Maybe you felt Him at one point and then suddenly weren't able to. Or maybe you've never felt Him in the first place. Either way, you're not the only one.
So many people can't feel God and the only logical conclusion they're left with is that He isn't there. At least, that's what I thought.
So we ask God where He is...but hear nothing.
And because of this, so many people around the country are walking away from God every year. Maybe you're one of them.
What does it mean when we can't feel God? How do we follow Him when it doesn't seem like He's there?
This is what I explore in my book “Never Alone.” Through my own journey, my hope is that you to discover truth and that truth brings you redemption.
Dugan does a great job of peeling away the 'soft fuzzies' that so many people thing come when you follow Jesus. So many people have powerful God encounters when they're young then walk away from their faith years later when the mountain top feelings are gone. Dugan does a great job addressing this issue as well as offering options to counter those feelings of God-abandonment.
Dugan was a youth pastor at my church 3 years ago, so when I saw he wrote this book I thought I would read it myself. It's a great book and I learned a lot from it. I found myself reading it in less than a day. I'm looking forward to applying what I learned from this book to my life, especially taking time out of my day to listen to God.
I loved this book, so much so that I want to give it five stars. But I can't. The reason is there were too many typos that actually distracted me from the task at hand. However, aside from that, the book was well-written, witty, and deeply introspective. It does an impressive job of relating to any Christian who has felt God's presence "disappear," especially students.
