Brian Curtis came from less than nothing. He and his wealthy best friend, Hunter, spend every night with a different woman, drinking and drugs. By day, Brian is a talented tattoo artist but by night he’s a playboy bartender with a panty-dropping smile. He never sleeps with the same woman twice. He never remembers their names. And most importantly, he never gets emotionally involved.
Until Hunter’s half sister shows up in town.
Shiloh Stone and her best friend Melanie decide to ditch the cold winters in Massachusetts for the warm beaches of southern California. After losing her mother to cancer, Shiloh decides to spend her senior year in college closer to her brother. But, first, a much needed summer break by the beach is in order. Shiloh has always been too busy for serious relationships and she definitely isn’t the one night stand kind of girl.
Brian can think of a lot of reasons to stay away from Shiloh: she’s his best friend’s sister, she’s classy, she comes from money, and she’s way too good for him. But, from the minute he meets her, Brian is hooked. Getting involved with her would mean having to let down his guard, divulge his dirty secrets, and learn to love and be loved. Or it could just lead to nothing but heart ache. Can Brian open his heart or will he risk losing everything – including his life?
There were a few errors; but, other than that, I loved it. I was intrigued by the prologue and could not stop reading. It broke my heart to read about Brian's past. It explained how he became the man that he was - one night stands and drugs. Then, there is Shiloh who lost someone she loved and basically wanted to live life and start spending time with her brother, Hunter. So she and her BFF Melanie up, move and settle from Massachusetts to California. From the moment Shiloh and Brian looked at each other, both were gone. As with every love story, there is angst, demons, pasts that come back to haunt and a present rife with conflict, challenge, sadness, love and happiness. I love that Shiloh and Brian endured and have their happily ever after. I would love to have read more about Hunter and Melanie, Maureen, Matt, and Lance. Nonethelss, 5 Stars Read!
Cute story. And I have always liked his and hers pov. But this one wasn't done as well as i have read in the past. Sometimes the stories flow and told in alternate pov. With this book the dialog is repeated when stories get told through the characters eyes. So when you read s dialog expect to read the same one the following chapter.
How Can someone be on constant coke and go off it without withdrawal symptoms ?
Loved every minute of this book. Couldn't of ask for a better story line. It had everything you needed to make you fall in love with these characters. I would highly recommend this book to everyone....
DNF. The double perspectives is ok if it's done well. This is not done well. Readers don't need a play-by-play of the same scene from each of the characters. It was a waste of time.
