✨ARC Review✨
The yearning was brought... holy smokes.
This sequel was very, very good. I think part 2 was strong than part 1, but that is just because of how much I adore when the romance is romancing. And boy did it.
Gedeon... the man that you are. The yearning that you do. The devotion that you have. The calm, domineering, presence you have... yes. YES. I really loved how he was in this book, I really just love his character. He is so solid in how he is portrayed as the character. And all of his lines... phenomenal. I NEED MORE. So much more.
Some of my favorite Gedeon lines...
"My apologies... but dead men don't talk."
"Who did this to you, Kyra?"
"You see me better than anyone I've ever known."
"I am only gentle when I want to be."
"That dream wasn't yours, Kyra. It was mine." (Chapter 41 was just perfection)
"I do not wish to see you awash with greys."
"Now... we play."
"That kiss haunts me. I'm done pretending like it doesn't kill me that I cannot touch you the way I want to. The way YOU want me to." (Chapter 53 was ALSO perfection)
LEANING. ON. THE. DOORFRAME. (I still don't know why that is so hot.)
Need I say more? No, I don't have to, because Gedeon is a top tier MMC. Period.
I loved how Kawai was treated in this book, he deserved so much love and kindness after everything in book one and I am happy to see he wasn't just pushed aside. I am very excited to see what happens between him and a certain Eternal... heeheehee.
Naal was just as cringey... the end.
I really love Kyra, I just don't love how she views the mating bond and how against being claimed she is. She is great until she has inner thoughts about the bond. It's a little too much, a little too preachy, especially when Gedeon has never tried to force anything onto her, and he is also just perfect so why is she so against it haha. But towards the end of the book she got a little better, and I am hopeful for the future... although...
That ending was CRIMINAL... Like oof. I didn't necessarily care about a certain someone's fate because I never cared for them to begin with... BUT THAT ENDING... THAT LAST PARAGRAPH... ugh. The fallout of everything is going to be brutal I just know it. I need the next book so bad, and I am so excited for whenever we get it. (I will be picking my fingers just like Kyra waiting for it... because that is still something I connect with haha).
Thank you so much for the ARC, I cannot wait for the conclusion... just let Gedeon, Kyra, Kawai, and Tanwen be happy, that is all I care about.
