So how did we come up with the term “code brown”? That one is easy. Our family travels a lot to visit family and go on family vacations. Typically we will stop at different times to let everyone use the restroom and stretch. If I said that I needed to us the restroom, this was an indicator that we had plenty of time to find a clean restroom. If I said, “code brown”, that meant to find the quickest restroom available, cleanliness not being an issue.
At one point in my life, I was having 4 episodes of “code brown” a week and taking multiple loperamide pills (6-8 pills) just to get it under control. And after every episode, I was dehydrated and severely fatigued as my body recovered from the loss of fluids and the severe cramps that came with it.
This book focuses on my journey to understand “code brown” and how I could control it so that I could enjoy life more. My hope is that this information will help the next person that encounters a similar situation and they will understand that there is hope for a better life!
