Get ready for the exciting follow up to Atlantis Rising, dubbed An enchanting debut from a promising new author of paranormal YA by Kirkus Reviews.
After all they'd cost me, I thought I was done with the Truss clan. I was wrong. Nikki Dawning, my mortal enemy, has beenkidnapped, and I've been asked to spy on the Truss to find her. The pull between Ian and I has never been stronger, but he can't help me this time. I have to rely on Theron, a bad-tempered cousin I didn't know I had. To make matters worse, the people I trust have been keeping secrets.
I'm starting to feel like a weapon in a war I don't understand. How far am I willing to go to protect the descendants of Atlantis and the common good when I'm not sure what the common good is anymore?
Only one thing is certain. If I'm the next Laurel clan chief, I can't let myself be manipulated…by anyone.
I grew up in the desert southwest, inspired everyday by the wide skies and rich colors around me. I attended the University of Utah where I got a degree in anthropology. These days, I live in the burbs just outside of Seattle, Washington. I'm married and have four daughters. When I'm not running them to volleyball or swimming, I'm reading, writing or fangirling over some TV show.
Atlantis Quest is book two of the Atlantis Rising series by Gloria Craw and I’m glad I came across these books. This book picks up shortly after book one wrapped up and quickly pulled me back into Alison’s story again. I admit, I had to go back to book one to refresh my memory of what had happened in the first book but once I did that and then dove into this book, everything started coming back to me.
Now that Alison knows a bit about who she is and where she comes from, she is more open to those around her; including the clan. Now that Sebastian is taken care of and no longer after her, Alison is in a bit of a rhythm but all of that changes when she is asked to join Spencer and Katherine (Ian’s parents) for dinner where she finds out Nikki Dawning, the girl who almost got her killed, is missing. Not only that, they think Alison is the one who can help find her.
The story really picks up when Alison heads to Colorado to spy on the Truss clan. The plan is that she will stay with a guy names Theron whose family has a place near where the Truss will be and since Alison doesn’t give off a vibration, she is the most logical person to go see what is going on.
I have to say, I really like Theron. I was worried about a potential love triangle here and while that doesn’t normally bother me, I was concerned here because I really like Ian. Thankfully it wasn’t something that I worried about for long. Alison definitely has feelings for Ian and I see where her thoughts are coming from but her relationship with Theron definitely feels more brotherly. One of my favorite parts of their relationship was that back and forth banter. In addition to that, Theron knows things about Alison. As they begin to get comfortable with each other and open up, they both find they are able to talk to one another about things they haven’t felt comfortable talking to others about. These two have formed a great friendship and I love how Theron has helped Alison face one of her biggest fears, opening herself up to Ian even though it might now all work out in the end.
Alison definitely grows in this book. She is on her own with the Truss most of the time…with the exception of the time she spent with Phoebe and she definitely holds her own. While she is definitely in danger when she is at the resort on her own, she uses her brain. When she is in danger, she thinks about what to do versus just reacting. I appreciate that she wasn’t just reacting all the time. I also like that she finally called Spencer and Katherine out on all the secrets they have been keeping from her.
I also liked how Craw tied Sebastian into the current story and the fact that we finally got to find out about Maxwell and what the overall plan was. As the story wraps up, we find out what happens with the Truss clan and ultimately, Nikki. I don’t know if another book is in the works for this series but I think this book definitely leaves things open for another since I still have questions about Alison’s place within the clans as well as what happens amongst them all.
If you are looking for something a bit different definitely consider this series. It was something I just happened across and I’m glad for it. It has solid characters and an interesting story and while I wasn’t really sure what to expect at first, I found myself pulled into this story and unable to put it down.
I wasn't reading much after I initially started Atlantis Quest, and I couldn't remember what happened, for sure, in the first and second chapters, so on Sunday, I started again from the beginning and read it straight through over the course of the day with breaks in between.
Atlantis Quest brings quite a few new characters, many of which I loved. Theron, in particular, was amazing. He understands Alison in a way that the other dewing she met in book 1 don't. He's über talented and even though I don't love the lumberjack look, I kind of ship him in a big way. Stacy was the human character who Ian stays with while Alison stays with Theron, closer to where the Tress clan are having their week of meetings. She, like Theron, is big into computers and gaming and has a huge crush on Theron, which unbeknownst to her, could never work out because she's human. We don't see her as much, but she's clearly a caring person who is big on hugging.
Finally, I really loved Phoebe, who Alison meets and is forced to ingratiate herself with to spy on the Tress. I expected her to be out for power or self interest, like the few Tress we met in Atlantis Rising, but that wasn't the case. She was opinionated and a strong character, who despite their different clans, could be great friends with Alison going forward.
Also, something I suspected in Atlantis Rising turns out to be true, which made me happy.
If you loved the first book, you'll need this one and the next book in the series, coming in Winter 2017.
*Thoughts* Atlantis Quest, by Gloria Craw, is the second installment in the Atlantis Rising series. Until recently, 18-year old Alison McKaye, aka Jillian Laurel, could honestly say that she never so much as thought about killing another person. Hidden away for most of her life in the human world, adopted by human parents, Alison has come to understand that she is the last of the Laurel Clan and the daughter of the White Laurel. This means she's pretty much the Clan Chief which comes with understanding her new responsibilities, as well as making decisions that destiny calls on her to make.
I didn't read book 1 and I was given this book by Netgalley in return for an honest review.
I loved this book, it was so easy to read, I read it in one sitting. The story flowed nicely and I was able to determine what happened in the first book by references made in this book. The first book sounds really good too.
This book is fast paced, with action, intensity and hormones. what isn't there to like!
“Atlantis Quest” is a great continuation of an exciting YA paranormal series. Alison has vanquished Sebastian, and her life is returning to normal- or as close as she can get. However, the dewing have more to ask of her. Nikki, her teenage/high school enemy from the first book (who turned her over to the evil Sebastian), is missing. Thanks to being raised by humans, Alison’s thought patterns render her invisible to the other dewing- to them, she is just like any other human. However, as a thoughtmaker, she can join their minds to plant thoughts/actions in them, both dewing and human.
Although somewhat surprising to send a teenager undercover into a difficult situation (perhaps less so, since they sent her on a quest to kill the most dangerous dewing in existence in the last book), Alison has a new mission- to spy on the Truss, the clan which had formerly been led by Sebastien, and try to figure out where Nikki has been hidden. We get some new characters, including Alison’s (sort of) cousin Theron, who is being punished for his hacking skills and happens to be living near where the Truss are meeting. Throughout the book, we, like Alison, can’t help to warm up to Theron who is a really great character all-around.
Despite a semi-slow start to the book, the pace picks up to soon become just as delightful as the first. We learn a little more about the dewing and their history as well as the new cast of characters/clans in this book. Once again, this book manages to have a whole story without being too fast-paced and giving a cliffhanger (although we are left with a pretty big teaser for the next book at the end, the main plot is wrapped up nicely). Alison starts to get her bearing amongst the dewing and think about what she wants out of her life/what she thinks is right (not just what Ian’s clan say). We see her grow during this book quite a bit as she ponders life and love.
I was worried there was going to be a love triangle with Theron, but luckily (for people who don’t love the love triangles), no such thing happens. The romance is still there between our favorite couple of book 1, but it takes a backseat to the espionage and excitement of her quest in this book. Overall, it’s a really fantastic addition to the series, and not just filler (as second books sometimes are). I am really looking forward to continuing with the next!
Please note that I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.
Note: This ARC was provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
Alison went through her fair share of training in the first book and continues trying to hone her fighting skills and her otherworldly abilities in this sequel. She'll need them since she's basically left to her own devices for most of the time here, no thanks to Ian's parents, who I feel were using Alison more than they were admitting to. My opinion of them shifted, because even though I wouldn't necessarily label them as manipulative, they did take advantage of Alison and preyed upon her kindness and, I think, her closeness to Ian. We also learn more about Alison's parents thanks to a new character--Theron Falco, who is a computer genius and an artist that ends up playing babysitter to Alison as she tries to find out where Nikki Dawning is. Theron and Alison are distant cousins, and while things got off to a rocky start, they become close during their time together in the cabin. I did wonder if there was some sort of underlying romantic angle to them, because the whole cousin thing isn't really an issue, I think, to dewings, so you never know.
I liked that this was more focused on Alison and her evolution to becoming a more independent dewing coming into her own. Her hesitance with regards to pursuing a relationship with Ian was frustrating at times and you can't help but love Ian for being so darn patient with her when it's clear that she reciprocates his feelings. I have a theory when it comes to the likenessing issue between the two of them and it has to do with something Theron pointed out offhandedly and with the reaction that Ian and Alison get when their palms touch. Yes, I admit it: I want these two to likeness, but maybe it's good that it's slow going because they are both seventeen...and maybe Gloria Craw is saving it for the last book in the trilogy. Maybe. At least, that's what I'm hoping for. The book does end in another cliffhanger, one that I suspected was going to happen after reading the first book. It's going to be a bit of wait, though, until we get the series ender--March 2017--but I have a feeling it just may be worth the wait. Atlantis Quest gets 4.5 stars, rounded off to five stars for Goodreads. ♥
The story of Atlantis has always fascinated me. When I read Atlantis Quest, I was thrust in to a new and fascinating world where the "Dewing" existed, or the children of Atlantis. I have traveled this dangerous journey full of suspense, the unveiling of mysterious information, romance, and new responsibilities, right alongside the main character, Alison.
In Atlantis Quest, the sequel picks right up where Atlantis Rising left off. Make sure you read this series in sequential order. I enjoyed book two even more than the first book in the series. Alison is put up to a very dangerous task, that will benefit the greater good of her people, shall she succeed. Along the way, her feelings for Ian grow stronger, and it becomes harder to resist the pull she feels towards the one she loves. She makes new friends, Theron and Phoebe, who are both extremely likable characters, and I have high hopes that I will see more of them in the following book.
Atlantis Quest was filled with magic, mystery, danger, and awakening. Alison grew as a character, as she became more confident in her role as a dewing, and developed leadership qualities, along with a stronger voice. The romance isn't a large part of the story, but it adds a little something special in to the mix.
The Atlantis Rising Series is one that I would recommend for kids in middle should, as well as teenagers, and adults that are "young at heart." It doesn't have any mature content whatsoever, and is a safe and fun read that parents can give to their children.
My Rating:
I give, Atlantis Quest, by Gloria Craw, 4 Exciting Adventure, Magical, Mysterious, Fun, and Suspense Filled Stars! What a wonderful and refreshing read.
Once again I am impressed with Gloria Craw! We continue to follow Alison in her quest to learn more about being a dewing yet trying to get the most of her time left with her family before she has to leave so they won’t discover her secret once she stops aging.
We get to continue loving Ian and, for me at least, hoping for a soul match pairing. Unfortunately, Alison is so negative about her ability to find a match that she may let a good thing get away. Theron, Alison’s cousin, makes his first appearance in Atlantis Quest and I love him. He is snarky and sarcastic and at times, downright rude, but that is just fine because he can match Alison comment for comment and their banter sometimes made me actually laugh but mostly I smiled every time they spoke to one another. I love how he gets Alison. She needed someone that she didn’t have to explain why she feels the way she does and doesn’t have to feel bad for her humanity. I am excited at what his abilities are going to be. I can’t wait to see how Alison will infiltrate the Tress and become a chief. I think between her and Phoebe, there is a change coming!
I received a copy of this book through the publisher, Entangled Publishing and Netgalley in return for my honest review. This in no way altered my opinion.
This is the second book in the Atlantis Rising series by Gloria Crew. In this one we get more of Alison and Ian.
Alison's life is trying to go back to normal, or as close to normal as it can get after vanquishing Sebastian. But before she gets too settled back in, the dewing have another favor to ask of her.
It seems that Nikki, her high school enemy has all the sudden gone missing. With Alison having been raised by humans, her thought pattern renders her invisible to the other dewing. Alison is just like any other human, but as a thought maker, she can join their minds to plant thoughts/actions in them, both dewing and human.
Even though it seem sort of crazy to send Alison on this type of task, you have to remember that she did go after the most dangerous dewing in the previous book. Alison is supposed to go and spy on the Truss clan to see if she can find out where they have hidden Nikki.
We get to meet Theron, a lovely new character that is being punished for his hacking skills. When Theron and Alison begin to become closer and closer, I sort of worried about a love triangle coming in to play, but we begin to get Alison's true feelings and thank goodness it did not turn into that. I really like Ian for Alison.
This is a great continuation the the first book. I think readers are really going to enjoy this next mission with Alison. The story flows really well and keeps your attention throughout the whole book. I am anxious to see what Gloria Craw has in store for us next!
This story has some of the best characters that I have read in a long time. Each character is so well developed and described that I feel as though I am in the book with them or can see them.
This is the second story in the Atlantis Rising storyline. I enjoyed the first story, but I loved this story even more. I think it is because I now had a better understanding of the dewing and I love the introduction of Phoebe and Theron. I also love that we see the ghost Mom as more than an abstract or voice this time around! Another thing I really enjoyed was Alison becoming more confident in herself and what all that means. Her relationships and personality are a favorite of mine in this story.
This story should be read after reading book one because the storyline continues from book one and all of the history and introduction of characters will enrich book twos story and moments of tension. Many questions were answered in this book, but many big ones were not...aka what will happen between Ian and Alison, what did the ghost Mom mean about his own portal, and that note!!! Needless to say I can’t wait to read book 3.
Thanks NetGalley and Entangled Teen for the chance to read this book and share my opinions.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review Atlantis Quest by Gloria Craw! Alison has now learned about her heritage from her biological mother and also about her abilities and now she's expected to rescue her enemy from a kidnapping. She travels to a ski resort and spies on the Truss family to find Nikki and any news about her kidnapping. Alison meets and stays with a distant relative, Theron. He tells her about her father's lineage and the story of how she was left with humans. Alison is given even more dangerous tasks to perform and help her people. Theron's gruff demeanor mellows as his familial relationship with Alison grows. They are good for each other. This second book of the Atlantis trilogy amps up the dangers, action and intensity of Alison's world while her responsibilities grow. 5 stars for this interesting fantasy adventure!
Read this one right after reading Atlantis Rising. Once again Alison is needed to save the clans. This time on her own pretty much. Spencer and Katherine had a different feel in this book than the first. You didn't like them very well in this one. Ian is not around as often as in the first, Theron is the main male in this one although not romantically. I liked his backstory and hope to see more of him. For still being a beginner with her joining power she was left on her own quite often and around dangerous people. Backup was nearby but still it seemed a bit off she was alone. Overall the story was good and flowed well and stead. I received a free copy for an honest review and this in no way influenced my review. Now on to the third book......
Atlantis Quest is the second book in the Atlantis Rising book series. I found that this book quickly picks up from where the first book left off. I did not have to go back and reread the first book because this book pulls you right back into the story. This book series is a little different than most series I have read recently and I found that to be refreshing. I recommend this book if you are looking for a series that will pull you in and having you trying to figure out what happens next in this page turner that you will not be able to put down.
This series is magical, we have amazing characters like Allison, Ian, Lillian, Theron, Luke and Phoebe. When Alison becomes the clan chief she makes decisions that change her life. In each book you find a changing event. Alison and Ian have a sweet romance, but would've loved it more if there was more into them. It is a series that could continue with all secondary characters, and hope it does.
I didn't know Sebastian was a half human and half dewing. Burned alive? OUCH! Seeking revenge... scary. Watching her... even worse. Theron is such a good guy its sad someone broke his heart. I hope he finds true love. But back to Alison and Ian, I hope everything goes well for both.
Narrated by Alison, Craw continues her series. The story could be improved with adding more of a science fiction edge, like referencing: Eugenics or Nietzsche for example.
I had started reading this book a few weeks ago but I had to put it down because I needed to read the first so that I knew what had happened and why. Sometimes authors will summarize what has happened in the series. This is something I find very helpful also because it can take an average of 12 months for the next book in a series to be released and I’ve usually have read 100’s of book since it’s sometimes hard to remember all the details and I sometimes find that I have to speed read an earlier book to refresh my memory. I love books that deal with mythology and I’ve always liked stories about ancient civilizations so a series centered on Atlantis intrigued me. Now that Alison is aware of her origins and she has learned about her abilities she feels more comfortable in her new life. While she has many abilities, she has one that is unique; she doesn’t have a vibration. A vibration is sort of like a beacon letting other dewings, (descendents of Atlantis) know you were one of them. From the feel of the vibration you could tell the gender, approximate age and what clan the come from. Alison could feel others, but they could not feel her. Maybe it’s because she was raised by humans and as she learns more she will develop a vibration. However, not having a vibration makes her the logical one to act as a spy in Colorado and gather information on the Truss. She’s also trying to find information relating to the disappearance of her adversary, Nikki Dawning. I like that Alison is a strong character and I also like that the characters actions and decisions show a maturity level that is lacking is too many YA novels. They aren’t flight, whiny and ruled by their hormones and romance is not the main focus of the story. There aren’t any love triangles or any insta-love/insta-lust in the first two novels. I would have like to see a little more action and less talking but the story flows well and I found it to be a very enjoyable read. There’s not cliff-hanger and I hope in the next book we will learn even more this world, its inhabitants and the more about why there is so much dissonance among clans. Are there more secrets that Alison doesn’t know about; will not knowing put her in danger? Why are they still keeping secrets from her; what are they afraid of? 4.25/5 STARS: **I want to thank the author and/or publisher for providing me with a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review; all opinions are mine.** I had started reading this book a few weeks ago but I had to put it down because I needed to read the first so that I knew what had happened and why. The same unique story, with more humor and one hell of an ending.
Atlantis Rising definitely left me wanting to know what would happen next, and I felt a connection with Alison weeks after I reached the end. When the opportunity to read and review the sequel came along, I jumped on it, and I'm glad for the chance to continue experiencing this story.
Alison grew so much in this book, even more than she did in the first. Not only has she embraced being outside her protective bubble, she's learned more about who she is, what she wants, and where her life is going, which was marvelous to see. I missed Brandy quite a bit, wondering several times throughout the story what she would say or do, much like I suspect Alison and Ian did. The new characters introduced were fantastic, and I love the connections made between them all. I feel like Spencer and Katherine could be expanded on a bit more, but I'm holding out hope for the third book to see more of their personalities, aside from somewhat controlling leaders.
I actually found myself wondering why Alison likes Ian so much, and what she sees in him, which was disturbing. I'm not quite sure they work together, but again, am curious to see what happens between them in the next book. I have a feeling all hell is going to break loose for the descendants of Atlantis, so there may not even be time for them to worry about personal lives. We shall see.
All in all, I am so glad to have stumbled upon this series, and am loving where the story is headed. Mrs. Craw is a wonderful storyteller, and I enjoy her writing style. I'd be more than happy to read anything she creates, but am mostly anxious to see how she ends this story. I can't wait to devour the third book in the series, and my guess is, I'll be crossing my fingers for a fourth book.
I'd definitely recommend this series to fans of paranormal adventures. This book did have some graphic/gory points, that may not be suitable for younger audiences. It is a book you could read without reading the prequel first, but I would recommend starting the series from the beginning, as the character development will lack a few layers of substance otherwise.
Bravo, and keep 'em coming!
*I was given an eCopy of this book, from the publisher, to read in exchange for an honest review.
So with this book I am seeing Allison more as a heroine. She is stronger, less waffly and more decisive. She does try to hurt my Ian but he doesn’t let her miss negativity guss deter him. You go boo..Our characters pick up where one left off. There is some peace in allison and Ian’s world for a little bit. They settle into school and family and Allison learns more to fight and about herself and who she is. Ian is there for her as always and he is just as sweet and charming.
Suddenly the world is put into danger once again. The truss are appointing a new leader and this may cause strife and war. Also Ian’s parents want help from allison in finding Nikki her betrayer and enemy. They hold secrets from Allison that she finds out about through the snarky and bitter Theron. Theron wears you down. When you first meet him you are like meh but he does drive Allison batty so he can’t be to bad and than he just wears on you. He changes because of Allison. He goes from bitter to snarky. He is still dangerous but he is a danger to his enemies. Allison helps him move on and find peace. He begins to feel lighter and less burdened.
Lillian makes some decisions about her life that will have you sad but the game between her and Ian will still have you smile. I think losing her would be a sad development in the story if it happens.
Ian is as flirty, sweet fun and kind as ever. His protective and fierce side is out more and Allison does hurt him. Poor guy. I think in the end when Allison finally makes up her mind Ian should keep her dangling longer.
So here Allison and Ian are off to find Nikki and stop the Truss from putting in a tyrant. Allison’s skills are stronger and she is more determined. With Theron there as a listener and type of guide she learns more about her powers, her mom and her family. She sees what other clans are like and gains allies as well. I didn’t like her using others but in the end that worked out well. We are privy to some wow moments with Jacob and Matt. And I mean wow moments. It will have your jaw drop.
The book is becoming more character and emotional driven. We are getting more depth in the characters and seeing them fleshed out more. The emotions are becoming broader and the focus is more on Allison’s clan and family history and not the history of the children of Atlantis. She begins to believe more in herself and her abilities and sees Ian as more. The letter from Nikki in the end wow just seriously what a cliffy.
A well paced book full of danger, intrigue, revelations and the beginnings of a love bond. the story of a girl finding her past, seeing what family means and becoming a stronger person with the help of those around her and especially Ian who is there for her no matter what.
If I thought the first one to this was exceptional then I really did not know nothing yet. I have now gone into reading youth every so often especially when the story line intrigues me. I have found they have so much to offer a reader and it was thanks to this author that got me to give them a second chance. When this one came along hot diggity had to jump right back in. I fell in love with this series and the characters. The concept touched on a fascination long time and brought it to realistic proportions that were exciting to follow. Alison is the one front and center though that will draw you in and keep you there. So much has happened but there is still more to come in this one. She is now training with her time limited with her adoptive family but that does not stop what she has to do. She will be sent on a mission that because of her specialties and the fact she is one of a kind that can not be felt the right one for it. She will be sent to stay with Theron whom she will learn is also her cousin. In fact this one will go so into more about them plus her also not turning so much away from who she is. Of course Ian will not be far away. Of course while being that spy and trying to locate one of her enemies Nikki it will not stop there and that is the deliciousness of this. There is so much action and adventure you are sure it is seeping out of the sides. This unique story line also will keep you front and center that it will leave little room for anything else. My heart though would go out to her at times especially when she heard the voice and would also find out Theron did too. You get a treat when she gets two special gifts concerning her mother that will pull on the heart strings. You will also when confronted with evil find out she is one lucky girl too. All in All one dynamite novel.
We pick up where Atlantis Rising ended, a few weeks after the dust up with batshit crazy Sebastian. As far as the clans know, he’s dead. A new clan leader must be appointed. The problem is that no one knows anything about the candidates. Also, Nikki, enemy of Alison, is missing. Ian’s parents want Alison to use her gift of thoughtmaking to find her.
And that, my friends, is where everything gets interesting! Alison has to assume a fake identity and befriend Phoebe, the enemy’s daughter, find out who’s being nominated for clans chief AND find Nikki! Alison will be staying with Theron, who is exiled for a few (major, but not deadly) crimes he committed. They create a bond that she never thought could happen and their relationship helped them with a bit of self-reflection. As things come to a head, everyone learns something new about themselves and each other. Can time heal all wounds? Or… are some wounds just to deep to heal? Just as Alison thought her life would get a little normal, there’s a letter from Nikki. Everyone thought Sebastian was dead… but it’s he?
This was a great sequel to Atlantis Rising. When situations got tough, Alison used her head instead of flying into things without a plan. She learned to stand her ground and as a character she grew. I have to admit, I was annoyed when I thought there was going to be a love triangle… I just really LOVE Ian! Alison’s relationship with Theron was more of a brother/sister relationship and their banter was hilarious!
While this one has a few more chapters than the last book, they go by so quickly that you won’t notice!
I really enjoyed Atlantis Rising and gave it four stars. I was looking forward to catching up with Alison, Ian and co, and seeing where Gloria Craw would take her characters this time. Not only do we meet up with old favourites, but we are introduced to new ones too. As well as going on an adventure, with excitement and suspense woven in, but we also see Allison grow into herself, as she both finds out and gets told about who she is.
Two characters I loved, that I'm sure will be reader favourites, are Theron and Phoebe. Both of these characters help Allison in various ways, sometimes by just being there for her and understanding her thoughts. I loved both of them and I hope to see more of them in the future.
As far as the rest of the story goes, it was a thrilling ride that was both heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. There is still so much for Allison (and the reader) to figure out and learn, but I for one am completely looking forward to that!
With no editing or grammatical errors that I found, this is a smooth-paced fantasy/action/romance/adventure story that I would have no hesitation in recommending.

ATLANTIS QUEST by Gloria Craw is an excellent follow-up to ATLANTIS RISING. The story picks up shortly after the events of book one and quickly draws the reader back into Alison’s world again. We’re given more backstory about the politics of the Dewing clans, as well as more about Ali’s family. There’s a new threat in town and Ali is asked to step up to the plate to help save someone who betrayed her, as well as her entire race. Definitely some high stakes!
The writing is solid & succinct, yet again. Ali really comes into her own. It’s beautiful to watch her become more confident not only as a teenager, but as a Dewing. Prepare yourself for some awesome new characters (Theron FTW), as well as a fantastic twist at the end! Very much looking forward to the final installment of the series.
I received this book for free from Goodreads Giveaways. This is the second in a series but it reads well as a standalone book. The main characters are dewing, the long lost race from Atlantis. When Alison, a teenage dewing, is called on to find a missing girl, she and her friend Ian go to a ski lodge where the other clans of dewings are meeting. It is a very interesting and well written story.
ok so i NEED to know before i read the second or third book, do ian and ally end up together?? i don’t know if it is even revealed but i’m fine with an open ending but i can’t deal with them with someone else so pleaseeee. it will ruin the whole series for me and the first book is my favorite!
