Lisi Harrison is the author of the #1 New York Times best-selling series "The Clique", "Alphas", "Monster High," Pretenders," and her first adult novel: "The Dirty Book Club" out 10.10.17. Lisi was born in Toronto, Canada, and lived in NYC for 15 years while she worked at MTV. She now lives in Laguna Beach, CA and is a member or her own Dirty Book Club.
Revenge of the Wannabes by Lisi Harrison was a really good book. It is one of my favorites in the whole clique series. The genre is fictional. I like it because I can relate to it. There are five main characters in this story, Massie Block, Claire Lyons, Kristen Gregory, Dylan Marvil and Alicia Rivera. They are all best friends and they are all there own clique. Massie is the leader/alpha of the clique of girls and they all look up to her. They go through a lot of drama and problems. The main problem is this story is that Alicia wanted to have a Friday night sleepover with some of her dance friends. Massie throws a Friday night sleepover every Friday for all the girls her in clique. So Massie and the other girls get mad at Alicia and kick her out of their clique. Alicia starts her own clique and things get bad. Kristen and Dylan keeping going from clique to clique and need to pick and Massie has a new girl move into her guest house named Claire. Will she join the clique? Read it to find out what happens. It is so good, and keeps you wanting to know what happens next. The theme of this story is probably “Treat Others How You Want To Be Treated”, “Be Friends With Everyone” and “Have Fun”. I recommend this book to girls middle and high school age. You should defiantly read this book.
I learned from this book that not everyone is nice. While Claire is just starting to fit in with the Pretty Cometie, Alicia is starting her own because she feels that Massie isn't being the best of friends even though it was her and Olivia who switched the pictures on the ballet boxes to win the OCD school uniform design contest. When Claire startes to get a crush on a cute Bryerwood boy, Massie doesn't accept it because she too has a crush on Cam Fisher. When Alicia and Olivia start their form of the Pretty Commety, they try and find Kristen and Dylan replacements in their swimming class. Alicia was trying to get everyone on her side. Even the girls in Massie's commety. They trick them and give then fake scarves and tell them that if they wear these scarves that they will be safe with Alicia forever. Some accept it and others don't trying to stay with their own gut. But everything bad happens once Massie and Claire try and ruin Alicia and Olivia's Teen Vouge photo shoot. When Claire is still mad at Massie for breaking her and Cam up, when Alicia is mad at Olivia for buying fake scarves for friends, when Dylan and Kristen are mad at Massie for telling their deepest darkest secrets, when Massie is mad at Alicia for lying to Kristen and Dylan, when Cam is pissed at Claire for breaking up with him becuz she has a 'boyfriend' back in Florida, and even when Massie developes a crush on another boy who never wears pants anything can happen! And everything goes wrong when Massie loses her most prized posetion. And wait till the every end when Todd's eavesdropping problem helps him finf out where they are going.......

Reread from when I was younger… idk how some of this stuff about Alicia and then whole Harris situation… some of the dialogue was not it. I’m glad the author got that he was too old for her but still some of the interactions and what he said about a 12 year old?!?? Really. I completely missed that when I was in 7th grade when I read this.
I loved this one! my friends just reading it now actually!! I was shocked when Alicia tried to get her own clique but understood. Whatever--it was awesome!!

Short Review: This wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. Alicia forms her own little clique and wants to get everyone on her side. First, Alicia is a total bitch in this book, she calls her "friend" Olivia "Faux-Olivia" for most of the book. Then she really messes up when she tries to take the other two from Massie, i don't see why she needs them, just accept the new girls and you would have been fine. The mural they painted was messed up for real, i was thinking that these girls need serious mental help after that. Claire was her normal Flip-Floppy self, i really don't like reading from her POV anymore. The revenge wasn't too bad either.
Misc.
Book Boyfriend: Pass. Best Friend Material: Bean!

The Pretty Committee shuns Alicia because she switched the ballot boxes causing herself and Olivia to win the uniform design contest. Alicia is sick of being Massie’s beta, so she attempts to form her own clique. She even tries to turn the Pretty Committee against Massie by lying and saying Massie told Alicia their secrets, but in the end they learn the truth. Massie forces Claire to not see Cam because she likes him, but in the end she apologizes and the two unite. Massie even forms a crush for Derrington. At the teen vogue fashion shoot things become disastrous, but Massie accepts Alicia back. Alicia learns that being an alpha is hard work. It ends with a perfect night at a tree-lighting party for their school, but it is ruined when Massie finds out that the Lyons (Claire’s family) is moving to Chicago. I thought it was a very intense battle between Massie and Alicia. I thought the hate mural the Pretty Committee made of Alicia was creative even though it was extremely mean. I wasn’t expecting the teen vogue shoot to turn out into a full blown fight, but it was a good idea for them to use it to show holiday stress. I really liked the happy ending and was shocked to discover that the Lyons are moving all the way to Chicago. I am curious to see what happens because I know for a fact that Claire is in future books.
I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first two, mostly because the Pretty Committee was split up, but I love the fact that Claire is now in, and that Massie is really starting to mature!
I loved everything about this one. The series just gets better and better. My favorite part was how the author left you on your toes every single second from start to finish. Now from here I’ve seen the series go in different directions with which book comes in when, so I’m going to use Wikipedia’s series order as my key for what to read when since it was the only one to list all of the books. So next I’ll be reading invasion of the boy snatchers. I hope it’s right because this has the potential to go so wrong.😂
This series is starting to get more boring by the book. They’re also so poorly written lol. This is the one where Alicia tries to start her own clique and it was so boring it took me so long to read lol. I think I’ll keep going but we’ll see if I make it through them all
I can’t believe what I missed out on when I didn’t read these books growing up! Smh! This was the best clique book so far. Loved the coup element from Alicia. Did not see this coming. Interested to see how the rest of the series goes bc there’s about 15 more books and the main character is moving away???
This is where the series took two notable turns in its plot formula. One for the better, one somewhat irksome.
Firstly, this is where the series became more of a comedy. There were still serious moments, but it became much more humor centered from this point on, and that was definitely an improvement.
Secondly, this book set off a running trend of something happening to Claire (usually dramatic) then getting rapidly resolved at the start of the next book, which usually had nothing (beyond the first chapter or so) to do with the preceding cliffhanger. In this case, Claire's family is set to move out of the guesthouse, just as the girls are finally all getting along and Claire and Cam have become boyfriend and girlfriend.
The majority of this plot centers more heavily on Alicia than the first two books. We learn she is eager to be in Massie's shoes as leader of the clique and has wearied of playing second string when she is richer and prettier. She hangs out with a dimwitted girl named Olivia who we were introduced to in the last book. When Massie exiles her from the clique temporarily, Alicia finds two girls who look similar to Dylan and Kristen to be in her new group.
This group eventually splits up and Alicia rejoins Massie's group, relieved to be second string again, now that she knows how tough being a leader is. The Massie/Cam/Claire triangle is resolved by Massie accepting Cam and Claire as a couple (after a few attempts to break them up) and growing to like Derrick, who she knows returns her interest, instead.

This book is amazing.... just like all of the other Clique Books. I can't wait for the summer collection to come out! This book is about how OCD has a fashion show to see who can make the best uniforms for the school. In the end, Alicia and Faux-livia win.... but they aren't supposed to. Read on to find out what I mean!
The story starts out with Alicia Rivera in dance class with her friend Olivia. She loves dance class because Massie isn't there, and so Alicia is the most popular and best dancer. After class is over, while everyone is in the locker room rushing to get out, Alicia begins to wonder why she is being bossed around by Massie, and Olivia begins to convince her to have her own slumber party at her house. Alicia begins to get tired of everyone being so obsessed with Massie, so she agrees to the sleepover because people can finally realize how great of an alpha Alicia can be. She plans for a sleepover at her house with just her, Olivia, and two other girls from her dance class. However, when she gets home, she feels a bit guilty about what she has done, so she doesn't want to ride to school with Massie in the morning, so tells Massie in an IM that she cannot carpool with her because of a "doctor's appointment. The next day at school, while Alicia is getting her books out of her locker and talking to the rest of the clique, Olivia, not knowing it was a secret, comes over and spills out all of Alicia's slumber party plans in front of Massie. Massie gets angry and calls Alicia an EW (Eternal Wannabe). She leaves with Kristen and Dylan, leaving Alicia feeling guilty for wanting attention. She wishes she had never bothered to start her own sleepover, but acts as though she couldn't care less. Massie notices this and is confused as to why Alicia isn't upset after their argument. Alicia and Olivia won the uniform contest and now are off to meet Lucinda and the rest of the staff at Teen People. Lucinda loves the looks of both girls and offers them a photo shoot near Christmas. Lucinda tells them to get pictures of their other "pretty-in-a-real-way" friends. Alicia is worried that Massie knew that they cheated, but brushes away the thought. Then Lucinda gives them both a Dixon, which she says Avril Lavigne will be breaking in on their cover. Alicia agrees to get pictures of her friends but would rather die than ask Massie. After the interview Alicia calls Massie while she is at the tanning salon with Kristen and Dylan and subtly brags about her modeling offer. Massie decides that the time is right to confront Alicia about cheating in the contest. Massie's parents decide to transform their barn into a gym. Massie claims the whole thing cost "a million dollars or something", which she explains as cheap. Before the mirrors go up, Massie, Claire, Dylan, and Kristen paint a mural on the walls of the barn, telling Alicia to come over because they need to talk. With the theme being "In with Claire, Out with Alicia" (this is part of Massie's infamous State Of The Union list), they humiliate her and Alicia gets kicked out of the Pretty Committee. After Alicia sees the mural, she runs outside crying. Todd (Claire's younger brother) and his little friend Nathan see her and promise to help her by spying on the Pretty Committee. Alicia and Todd strike up a deal leaving Rivera feeling a bit happier, and decides that the next day she will scout the school for more people apart from Olivia (whom she now calls Faux-livia as she bought fake Louis Vuitton scarves) to be in her new clique. Olivia also plays a small part in helping Alicia get Harris Fisher's phone number from his younger brother, Cam, and also helps Alicia find an "Unbelievably Pretty Committee" by looking for replacements for Dylan and Kristen. Soon Alicia makes a plan to win Dylan and Kristen back to make their own Pretty Committee. Faux-livia proceeds to be part of this group, for which she's very excited. Meanwhile, Massie still has a crush on Cam, and so does Claire. Cam asks Alicia to talk to Claire for him as he likes her, and she does, in front of Massie. Massie gets so jealous she makes Claire dump Cam, but her excuse was that Cam was an EW of Harris. Todd listens in on a sleepover with Kristen, Dylan and Massie while Claire sneaks off to see Cam (she ends up dumping him face to face). The three girls spill secrets, Massie's being that she used to have a crush on Cam. Todd tells this to Alicia, who tells Claire, who is heartbroken that she was made to dump Cam for no reason, so she begins to ignore Massie and starts hanging out with Alicia. Massie is now on her own as Alicia tells Kristen and Dylan that Massie told her the secrets, not Todd. However, on the way to the Teen People shoot dinner, Olivia accidentally spills that Todd spied on the sleepover and that he was the one who told Alicia the secrets. Kristen and Dylan quickly apologize to Massie via text messaging. Massie then arrives to the restaurant along with a few guys, including Derrington and Cam. At the dinner, Claire runs to the restrooms crying because she isn't with Cam anymore and she hates Massie, but Massie admits everything to her and they make up, to Alicia's anger. Claire and Cam also make up. Now all Alicia has is Olivia and two other girls who joined her group, Strawberry and Kori who had been replacements for Kristen and Dylan. At the photo shoot, "all hell breaks loose" and the girls fight on set. Alicia pulls Massie's beloved crown charm off of her charm bracelet, and when Massie realizes it's gone, she starts to cry. Alicia comforts her then gives it back, remembering she had ripped the bracelet off Massie's wrist and stuffed it in her boot. The two become friends again. Alicia gets rid of Kori and Strawberry, but not Faux-livia. Everyone is happy in the last chapter at the annual OCD tree lighting ceremony, until Todd tells Massie something he overheard. The Lyons family is moving to Chicago. Massie pleads Todd not to tell Claire, because "everything is finally perfect."
I read this book not in order with the rest of the series but whatever, it was still a fun experience.
So much drama, petty characters, and backstabbing. It’s just a good time and I had the ability to just watch a bunch of seventh graders hate each other. I want to read the other books in the series.
I’m giving this book 2 stars because the character of Lucinda grated my nerves. I did like reading about Alicia trying to form her own committee. The fight at the shoot made no sense.
This is peak early 2000s media and I fear I’m obsessed all over again. I think this is the first book I actually remember reading from this series as a kid but I had all of them whoops
