Blair is half witch and half vampire. She lives with a coven of witches and hasn't had any contact with her vampire heritage. Blair is living the perfect life until one day, everything crashes down around her. She is forced to leave everything she knows and loves, and must go on the run to save her life.
4 authors will each take a different daughter born from the Prince of Darkness, Vlad Montour. (Also known as Vlad the Impaler, an evil villain from history)
Chrissy Peebles, a practicing nurse, has always loved reading and writing fantasy from the earliest age she can remember. She plotted every single twist she could think of during bedtime stories for her children. When her little ones begged for more adventures, she felt confident enough to let her overeager imagination and sense of humor spill out into her first novel. She lives in Ohio with her husband, two young kids, one hamster, three dwarf hamsters and cat. When she's not taking the kids to Little League soccer, basketball, or baseball, she loves to snap photos as her favorite hobby.
This was an excellent beginning to Blair’s story. I could never stop reading her story after this beginning. I have a feeling this sweet yet very powerful girl, is going to do a lot of changing. Suppose it’s necessary when you have a bounty put out on your life. Like I said above she’s a sweet person and has no idea why anyone would want her dead. Her world has changed completely within a couple days. Now too start her next book, there are three books about Blair’s story.
Meh. Not awful, but not very good either. For someone who is supposed to be damn near 100 years old, she's pretty naïve and borderline stupid. Ended on a ridiculous cliffhanger, observe: The next thing I knew, I was up in his arms. "What is it they say in the movies? Ah yes." He flashed me a devastating smile as he stepped over a severed arm. "Come with me if you want to live."
This is the 3rd book I've read from the Daughters of Darkness series, and I can say for sure that Blair is my favourite sister by far.
I did enjoy this book very much. My copy had both the prequel and book one together, and I think that really helped me enjoy the story much more because if I had had only one of those I don't think I would've liked it as much. The prequel was interesting (and, oh my, steamy) and gave me the chance to get to know Blair a lot better. Book one, on the other hand, just jumps into action after giving a very brief info dump of what's going on.
Now, having both books was not perfect, for I did find some odd things (and odd grammar at some points--though the narration is also the best one so far). For example, in the prequel, Blair lives in New York. In book one, she lives in Salem, with no explanation of how she got there and no mention of New York whatsoever.
While not perfect, this is probably my favourite book of the series, and until now I had thought that I would keep going with each of the sister's series, but now I think I'll follow only the ones that I like (cough Blair cough).
Blair is book 1 in the Daughters of Darkness series, each book written by a different author. Blair is written by Chrissy Peebles who excels in smooth dialogue, character development, and world building. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story as Blair learns just what type of people she's aligned with in her coven. As a 1/2 witch 1/2 vampire hybrid, her coven has always treated her a bit differently. Her only saving grace was her aunt, who has since passed away. When the coven, and her boyfriend Tony, flat out turn against her she must flee everything and everyone she's ever known. She's now in a race of survival.
The story is fresh and exciting full of betrayal and self preservation. I was engaged in the story from the beginning. The author did a great job describing the setting and I was able to picture it in my mind. The novella was exciting and I'm glad I had the opportunity to read Blair.
This was a pleasant surprise from this author. There was one person that I really liked even though I didn’t get that much time with him; Tristian Gale. When he came in and started interacting with Blair, I instantly fell in love with him and I hated that the book ended right when it was getting interesting.
The writing was alright, if I had gone on to the second book I feel like it would just keep getting better. I don’t know how this is the same author who wrote Crush but she knows how to make an interesting character, though right now it’s just one.
The cover, I would be excited about reading it, it’s just a big face with some pretty detail around it. The pace is fine, I just wish that it was longer so that the readers could get some more time with Tristan and I also wish that the other characters were written as well as him.
I am very disappointed with this so called book. The first few pages which are supposed to be book one starts out with its main character named Blair. Half witch half vampire , and total Ninny. She goes through life without a clue. She trust everyone and everything (paranormal and human ) so yeah she's always putting herself in dangerous situations. I guess it's her gullibility that keeps her alive. Then there's the 2nd. Part or book 2. Written by different author or should I say told by a different character using the story the first author wrote. And at the end of the couple of pages written by the other author, miss May adds a few ramblings of her own. Confused yet??? The rest is full of advertising for other books. 😶
Wow! I really enjoyed this. Totally different from anything I have ever read before. This book is about a woman named Blair is a half vampire who's dad was Vlad the impaler her dad placed a bounty on her head for her magic now everyone is after her. Werewolves, Vampires you name it they will all kill Blair for the 50,000 dollar reward money. This book is completely different from what I'm used to reading and I'm so glad that i picked it up. Definitely looking forward to reading the second one in the series.
This is a cooperation of four authors describing events from the perspectives from four different protagonists. Chrissy Peebles writes Blair - a vampire/witch that spends little time exploring what she can do, but suddenly everybody is out to get her. AS part of the story ring this works, but unlike some of the other characters, I was not too keen to spend the money other books of her story line and picked up what happened through the books of the other writers.
Enjoyed it and would love to continue on in the series and meet the other sisters and see if Blair gets revenge on her dear old dad, VLAD....I also would like to see if she gets revenge on her coven and her so called boyfriend who tried to kill her..
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Blair’s hybrid identity as half witch, half vampire gives this paranormal romance a compelling twist. The story’s mix of magic, danger, and a heroine on the run keeps the pace lively, though some plot points feel familiar within the genre. Peebles’ worldbuilding of covens and vampire heritage is engaging, and Blair’s inner conflict adds emotional depth to the action.

Blair is half vampire, half witch. She works as a nurse saving lives in Salem, not harming anybody and just living her life. Her boyfriend, Tony is a witch which makes him perfect in every way for her.
She was raised by her aunt in the confines of a coven after her mother died in childbirth and her evil vampire father abandoned her. The coven raised her like one of their own as long as she promised not to tap into her power. There she meets Tony and they fall in love.
One night after work, Blair meets up with Tony and they trudge into the forest so she can finally tap into her power.
When Tony turns on her along with her own coven, Blair must survive on her own for the very first time. When she finds out there's a price on her head, Blair runs and doesn't stop running leading her into dangerous territory.
I loved this! It was very short and caught my attention straight away. The writing was amazing and flowed really well.
The characters were well thought out and I really felt connected to Blair as I could relate to how she felt about being on your own and running away from danger.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars because the writing was beautiful and the plot drew me in. It's not got 5 stars because I just felt like the story was too short. I will be carrying on with the rest of the series though!
Novella again. So short. Blair is a half-breed. She is part witch and part vampire. One special evening, Blair and her beau Tony go out for a very special night on the town. Bair thinks its drinks, dancing and maybe a marriage proposal. Tony has other plans – sinister ones, namely her death.
The Daughters of Darkness books are by 4 different authors, Chrissy Peebles wrote this one. I gotta say I really didn’t like it. I thought maybe as the story progressed I would, but I just found Blair kinda clueless and prissy. From my prospective… I see this first book as paranormal meets damsel in distress. She runs from Tony, she runs from Tori (see Victoriaby W.J.May) she runs to Wayne in hopes that he can help her and then she’s swept up in the strong and capable arms of Tristan. The only time she put up any real fight was a total accident.
I know this review sounds like I’m a Debbie-downer, and for that I’m sorry. Chrissy Peebles writes beautifully. You do get caught up in her words and can almost imagine the scene around you, feel the wind as the characters rush around, the heat of an embarrassing comment. Her other books are good, just not this one. Just my opinion. You never know if you will like it unless you take a look!
This book was easy to get into. That is*number one. There was no pages and pages of sex (porn)that is*number two and for * number three I did enjoy it. I will not be reading the series, minus one star and I don't like authors that right cliffhangers obviously not finishing a storyline is not a full book minus another star.in case you wonder how I come up with my star system she is not in my top 10 for the year 2016 unfortunately. I will no longer play into this buying 5,6 or seven books just to finish a storyline. It's a book like this one is a cliffhanger so to speak I just think in my mind in quotation marks and they all live happily ever after.
When the coven of witches you were raised by turns against you, what do you do? For Blair, being half-vampire and half witch proved to be her biggest challenge. When her boyfriend, Tony a witch of the coven she belongs to, takes her far in the woods, she thinks he's going to propose, but the bastard instead tells her he intends on killing her, because she is hybrid.
I really liked the story of Blair, reading her journey as she tries to escape the clutches of the people who wish to kill her and her power.
Really fun! Unfortunately it's very short, but hey, that's a free teaser for ya. Now I have to buy the rest. And I will. Because Peebles is a very good writer. Her narrative had excellent flow and the story was believable for the supernatural setting. Usually I eye-roll so hard because I hate cheesy dialogue but this was wonderful and well-written. Because of this I will also read The Crush Saga. Peebles has a new fan.
This was short. I like the story so far and I definitely want to know how it continues as I see potential in it. It's a pity however that it only was that short, because I couldn't really get to know the characters. Even the main character has only been "introduced" I feel. I hope to get to know Blair and the others better in the second book.
●Very short, gives just a hint of what is to come. ●MAJOR Cliffhanger!!!! ●Doesn't go into much detail →Don't get lost in the story →Enough to intrigue you
●Don't read unless you plan to read the second book in the series.
Other than a couple grammatical errors I spotted, this was a great start to a series! I'm so excited to find out what comes next, it was such a roller coaster and you're put into the same level of paranoia as the main character. I love it.
I can feel how cliche this story is at the beginning, but when Tori was mentioned I got very interested. I also like Blair, and the way the authors wrote this whole thing. Theres a huge chance though, that i would finish all three of the sisters' story before I do read Blair's.
This was a really good read and I'm not normally into vampire/paranormal reads that much. Chrissy Peebles is a good writer. I'll have to add other of her books to my reading list.
