I loved this book. It got me through many sleepless nights I couldn't focus on reading anything, helped the time go by while working nights. Honestly, I love to color, always have, no excuse needed.
If I could have rated this book with TEN stars rather than just five, I would have! Yes, this is a coloring book. However, let's not think in terms of Disney characters and color crayons. As the title states, "Mystical Circles to Color and Display." This coloring book is not for the very young who are still learning to "stay between the lines." This is a wonderful self-creative coloring book for middle school students to the oldest adult who still likes to color. The pages are each perforated, so you can remove the picture before you color.
I first got interested in this type of coloring book when I became disabled and had to find "new" things to do while sitting in bed and staying in the house. This activity is also well-known as a (DBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy technique referred to as "distraction" and "mindfulness." Sometimes, especially us adults, we need our own time out to relax and unwind...there are few other activities that work as well as this coloring book. Be sure to indulge yourself in the largest box of coloring pencils you can find (and let your children know they are YOURS)!
Having worked in the medical field, this book would be a great tool for Occupational Therapy. Whatever physical or mental limitations an individual has or is suffering from, this coloring book would be of great benefit to those who need or want to work on their fine motor skills.
To the "author"/illustrator - thumbs up all the way! I love this book!
I never thought about coloring as an adult. But this book intrigued me. I found coloring relaxing.mentioned it to my counselor and she said it is often recommended for people with anxiety disorders and sleep issues. I can see why. These are intricate, yet enticing. My daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter have met at midnight when having trouble sleeping and we color in companionable silence.am keeping eye out for more.
November 2015 Have now completed the book. These were wonderful drawings and a delight to color. I have gotten several more books and will continue coloring for relaxation and pleasure.
I received a copy through the Goodreads First Reads giveaways. Can't wait to get started on some of these illustrations. The images are nice, but not so small that I cannot easily use colored pencils. I also like that the images are only on one side of the page, not front and back like some coloring books that I have purchased.
