Count Dracula has heard the stories about Erzsébet Báthory. He intends to discover how many of them are true.
Women disappear behind the walls of her castle. Blood is collected with ritual precision. The years have left their mark on everyone around her, but the Countess herself appears untouched by time.
For Dracula, curiosity is reason enough to investigate.
He expects depravity. Perhaps even the supernatural. What he finds is a woman who neither fears him nor appears impressed by what he is. And she seems every bit as interested in studying him as he is in studying her.
Their fascination soon becomes a contest of appetite and control. Each conversation draws Dracula further into Báthory's world of blood, portraits and carefully guarded secrets. Each encounter makes it harder to determine which of them is the predator and which has wandered willingly into the other's trap.
Something is waiting beneath the horrors of Báthory's castle.
