Book One of the Clear Creek Series
The mysteries of Clear Creek and its magic unfold across the series.
Jen Carter came to Clear Creek searching for a fresh start.
Burned out, grieving, and tired of living in someone else's shadow, she leaves the city behind in hopes of building a life that finally feels like her own. What she discovers is a charming small town filled with quirky residents, a handsome carpenter named Trevor Brooks, and a little more magic than anyone is willing to admit.
As mysterious Gates begin appearing and an aging Godmother guides Jen through lessons of love, loss, and self-discovery, she slowly uncovers secrets tied to her family, her future, and the town itself. Yet what Jen doesn't realize is that her arrival marks the beginning of a much larger story.
For centuries, Clear Creek's greatest magic has remained hidden. And when Jen finally chooses her future, she unknowingly sets ancient forces into motion, awakening mysteries that will reshape the town forever.
A cozy fantasy filled with romance, healing, family secrets, magical realism, and the first spark of a much larger adventure.
About the Clear Creek Trilogy
The Clear Creek Trilogy is a cozy fantasy series that grows with each book.
Book One:
begins as a coming-of-age story about healing, belonging, and finding your place in the world. While romance and magical realism take center stage, readers are introduced to the first hints of Clear Creek's deeper mysteries.
Book Two:
expands the world beyond the town square as forgotten magic begins to awaken. Ancient secrets, dragon wards, magical bloodlines, and hidden pieces of Clear Creek's past emerge, transforming the story into a larger YA fantasy adventure.
Book Three:
reveals the truth behind Clear Creek's history, the ancient conflict that shaped the town, and the powerful magic hidden beneath its quiet surface. What began as one woman's journey to find a home becomes a battle to protect a magical sanctuary generations in the making.
At its heart, the trilogy is a story about family, belonging, love, legacy, and discovering that sometimes the smallest towns hold the biggest secrets.

About the author
Netty Sherer
2 books17 followersNetty Sherer is a small‑town Midwest author who writes cozy YA and New Adult magical realism filled with clean romance, gentle magic, and the kind of small‑town charm that feels like home. Her stories blend hope, healing, and self‑discovery with the warmth of close‑knit communities and the quiet magic woven through everyday life.
The Clear Creek series grew from her own journey from city living to a tiny northern Minnesota town with fewer than fifty residents. Those experiences shaped the friendships, gossip, humor, and heart that define Clear Creek and the people who call it home.
When she isn’t writing, Netty is cooking, cheering on her kids, or spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Grimm and Mabel, who appear in her books exactly as they are in real life. She hopes her stories leave readers feeling wrapped in comfort, swept into a little magic, and eager to return to Clear Creek again and again.

October 7, 2026A cozy Minnesota town, an upcoming fall festival and some long dormant drama. This book is perfect for teens, young adults, readers who are dipping their toes in the romance genre or those who like wholesome and light-hearted closed door romance with an element of magical realism.
Coming from a historic midwestern town, it was easy to envision myself in the middle of Clear Creek and it’s immediately evident that the author poured her heart and soul into each of the characters she created. We’ve all had to stand up to a Darcy, we’ve all fallen for a Trevor and at some point we all have to confront our demons, just like Jen. The underlying life lessons, hidden amongst the drama and the sorcery, lend their own magic to this book.
It’s a coming of age story about finding courage, facing the past, and discovering a little magic along the way. A quick, easy and light-hearted read.
Thank you Netty Sherer for the advanced copy and the chance to explore Clear Creek.

The beginning of this book started off strong. However, as the story progressed, I found myself becoming a little confused by some of the direction the plot took, especially once the magical elements were introduced. At times, it felt like there were a lot of moving pieces, which made it difficult for me to stay fully immersed in the story.
I also found the town bulletin featured at the beginning of most chapters to be a bit distracting. While I understand the purpose they served in adding context and world-building, I often felt that they gave away or hinted at things I was about to read in the chapter, which took away some of the anticipation.
Unfortunately, I struggled to connect with Darcy from the very beginning. I also felt that Jens’s relationship with Trevor developed rather suddenly. Their relationship seemed to blossom without enough of a foundation or emotional connection being established first, so I found it difficult to become invested in their romance.
Overall, while there were aspects of the story I enjoyed, I think this book may appeal more to a YA audience. Readers who enjoy magical elements, small-town settings, and a younger coming-of-age feel may connect with it more than I did.
Thank you to the author/publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC.
