This is the strongest of the Finn Brothers novels that I’ve read so far, possibly because she’s spent a lot of time developing these two characters, but also because she’s starting to make more direct connections with her Chasing Light Trilogy, which I devoured, one after the other. Although that series takes place long after the events of the Finn brothers, in a dystopian world where humans have gone underground in an attempt to protect themselves from the vampires who have all but taken over, the events concerning the Finn brothers offer an explanation for what led to that situation. As with many of Hagmann’s stories, which I tend to read them in one or two sittings, it didn’t take long for me to read this one. The brothers are not alone, but they split up for the majority of this story as they each chase different leads, trying to find and save Jamie, before it’s too late. I will not reveal any spoilers, but I will say that I felt Cooper’s anxiety and sense of urgency for most of the book, which had me reading this past midnight. The ending is not a cliffhanger exactly, but it does suggest there will be more books about the Finn Brothers, which I will be anxiously waiting for. There were also a few things that occurred at the end that is making me want to reread the Chasing Light Trilogy, because I need to check and see if I’m remembering one of Enkur’s people correctly or if there is any direct connection.
If you have not yet read any of Hagmann’s books, you’re missing out. My favorite series of hers is the Chasing Light Trilogy, but I enjoy the Finn Brothers books when I need a quick read, and now that there’s starting to be a connection, it’s making it even more interesting.

Gage and Cooper are again out to do their jobs but this one hits closer to home for them as one of their friends and alias is at stake. Jamie, Coopers vampire girlfriend, is taken by an extraction team but this ends up to be way more than they bargained for. They work with Kennedy to help them rescue Jamie, which is nice to see some others being pulled in to the story, and run into some people they thought were on their side. I have loved reading the development of Gage and Cooper and enjoy seeing other characters continue to make appearances. This book does split the brothers up to go their own way for most of the book, which is a good switch up because we get to see Cooper and how he thinks and works. I could totally feel his desperation coming down off the pages. I have enjoyed this whole series and look forward to the next because it was not left on a cliffhanger but you do know the story is not done.
I have read several of this authors works and enjoy her story telling and always anxiously wait for the next one. Great work Ms. Hagmann and please keep them coming!

I Love the Brothers Finn and I have really missed their stories. This one was so good. Cooper and Gage are amazing characters and will do anything to make sure the other survives. They care deeply for those they trust. If they don't trust you, look out. I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I hope the next story comes out soon.

This book was by far, the best i've read so far of the series. i like the fast paced drama of it all. i love the action of it all. it was truly entertaining to read. the characters are still growing and i like that while most of what they're doing is highly entertaining to the reader, it also has some elements of real life that make it more endearing.

Saving Jamie is the root of this story and it drew me in. A lot of action, drama and trouble kept me reading to the end. Plus had to see what the brothers would face and do this time. And would they be in time to save Jamie.
