes authors focus too much on potentially unnecessary details and end up neglecting important aspects of the story. That’s not the case with Lyra Mishon. First of all, I’d like to thank Lyra Mishon for the opportunity to receive an ARC of this book. When I say I devoured this book in less than a day, I mean DEVOURED. Interestingly, Mulan isn't one of my favorite Disney princesses, but give me a book with that theme, and I’m instantly hooked.
This book is out today, and if you were still unsure about buying it—what are you waiting for? In Wolf Unseen, you’ll find a FMC who refuses to be dominated or intimidated, male love interests who are confused by the academy's new "male" student yet can't help but become increasingly obsessed with him (what did we expect? They’re guys, haha)—plus an unsolved mystery and so much more to discover when you read it.
I want to highlight the great pacing Lyra achieves between chapters in this first Moonfall Academy book; she grabs your attention right from the start and holds it until the end (which is essential). Sometimes authors focus too much on potentially unnecessary details and end up neglecting important aspects of the story. That’s not the case with Lyra Mishon. NGL I did not pay attention when I signed up for the arc. I saw the post on tiktok with the tropes and just dove head first. Which means I did not realize it was the first in a series til after I finished signing up. I usually don't read incomplete series bc I have rage issues with cliff hangers and my poor phone would like to stay in my hand lol. This DOES end on one but it's not like a horrible one that makes you want to throw your phone lol
I may want to cry it's over and have to wait for the second book but it is a liveable cliff hanger that I'm very happy with. The bonus helped me a bit too.
I LOVE Tank so much. I love Tobias also but Tank is definitely my favorite at the moment. I'm kinda sad there wasn't a secret reveal to either of them in this book. I hope when that happens they aren't too angry with her because I have a feeling she will need both of them so much in the future.
I do wish she would listen to and trust her wolf more. But I understand it since it explains how her wolf has always been, I'd probably question her like Riley is also.
In all I am so happy that I chose this book to be my second arc read. I will be reading this authors other books soon. Gotta get my fix while waiting for the second book haha
To the author, I know you said it was scarey to release this book because you were worried about it coming after the others, but I am so glad you took the chance to write it. I enjoyed reading it so much. I am one to read/listen to multiple books at a time but with this book it was the only book I was reading. Only break I took was on a long drive I turned on an audiobook, but as soon as I arrived I jumped right back into finishing this book. I am so excited to go read your other works. Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us.

This was such a fun and refreshingly different take on the paranormal romantasy/enemies-to-lovers trope! What really grabbed me was the unique “girl in a boy’s body” aspect. It added a whole new layer to the typical enemies-to-lovers dynamic and made the character interactions so much more interesting.
And the banter? AMAZING. 😂 I absolutely loved the back-and-forth between the characters. It had just the right amount of sass, tension and humour to keep me thoroughly entertained.
I also have to mention the kitty cats because I adored them! 🐈⬛🐈 They were such a fun addition and honestly felt like characters in their own right. I just wish we had gotten to learn more about them because I have QUESTIONS. 😂
My biggest criticism was the world-building. I think the author missed an opportunity to really dig into the paranormal world and make it feel bigger, richer and more immersive. I wanted more about the history, the rules, the supernatural elements and how everything fits together. There was clearly a fascinating world underneath the story, and I wanted more of it!
And now I have the very serious problem of not knowing which MMC I would choose. 🤦♀️ Usually I have a favourite figured out pretty quickly, but nope. Apparently I'm going to need the next book to provide additional evidence before I can make this extremely important life decision. 😂
So yes... I cannot wait for the next book. Maybe by then I'll finally know which MMC gets my vote. Maybe. 🫣

Wolf Unseen is the first in Lyra Mishon’s new paranormal romance series, Moonfall Academy. It’s set in the same world as her previous series Starfall Academy, but I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything reading it as a stand-alome. Riley is a hybrid - half human and half wolf shifter. She’s ostracised by both communities, and stays far away from the shifter world until her sister goes missing. The last clues she can find point towards Moonfall Academy, an elite school for male shifters. The school is brutal even for full shifter males, and even with a glamour to make her appear male Riley is at a severe disadvantage as a skinny hybrid with an uncooperative wolf. If things aren’t complicated enough, her latent wolf starts getting excited around four very powerful, and very dangerous, alphas.
I enjoyed Riley’s sassy attitude, and the way that she navigated the new overly masculine (and smelly) environment at Moonfall Academy. Her interactions with her potential mates are just enough to hint at the romance that’s in store in the next books in the series. I can’t wait to see what happens next, once Riley’s secret starts getting harder and harder to hide.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and recommend it to anyone who likes a good paranormal shifter romance in an academy setting. Although it included some well known tropes, it did it in a way that was engaging and fast-paced enough to make me want to read more, with evocative world building that brought the settings to life. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the next book in this series, and while I’m waiting I might go back to read the Starfall Academy series.
