Needing Her is book one of The Kensingtons, a romantic suspense series.

Although it features characters from The Jade Series, you do NOT have to read that series in order to read this one. The Kensingtons is a story that stands on its own, covering the complicated and dangerous life of billionaire Pearce Kensington, and his efforts to keep that life hidden from Rachel, the only woman he's ever loved.

If you read The Jade Series, this series will give you the part of the story that was never told before. There will be twists and turns that will surprise, or even shock you! Pearce wasn’t aware of all the lies and deception going on around him. There was a lot going on behind the scenes, and other characters were pulling the strings to get the outcomes they desired. Pearce had some secrets of his own that he never revealed to his son, including the crucial role he played in Jade’s life years ago.

The Kensingtons is a love story that will take you on a wild ride of ups and downs, highs and lows, always wondering who's good and who's bad and who can be trusted. Because in Pearce's world, there are few people you can trust.

It was ok. That is all. I think Rachel is beyond naive and Pearce is such a child for not standing up to anyone at all about anything. Even when he did stand up to his dad it was meh. Like GROW A PAIR ALREADY! You're a billionaire. Change your identity, get facial reconstruction or something lol...just so you can leave your old life behind. I mean seriously, you're a billionaire you can buy some uncharted island and move you two there haha...

Amazing!!!! I loved reading this book and i cannot wait for more. You get to see a side of Pearce that you have never seen before and Rachel is perfect. Also, if you read the Jade Series, you will see the connection between Rachel and Garret. It sucks if you read the Jade series because you know how this ends and you are just waiting for the inevitable to happen. but overall i loved the book and can't wait for the next one.

This was not what I expected after reading that interesting blurb.

The story was good but there were too many details that made it kind of boring. I didn't feel any connection with the characters and I couldn't enjoy the book.

Pearce Kensington's life is planned out, not by his choice but the choice of a secret group he belongs to. He never had a choice, he was born into it. When he meets Rachel something awakens in the man who has had everything arranged down to who he can sleep with and what his role is.

Rachel is intrigued by Pearce, she doesn't have a lot of experience with the dating scene and doesn't even seem to realize her own beauty. Pearce knows the group will find out and stop what is happening, but he has a plan to keep Rachel by his side and protected.

Interesting story, I had not realized it was part of a 4 part series about Pearce and Rachel though. I liked this quite a bit and found myself fascinated by Pearce, he is a unique character. Would pick up the rest of the series for sure.

alicja i’m really sorry,, don’t look

ummmmmmm there's a few reasons for this low review. first, it felt like we were told lots of completely obvious or completely unnecessary information (such as why rachel calls 'soda' 'pop', and how shelby forgot the hotdogs at one point,, like why do I care?!). also I found the writing kind of jarring at times, it could be quite longwinded and idk I just found the entire story pretty ridiculous.

again, i'm sorry alicja

Read the Jade series first. i really wanted to enjoy this book, i don't know if my expectation was too high but i can't quite put my finger on whats wrong.

Some parts are incredibly funny and sensitive but its written from POV, Pearce and Rachel.

You spend a lot of time in their heads which is good because we need that with Pearce but i found it a little repetitive when we changed POV.

Plenty of background is given, the organisation, Royce, Rachel's past and family. Knowing how it ends or how we are led to believe it ends, he really should have left her alone. :(

I did enjoy but i just wanted it to flow better somehow. Sorry!.

Wow!!!!

I wish Rachel never die. She is such a beautiful person. Will I think pearce father and mother are the most disturbing and disrespectful people. Pearcehad to deal with so much hurt and disrespect from his family, it felt so sad for him. He never had a voice. Wow. What can I say Allie Everhart did great job yet again.

Flat

The characters in this book are so flat and dull I swear I can hear them talking in monotone. The secret businessmen who run the world are not very interesting or very powerful.

It was an interesting storyline but too boring... DNF at 50%.
So I ended up deciding continuing to finish reading the book 2 days after I gave up on it. I still only give 2 stars.

I fell in love with Pearce in the Jade series, so when I found out Pearce has his own series I just had to read it. Even though, the Jade series already tells you a lot about how this series might end/what happens. I think you should step in this story with a clean slate. This story tells us about the beginning of Rachel and Pearce their story. What I love most about the Jade series and this book is the mystery and secret societies. We learn so much more about the organization and what made Pearce act the way he does. It was nice to read about Rachel and Pearce falling in love. They definitely had their romantic and swoon worthy moments. Especially recommending this series to lovers of the Jade series!

READ IT! READ IT! READ IT!!!
GO READ THIS BOOK!!!!

It truly deserves more credit.

The plot....The storyline....the characters ....AMAZING.

I'm not one to finish all books in a continuous story but I wanted more.

I read Kingston left book 4 .... moved onto Jade then back to finish book 4 and wanted a little more, so finished off with Lilly.

Really support Allie Everhart and get these books.

Great story

I waited until I read all 4 books until reviewing them all. Think the double life story was brilliant. Could feel myself getting angry at the members several times! I recommend them all!! Was quite a few spelling errors but the story was that good I just didn’t care

**I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways**

The moral of my review below is READ THE JADE SERIES FIRST!!!!!

This is a new author for me so I was very excited to win this book as it seemed right up my alley. However, (and this is a big however) I think listing it as "The Kensington's #1" is misleading. I think it should also list it as "Jade #9". I was halfway through the book before I realized the characters were the parents of the H in the 8 book Jade series. I found this out when I looked up the book site on Goodreads as I was curious as to why this was set in the early '90's. There was no explanation in the blurb so I peeked at the reviews to see what was up. This is where I learned that not only is this not really a "new" series but right there, in my face, was a big huge unhidden freaking spoiler that pretty much ruined everything for me. (On the other hand it probably also saved me from a nervous breakdown.) If I had read the first three books in this series without knowing about the first 8 in the other I would have been seriously pissed off. Someone said you could read the first three of this one then jump back to the 8 Jade books then jump back to the forth one in this series. I strongly discourage that. If I read what happened at the end of the third book then had to wade through 8 books to get to the conclusion of what happened with Pearce and Rachel my head would have come off. And seriously (See how I put that spoiler link there? That's how it's done people. It's not rocket science.) Use a link if you are going to post a spoiler like oh I just wish I had known about this series connection with the Jade one. This whole situation was a disappointment to me. I do think though that if I had read the Jade series first I would have loved this set of "prequels". It really needs to be clear somewhere on the Goodreads site or the blurb how this series ties in with the other. I don't care what anyone else says - the Jade series REALLY needs to be read first. I think I'll give myself a little time to shake off my irritation and then maybe pick up the Jade books as, from what I understand, it's a great series . I just really really wish I had read them before trying this one.

Pearce Kensington, to 25-letni miliarder i człowiek sukcesu, syn despotycznego dyrektora i właściciela Kensington Chemical, od urodzenia członek tajnej, potężnej organizacji Dunamis.

Needing Her is such a great book! It was hard to down because I was sucked into the story from the first page. Pearce and Rachel are such great characters; they are complex and compliment each other in a beautiful way. I am so excited for this series, and can't wait to see how Rachel and Pearce's story unfolds!! So, if you haven't read the Jade series please stop reading here. This is a great story and I don't want to spoil it for you.

Since I've read the Jade series it feels a little bittersweet, because I know what will eventually happen to Rachel. I feel that I am setting myself up to be devastated big time. I love Rachel so much and I just want her and Pearce to be happy. *weeps* Rachel is sweet, caring, and loves to see the good in people, but at the same time isn't afraid to stand up for herself. Pearce is so sweet and thoughtful and everything I didn't expect from him. I love him even more now than before. Pearce and Rachel have this amazing connection, their chemistry was off the charts. There were certain scenes that I have to fan myself just to get through because they were so steamy.

I can't say enough how much I loved this story and how invested I am in the characters. Although, I must say that there were some areas that dragged a little, because there was a lot of information being given about the organization and the characters. If you haven't read the Jade series the information is necessary, but if you have it's a little redundant. There is however definitely information in this book that we didn't get in the other series. I loved being able to see so many of the characters that I'm all ready familiar with from the Jade series. All in all Needing Her is a great read! I can't wait to see what's next for Pearce and Rachel in Keeping Her.

It was insane to read this. After the whole series with Jade and Garret it was so strange to read about Pearce when he met Rachel. It was also very hard knowing in advance what happens. But the hardest part for me to reconcile was this Pearce and the one in the first Jade book. The similarities between he and Garret were hugely this, but the similarities between he and Harlon were awful. But it really shows why he was/is the way he was/is.

Anyhow, if you haven't read the Jade series, I think I would wait until this one is finished and then read it after. This book was good. Pearce was very clinical, but that's how he was, so it makes sense. We learned so much more about his world and his parents and the organization (shudder to them all!). The interactions and information about Royce and Katherine were so interesting. I didn't see any of that coming. Overall I am completely sucked in and I loved it. Rachel is amazing! She really is so different from anyone we've read about in this series because of how trusting and sweet and kind she is toward everyone. I think my favorite part was the hug part though, it was so sweet and such a great flash forward to Garret and Jade- I just loved that. Also, there were a ton of similarities between Jade and Pearce that I never realized were there. Great book!! I wish the next one was out already!

3.5 -- This book definitly intrigued me. I'm not sure I really loved the style of writing. Even though some of the other reviews I read didn't really like the whole billionaire secret society thing, I actually liked that part. Pierce was way to stiff for me, I mean I understand he had a different upbringing but sometimes it was so boring just reading his parts in the book. Rachel was just OK. I mean she wasn't this amazing charactor but I didn't dislike her. Although I wanted to keep reading this series, I was beyond annoyed when I read a review and they didn't hide what they wrote because it was a HUGE spoiler, ugh! I'm oviously not going to say what the spoiler was, that would just be rude of me. I had no clue this series was the before of the Jade series. I had already read the first book to the Jade series. I'm just not sure I wan't to continue with this or not. I would recommed the book though.

Also it would be nice if people would hide their comments when it's something that could ruin the book for the rest of the readers!!!

Absolutely amazing. Incredibly beautiful. By far truly one of the best books I've read for the year thus far.

It was easy to fall in love with Pearce & Rachel's story. I loved the drama, the suspense and the intrigue of it all. Truly can't wait to see how it plays out for them. Will Pearce ever be able to be 100% honest with Rachel? How will she react when she finds out about that other side of him? Can someone live both sides of themselves separately without the two ever intersecting? These are the questions I'm left pondering at the end of book 1.

Kudos to the author for "striking gold" with this one. It was truly remarkable and deserving of 5 stars and more.
