For years I've been secretly in love with my brother's best friend. Forde Dallas is the most commitment-phobic man I know and when our mutual attraction destroyed our friendship, I left for six months in hopes of putting some distance between us.

When I return home to our small Scottish island, Forde has undergone a transformation I'm not ready to believe in. Suddenly he wants to settle down and is determined to win back my love and trust.

However, I'm preoccupied with the suspicion that one of my ex's might be the man the police are hunting for in relation to horrifying crimes. For weeks I've been piecing together the puzzle that leads to him. When Forde stumbles across me in the middle of a dangerous mission to uncover the truth, we're forced together by a chance of fate.

As we're thrown into the shocking realization I may have solved a national man hunt, someone lurking in the shadows starts targeting us both.

Determined to live my life despite everything I'm facing, the one thing I'm not prepared for is Forde's persistence. He's there, supporting me, protecting me, and setting my world on fire with his passion. Even though we share a complicated history, I can't help but want to explore the searing connection that's existed between us for years.

But just when I think Forde and I have finally found something real together, we'll have to face our biggest fight yet. Because someone hiding among us doesn't believe we deserve our happily ever after...

Cameron + Forde

We already met them in the previous books.
Cammie is Quinn's sister. And Forde is the last single one left in our beloved hot guy best buddy group on the island.
They all grew up together. Forde was not only her brother's best friend, he was also hers.
But things changed. And it's been hard these past months and even years.
And now it's not only their attraction she has to worry about... bad people are after them.

The final book! *sadface*
It was just as great as the first three.
We have everything we need in our Sam Young romances: sparks, yearning, mystery, danger, excitement, island things, friends, family. All the things.
I loved reading this.
Another love story almost 20 years in the making. It's finally time our darlings to get their HEA. But a lot of bad people don't want that happening.
It seems like every time we turn around our two darlings find themselves in another dangerous scene!
Great mystery romantic suspense island love story!
I loved being back on that island with all the friends and family.
Like I already said about the first books:
Amazing location.
Perfect Cast!

Can't wait for the new series - we already met the first couple in here!

MIDNIGHT MOORING was the perfect final book in this amazing series!
Adorable. Funny. Sparky. Heartbreaking. Suspensy. Thrillerish. Dangerous.
Amazing location. Amazing cast!

★★★★★

Some books give you butterflies. Some give you a book hangover. And then there are Samantha Young books, which somehow manage to restore your faith in love while simultaneously making you cry over fictional people as if they're your closest friends.

Midnight Mooring was an incredibly special read for me, and I genuinely don't think I was ready for how emotional I'd get by the end.

I've been waiting for Cammie and Ford's story since the very first book. Their snarky banter, the tension simmering underneath every interaction, and the unmistakable feeling that there was so much left unsaid between them had me desperate to know what had happened between these two. The best friend's sister trope was already doing it for me, but add years of unresolved feelings, mutual pining, and two people who desperately need to learn how to communicate, and I was completely sold.

Cammie returns to the island after months away, determined to move on from Ford and the heartbreak she believes he caused her. But returning home also means confronting everything she has been trying to leave behind, including a terrifying mystery that pulls her into a much darker investigation. Samantha Young is the queen of romantic suspense, and the murder mystery gave the story a gritty, genuinely unsettling edge that kept me hooked alongside the romance. There was so much happening, but the suspense never overshadowed the emotional heart of the story.

I loved Ford’s character development so much. Seeing him recognise that he has issues he needs to work through, seek therapy, and actively try to become a better man was one of my favourite parts of this book. Not just because he wants to be the man Cammie deserves, but because he finally starts confronting the things that have been hurting both of them for years.

Men's mental health is so important, and I really appreciated the way the story explored how childhood experiences and unresolved trauma can shape the way someone approaches relationships. Ford isn't suddenly magically fixed, and I loved that his growth came from actually doing the work. There's something incredibly attractive about a man who is willing to look at himself honestly and take responsibility for his actions.

The flashbacks to Cammie and Ford growing up together made everything even more heartbreaking. Their relationship has so much history behind it, from the childhood crush to the years of yearning and the hurt that neither of them knew how to address. You can feel how deeply they care about each other, even when they're at their most frustrating. They both have so much to overcome, and watching them finally begin to understand each other made their journey feel all the more rewarding.

The yearning. THE YEARNING.

These two have years of tension to work through, and when everything finally comes to the surface, it is scorching. Their chemistry is unreal, the banter is everything I wanted, and I genuinely think Cammie and Ford might be the hottest couple in the series.
Samantha absolutely understood the assignment.

I also loved how the romance and suspense worked together. Cammie is dealing with something genuinely frightening, and seeing Ford show up for her when she's vulnerable reminded me that love isn't only about grand declarations. It's about being there, being dependable, and making someone feel safe enough to let you in. Even after everything between them, that underlying care and trust never completely disappears.

But the part that really got me was the ending.
Finishing a series is always bittersweet when you've fallen in love with the characters, but the epilogue of this book absolutely destroyed me. Seeing everyone three years later, happy, healing, and thriving made me so emotional. I was crying, but not because I was sad. I was just so happy for them. After following these characters through their struggles and watching them grow, getting to see them living the lives they deserve felt like the biggest, warmest hug.

The found family in this series has always been one of my favourite things about it. The friendships, the way the characters show up for each other, and the feeling that they've built something truly special together are just as important to me as the romances. It's the kind of community and love I hope to have in my own life, and saying goodbye to them feels like leaving a little piece of that world behind.

I devoured this book in four hours. FOUR. I should probably have taken my time, knowing it was the last time I'd get to experience this particular story for the first time, but I physically could not put it down. And now I'm left staring at the wall, missing everyone and wondering what on earth I'm supposed to read next.
Well. Almost everyone. 👀

Because Samantha has already started setting up her next series, and we got to meet some very intriguing new characters along the way. I'm saying absolutely nothing because I refuse to spoil anything, but if you know, you know. I'm already ridiculously invested in what's coming next, and I have a feeling one particular MMC is going to make a very strong case for entering my top three Samantha Young men. And the FMC? I cannot wait to watch her turn his world upside down.

Samantha Young has a special place in my heart because her books have a way of finding me when I need them most. When dating in this day and age feels particularly bleak and it's easy to wonder whether the kind of love we read about actually exists, her stories remind me why I still want to believe in it. The devotion, the yearning, the trust, the feeling of being truly seen and chosen. I know these are fictional romances, but the hope they give me is very real.

Thank you so much to Samantha Young for the beautiful PR package, and to Heartless of Hearts for the e-ARC and audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Scottish narration deserves a special mention, too. Sometimes I forget just how Scottish these characters are until I listen to the audiobook, and then suddenly I'm reminded all over again. The narration was wonderful and made an already lovely reading experience even better.

An easy five stars. For Cammie and Ford, for the girls, for the boys, for the found family, and for the reminder that sometimes the best love stories are worth every bit of the wait. I'm going to miss this gang so much.

🌊 Midnight Mooring – Samantha Young
⭐ 4.5/5

Brother's best friend, forced proximity, one bed, a swoony protective MMC AND a suspenseful mystery set in the Scottish Isles? SIGN ME UP🩷

I was so excited to get my hands on both the ebook and audiobook of Midnight Mooring, and experiencing the story through both formats made for such a wonderfully immersive read! Samantha Young has such a talent for blending romance with suspense, and this was no exception. The danger, mystery and unexpected twists kept me hooked, while the romance delivered plenty of delicious tension, yearning and heartfelt moments.

Cameron was everything I love in an FMC. Smart, capable, fiercely independent and never afraid to stand her ground. She doesn't need anyone to fight her battles, but she also recognises that accepting help doesn't make her any less strong. I loved that balance in her character.

And Ford?! Oh, this man tried SO hard to fight his feelings for Cameron 😂 His determination to keep his distance, despite being completely unable to stop caring about her, made their dynamic all the more entertaining. He's protective, loyal and fiercely devoted to the people he loves. And once he finally accepts his feelings? HE IS ALL IN 🥹

What I particularly enjoyed was how naturally the romance and suspense intertwined. Ford is determined to prove himself to Cameron, while she's navigating dangers and challenges that extend far beyond their complicated feelings for each other. The mystery kept me guessing, with enough red herrings to make me question my theories. And just when I thought I'd figured everything out… THAT TWIST?! 👀

Finally, the epilogue that brought everything together and gave the series such a satisfying ending! *chef's kiss*

🎧 A special mention to John Hartley and Zara Hampton-Brown, whose narration was absolutely fantastic. Having grown up in Scotland, I'm particularly fussy about Scottish accents in audiobooks (and have suffered through some questionable ones 😂), but these were spot on! Their performances felt effortless and authentic, bringing the characters and atmosphere to life beautifully.

⭐ 4.5/5 – an addictive blend of romance, mystery and suspense, with a strong heroine, a wonderfully devoted hero and an atmospheric Scottish setting. I was hooked from beginning to end!

Thank you to Samantha Young and House of Cards PR for providing me with an ARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

So…did I get this ARC yesterday??
Yes.
Did I just finish it??
Also yes!

Midnight Mooring is a brother’s best friend, hero and heroine in danger, forced proximity, one bed, small town, romantic suspense between Cameron and Forde.

I loved how Cameron will always stand her ground and doesn’t need anyone to stand up for her, but she also knows when to accept help. She’s a smart, strong, capable FMC, who doesn’t let anyone walk all over her. It’s so sweet watching her connect with Ford and she has such a good heart that cares about everyone. Definitely another favorite FMC for me.

I have to give it to Ford, he tried so hard to fight his feelings for Cameron until he couldn’t. He works hard to protect the people he cares about, especially Cameron. I loved that once he accepts his feelings, he’s all in, would do anything for her, whether she asks him to or not. If you love any of Samantha Young’s MMCs, Ford will definitely be another favorite.

Thank you so much to @authorsamanthayoung and @houseofheartslit for my arc, and thank you to Samantha for having me on your content team! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next.

Be sure to grab Midnight Mooring in bookstores or in KU on October 30th💙

WOW. This was the most perfect, breathtaking conclusion to an already perfect series. I adored these characters, I loved their story, and this book had me hooked from start to finish. I loved it so much!

I have loved this entire series wholeheartedly, and this couple took it to another level. it’s everything I wanted for them and more. The amount of pure heartfelt emotion put into this story was nothing short of mesmerizing. Cammie and Forde were a long time coming and I for one could not read this story fast enough. This story was so emotional, filled to the brim with secrets and regrets and most importantly, had a love story that brought me to my knees. And I loved – loved, loved, loved - the epilogue. It was so sweetly satisfying, so adorably romantic, to bring this brilliant series full circle.

Midnight Mooring a beautiful story of healing, redemption, and the power of believing in each other. It was romantic, emotional, and littered with a chilling mystery plot, suspense and smart humor that added balance and kept me hungry for more. I'm so sad to let go of these characters I've come to love so fiercely, but I could not be more thrilled with this book. This was an incredible series finale, and I’m so beyond excited for the next series!

Midnight Mooring by Samantha Young 🌊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Samantha you have done it AGAIN! 😭❤️
This was gifted to me early by the lovely Samantha Young, and I’m so chuffed to have been able to read it early! 🥹
This is Cameron and Ford’s story and the final book in the Scottish Isles series. I think this is the best one yet… but I keep saying that with every book she writes! 😂
secret Tattoo, heartbreak, miscommunication, mystery and investigations, there is so much going on in this book, You honestly don’t know what’s coming next, and I was completely hooked.
Cammie is such a strong character, and she and Ford are perfect for each other. I did NOT see that twist coming, and I never would have guessed it was that person! 😳
This book had me bawling my eyes out at the end, I also loved getting to see what all the characters from the previous books in the series are up to now. That was a nice unexpected surprise!
Another amazing read from Samantha Young, and a 5⭐️ read from me!

4.5 Stars!

Ugh! This book was utter perfection! Forde and Cammie had me tied up in knots. The longing...The push and pull...Those moments left me eagerly flipping through the pages. Yes, there were times when I wanted to knock sense into Forde and Cammie, but believe me when I tell you, these two were meant for each other. Both were a beautiful work in progress, striving to be better versions of themselves, and no matter how hard they tried to stay away, fate had other plans.

The road to happily ever after was definitely a bumpy one for Forde and Cammie. It wasn't just their hang-ups and insecurities that got in the way; darker forces were also trying to keep them apart. And let me tell you, their story wasn't without its share of mystery and intrigue. And while I had my suspicions as to who was behind all the bad things that happened, there were still some twists that blew my mind.

All in all, a satisfying ending to a beloved series. If you're a fan of small-town, older brother's best friend, and romantic suspense tropes, you won't want to miss Midnight Mooring.

The epilogue was amazing! It gave the whole series an HEA!

Midnight Mooring is book 4 in the Scottish Isles series by Samantha Young. If you’ve read the previous books in there series (highly recommend) you know we have felt the tension between Forde and Cammie the entire time. They have known each other since they were kids and have been friends for forever, but past hurts keep getting in the way of becoming something more. I loved the journey both of the characters went on to become better partners and a big yay for normalizing mental health professionals helping them get there!

Like the other books in the series there is a nice element of suspense running through it, with lots of twists! Overall I really enjoyed this story!

Thank you to House of Hearts for an advanced readers copy of this book!

This was an incredible story and a fantastic way to end the Scottish Isles series. I really enjoyed the way Young interwove the serial killer subplot with Cammie and Forde’s love story. It was so rewarding to see these two finally get together after so much avoidance throughout the series. And of course, the second epilogue at the end made me cry. I’m sad to leave this island, but I also can’t wait for the new Montrose Brothers series to come out next year; I think Torin and Brenna’s story will be beautiful.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

This one hurt my feelings in all the best ways. A brother's best friend, childhood friends to lovers, second chance, with a damaged MMC and an FMC in danger written by Samantha? Will hurt me so good.

We've seen Forde and Cammie in every book so far in the series. They're a firm part of the cast of characters that makes up the lovely family on Leth Sholas and we've witnessed the tension between them throughout. We finally get to find out what causes the tension in their own story when Cammie, after leaving Leth Sholas for a 6-month trip through Europe, finally returns to the island with a mission in mind. My first Samantha Young book is when I realized that I may like the romantic suspense genre and this one is no exception to that. It was written so well, and while in this one I definitely saw the twist coming (and was screaming into my kindle the whole time), I thoroughly enjoyed the very messy adventure these two go on to finally find their way to each other. How much I cried until they got there? A lot.

I knew I loved Cammie from the past books in this series. She's independent, sassy, and hilarious. In this book you also get to see her vulnerable side, and look through her perspective at the years of pain she went through watching Forde do everything (and everyone frankly) to avoid his real emotions. She held strong on who she is though and I loved watching her finally get the version of Forde she deserved.

Forde. Oh Forde. How he tried to do everything but act on his feelings for Cammie and the excuses he made to stay away. I really liked that he sought out therapy on his own, recognizing that he'd let everything he wants in life slip away in front of his very eyes because of the scars of his past. It was a messy route of course, but it was so rewarding when he finally decided to go for what he wants. What he wants being forever with Cammie of course. The result was so so satisfying and I will always love how Samantha makes the characters really work for their happily ever after.

The way this ended was extremely satisfying, and the epilogues (all very very spicy 🌶️) were SO GOOD. It was lovely to get these small glimpses to each of the couples at the end! And I loveeeee that she has given us a peek to the start of her new series because I am READY.

🎧 audio-specific review:

I've heard lotssss of books where Zara Hampton-Brown plays the British character (and she's so good at it), but I think this might be the first of her playing the Scottish accent? She was AMAZING. Even though I might not be the best judge of the accuracy of the accent, it was good enough to me that I could not tell that she wasn't Scottish! It made the whole immersive experience that much better, there's nothing that will throw me off of the story more than a really bad accent of any type.

I think John Hartley might be entirely new to me as well, and he did a great job with Forde! Again, the accent was perfect, and the tone, pacing, etc. were all bang on. Even though this was a dual narrated book, I thought both the narrators did a good job with the opposite parts so it didn't feel super awkward!

Thanks to Samantha Young and House of Hearts for the gifted copy — all opinions are my own.

This is the final book in the Scottish Isles series, focusing on Cammie (the younger sister of the MMC, Quinn in book 2, Drifting Dawn) and Ford.

I think this was a good end to the series. I like knowing that all the members of the pipe band 🥁 have all found their soul mates lol.

While overall I enjoyed this story, this is probably my least fave in the series and it's hard not to compare it to the other 3 books, and Twilight Tides is still my fave.

I think the biggest issue is the pacing, but I'm not even really sure there's a pacing issue? The way the plot played out made it feel like there was.

Without giving too much away, there's at least 3 major incidents, and while yes the writing downplays the first two since the third is obviously the MAIN drama/tension/incidents, the other two felt as though they were big enough issues for the MCs to deal with that it was difficult for me to separate that from the final one.

I know the first two are for plot development and to lay the foundation for the BIG one, but I guess to me those situations are a big enough issue (to my sensibilities) that it seemed like there were 3 climaxes 😂

It also took away from the character growth for the MCs both as a couple finding their way back to each other and then separately. Especially since there is some HEAVY stuff Ford is dealing with, I was disappointed at how little on page work you see him do. There is definitely growth, but it was more shallow than I hoped for.

I found the epilogue confusing at first, but possibly because of a glitch in the audiobook? You get the first epilogue from Cammie's perspective, and then a bonus from Ford's, but all of a sudden it switches to Murray going into graphic detail about him and London banging.

Obviously the point is to wrap up everyone's stories because the kids are teenagers and older but the switch was very sudden. (Also I just do not like spicy epilogues 😂)

And finally I was not a fan of the adoption storyline at the end. I won't claim to understand how adoption works in the UK, hopefully it's not as problematic as the US but it still wish it hadn't been used as a plot point.

I know that's a lot of negative but I promise enjoyed this book, and enthusiastically recommend the whole series, especially if you're a fan of sexy Scottish men (do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobooks 😩💦)

So, did I I start reading this ARC upon receiving it? Yes. Was I done with it within 6 hours? Also yes. Did I totally forget to eat lunch and dinner? Yes. But you know what, that’s ok because Cammie & Forde’s dramatic saga fueled me - body and soul. We got tiny hints about these two and their messy history throughout the entire series but their actual story was so much more torturously heartbreaking than I anticipated. I mean, Forde’s backstory is shocking along with being kind of horrifying and heartbreaking and definitely explains why he was the town man whore. Cammie on the other hand, I found her backstory very easy to identify with - especially the mother that obviously favors her son. I think out of all the FMCs in the series, Cammie is the one I identify the most with.

As for the actual story - this book launches into the mystery and action (through a flashback) right away. One of the things I absolutely love about Sam Young books is that they’re not just romance. They always have some sort of mystery/action sub plot that keeps you guessing until the reveal. This book definitely has some twists and turns that I did figure out before the reveal but there was one that I absolutely did NOT figure out and my theory was no where even close to the real reveal. This book also introduced us to the main character(s) of her next series and I already love Torin and am counting down the days until his book comes out (it’s also set to release the day after my birthday, so happy belated birthday to me!). I really liked that Torin was kind of a cheeky shit-stirrer in regard to Forde and Cammie. He knew they were both completely in love with each other but being way too stubborn to act on it so I always giggled a bit when Forde would blow his gasket when he saw him talking to Cammie. Like, dude, he’s doing that on purpose, go get your woman!

Since this was the last book in the series I wasn’t sure if we would get much follow up on the other couples but I was pleasantly surprised that every couple got their own little epilogue a few years into the future. I LOVED this! I loved seeing how all these characters get their happy endings and how life finally settles down for them after a kind of crazy few years full of murders, kidnappings, stabbings, a serial killer, etc. For such a tiny island Leth Sholas sure does attract a lot of craziness.

I;m sad to see this series end but I absolutely loved the way it did and I’ve already started reading another of her series (I’m working my way through her back catalog). Thank you so much for the ARC! Can’t wait for your next series and to see what’s going on between Torin and _____.

I rated all 4 books in this series - 5 stars and every book deserved each of those stars. This book definitely earned it with great romance and a suspense plot that made it hard to put down.

If you've read the first 3 books in this series, you've already met Forde and Cammie - two childhood friends turned crush turned enemies turned lovers. Forde and Cammie have been at odds in the previous books and it was easy to spot its because of jealousy. Both have been pining for each other since they were little but unfortunately, due to trauma from their past, they both skirted around their feelings until present time. We see Forde come to the realization that if he doesnt act now, he might not get another chance. So we see him try and earn Cammie's trust and become friends again which proved to be a big challenge as Cammie's a bit jaded when it comes to Forde now. But alas, alls well that ends well, these two cannot fight and pretend anymore and we see their love blossom as the book went on. The end right? Well not really. Like any Samantha book, its not all sunshine and rainbows because our girl Cammie has been through it. She has to deal with her conflicting feelings for Forde, discovering her ex was a serial killer (and doing everything to prove it), being a town paraiah, getting stalked and threatened, and more. Basically Cammie was in danger 90% of the book, I felt really bad for her. Dont get me started on issues with Forde. Lordy that needs another paragraph. This is an amazing love story that shows how Cammie and Forde fought through all these chaos and hardships and how they used each other as strength to survive.

Overall, I loved everything about this book. The side characters (previous couples) were great as usual. My favorite is still Quinn and Taran. Also can we talk about how good Quinn's reaction was to his bestfriend and wee sister got together? Masterclass for the other brothers in other books. Even guessing the villain was tough because there were so many implied and obvious suspects that I wasnt sure who was the sub. Plus points for the amazing epilogue to close out the 4 love stories and couples in this series.

If you are looking for a different small town romance with hints of mystery and suspense, I recommend any Samantha Young book particularly this series. It's the best!

Thank you to House of Hearts Lit for the eARC and ALC (which was so beautifully done btw - amazing narrators, loved the accent and appreciated hearing how the names and phrases should be pronounced).

Midnight Mooring is the fourth and final book in Samantha Young's Scottish Isles series, and what an incredible conclusion to this must-read series she has given us!

There is absolutely nothing I didn't love about Forde and Cammie's story. Midnight Mooring has all the romance, drama and suspense I have come to expect when reading a story penned by Ms. Young. Her beautiful, descriptive writing once again had me visualising every setting perfectly, while her characters captured my heart and the emotions she evoked in me were fabulous. I always have high expectations when picking up a Samantha Young book, and this bestselling author manages to exceed them every single time!

I absolutely LOVED getting to know Cameron and Forde better. These two are just perfect for each other, and watching them face their fears and fight for their happily ever after was a journey I wouldn't have missed for the world. My heart hurt when I discovered the reasons behind certain actions, but seeing the love, support and understanding that true friends give each other was just wonderful. It warmed my heart! I adore the interactions between this group of friends, and the residents of the island certainly didn't disappoint either. I love how nothing stays secret for long, yet when someone needs help, these wonderful people are always there for each other. Honestly, this is one of the things I love so much about small-town romance reads. There's just something special about a community where everyone knows everyone else's business, but when the chips are down, they have each other's backs.

I literally struggled to put my Kindle down whenever real life interrupted my reading time! This is one of those stories I could happily have sat and devoured in one sitting. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, and the undeniable chemistry and connection between Forde and Cammie had me completely invested in their journey. Samantha Young knows exactly how to draw me into a story, make me fall in love with her characters and leave me wanting more.

And that final epilogue? What an absolute treat! It was something I hadn't expected, and I couldn't have asked for a more fabulous way to say goodbye to these characters.

Thank you, Samantha, for yet another incredible series. I have loved every minute of my time in the Scottish Isles, and whilst I'm sad to be saying goodbye, I'm already looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us next!

Midnight Mooring is the last book in the Scottish Isle’s series and it has everything you could want in a book. To start we have forced proximity, brother’s best friend a mystery with danger featuring a side of unexpected twists kept me hooked.

Cameron and Forde’s storey delivers on all fronts, you have years of history and misunderstanding they both have to work through but when they do it’s fireworks, the romance delivered plenty of delicious tension, yearning and heartfelt moments.

Cameron is smart, capable, fiercely independent and never afraid to stand her ground. She doesn’t rely on anybody to help fight her battles, but with the help of her friends and Ford she’s learning that it’s ok to ask for help when you need it.

Forde has tried hard for many years to fight his feelings for Cameron, he’s tried to keep his distance but he’s never been able to stop caring about her. This made their dynamic all the more entertaining
Forde is always worried that because of his family history he’s never felt like he was worthy of her and her love that he could potentially repeat this mistakes his father made. He's protective, loyal and fiercely devoted to the people he loves.

I loved that the romance and suspense were naturally intertwined, there was no separation in the plot between the two of them. I also loved the flashbacks to the beginning of their friendship and the previous years where all the misunderstandings happened and how they were able to reflect and work through them.
Can we also talk about the ending of this book like you think you know who it’s gonna be and plot twist it just gets you ( brilliant writing).
This book made me want to fly over to Scotland find me the little island and stay for a while, the warmth that Samantha brings to the community of people to the area, it really makes you as a reader want to go and explore this beautiful place

Finally, the epilogue that brought everything together getting to see all the couples from the previous books was really the chefs kiss

Also, who’s excited for the next series dive into the lives of the Montrose Brothers

Thank you so much to Samantha, Young and House of hearts for the gifted ARC.

Samantha Young really knows how to deliver a romantic suspense, & Midnight Mooring was everything I wanted from the final book in this series! I've loved these characters & this little world in the Scottish Isles so much, & I couldn't have asked for a better ending.

From that prologue, I was HOOKED! Cammie & Ford have been building toward this moment for the entire series, & their chemistry is absolutely electric. The years of unresolved feelings, the banter, the tension, the YEARNING! These two have so much history, so much hurt & so many feelings they've been trying to ignore. I absolutely ate up every minute of their story.

I loved Cammie's strength & independence, but Ford's growth was one of my favorite parts. He's protective, stubborn & so clearly gone for this woman, even when he's fighting it. Watching him confront his past, take responsibility for his mistakes & put in the work to become a better man made their relationship that much more meaningful. And the chemistry between these two was SO good!

The suspense was fantastic, too! Samantha has such a talent for weaving mystery into her romances while still giving her characters so much emotional depth. The twists kept me guessing, & I was completely invested from beginning to end.

I listened to the audiobook performed in dual narration by John Hartley & Zara Hampton-Brown, who were phenomenal! They brought so much emotion & personality to these characters, & I loved their performances.

And that epilogue! The friendships, the found family & getting to see everything come full circle was so incredibly satisfying. I'm sad to say goodbye to this group, but Samantha gave them such a beautiful send-off. And while this series may be over, the setup for the next one already has me waiting with bated breath! We get to meet the first couple here, & I am SO ready for their story. I seriously cannot wait!

Samantha Young writes incredible novels and Midnight Mooring was one of my favorites! We've been watching the back and forth between Cammie and Forde since book one and it was finally time to see them shine. They both have changed so much since we first met them and I love how much they grown and developed throughout this series. Especially Forde!

Cammie could 100% become a detective because she is very attuned to clues and hints. For her to remember details months later and still be able to connect them is fascinating to me. I think her overall changes were sad because of her circumstances and i hope she can get the lovely, bubbly personality back in her future.

Forde has grown more into the adult we all knew he could be. I love the responsibile and self aware man he's become. Being forced to recognize he can lose the one person he needs the most really put a lot into perspective into life for him. If course he's still the Forde we all love, but more!

I definitely guessed the bad person in this novel when we first met the character but I was also stunned at the end when the full story came out! Definitely didn't see that connection ahead of time.

Loved the extended second epilogue and how all of our favorite characters are doing. So sweet.

And I also guessed that a secondary character was going to get their own series! So excited for that to release and see how that love interest pans out cause there is some tension!

So glad I got another masterpiece by Samantha Young and can't wait for more!

I’ve been waiting For Forde and Cammie’s story and they did not disappoint. You could feel the angst from these two in the previous books and the almost finality of it all when Cammie left Leth Sholas in the previous book.

Forde and Cammie have a significant history that is doused with childhood memories, friendship and so much chemistry. Cammie has loved Forde since they were kids, but they’ve also had a kinship over the years. One night many years in the past changed the course of that friendship.

Cammie’s time away has put things into perspective for her and her decision to let Forde go and move on. In the midst of this self reflection, she also discovers clues to solving Scotland’s serial killer and realizes this discovery is a lot closer to home than she bargained for. Forde took time to work on himself while Cammie was away. Her leaving Leth Sholas,as was probably the best thing that ever happened to him. It for ed him to realize Cammie was always the one he loved, but is his realization too late? Once he decides he’ll do everything in his power to finally be with Cammie, he’s all in. What transpires is friendship, soul deep love and realizing they are each other’s strength.

This book checked all my boxes. Samantha Young is so descriptive in her writing, you feel like you’re immersed in the story reading it in a cafe on Leth Sholas. She has a way of bringing the characters to life. Thus book had friendship, love, chemistry, danger, secrets and all the things that make a good book great!

Midnight Mooring was the perfect way to end this series!!! This is Cameron and Forde’s story and it was everything I wanted. She’s come back to the island after being away for six months and he’s determined to win back her trust. Only she thinks one of her exes is the serial killer who the police are looking for, she gets attacked, Forde seems to have a stalker, and she ends up staying with him so he can keep her safe.

I loved everything about this book! The tension was immaculate from the beginning. He was doing the work so he could be the man she deserved. Cameron was a badass, strong, said what she was thinking, and always tried to do the right thing. I’m so happy she gave Forde a chance to tell her about his feelings because the man yearned for her but she didn’t think he had feelings for her. This man had tattoos, was always there for her, and took care of her so much. He was so down bad and I’m glad he let himself be happy.

The suspense was so good and had multiple reveals!! I had my suspicions but the whole truth shocked me. Both the romance and the suspense kept me completely hooked.

We also got to see the previous couples, which I always love and the bonus epilogue with all of them was chef’s kiss!!! Plus we met the couple from the first book in her new upcoming series so now I’m extra excited for that one!!

This book has:
💙 brother’s best friend
💙 heroine & hero in danger
💙 friends to enemies to lovers
💙 forced proximity
💙 one bed
💙 small town
💙 touch her & d!e
💙 secret tattoo for her

This is the perfect way to wrap up the series. We know we’ll see more of them all at some point, Forde and Cammie finally work out their truths, and everyone survives! But it wasn’t an easy ride to get to this point.

First, Cammie is far braver than anyone thought she would be. She’s tough and smart and knows she’s got to have proof of her suspicions, so goes about getting them. Forde manages to be right place, right time to help, then he finally catches a clue and decides to make Cammie understand just how much she matters to him. Could he have done things differently before now? Yeah, but I get it. He’s got a lot swirling in his head to sort out and he will break your heart when you learn all of it.

Cammie also broke my heart a little. Her family issues really made me angry for her and the immediate assumption that she’s the instigator was just so awful to endure. She doesn’t have to do that alone though, and the person who is super quick to have her back is the one Quinn never expected. I love how thoroughly Quinn is dressed down for his blind loyalty to one who truly doesn’t deserve it, just as I love how Forde and Cammie learn to communicate to ensure that they aren’t acting blindly either.

The danger is definitely here, though, and the rescuing is exactly how it should’ve gone. It’s a surprise, but it’s so utterly selfless that I have to wonder if we’ll see the co-savior again? Maybe. Until then, I’ll comfort myself with knowing that Brenna has a story to share once she’s ready….

**ARC/ALC Review**

This is hands down my favorite of the Scottish Isles series!

I absolutely loved the sneaky, playful relationship between Forde & Cameron. Who doesn’t love a brother’s best friend trope?! Make them childhood secret lovers too and I am completely smitten.

The suspense in this one had me staying on the edge of my seat, especially n the beginning when Forde & Cameron are playing the cat and mouse game trying to figure out what is going on.

I love how supportive the friend group is for both main characters and the found family dynamic of the entire group, it makes it so special coming to the end of the series seeing everyone interact.

Audio: These books have me eagerly wanting to visit Scotland and see the places that inspired this series and many of Samantha’s other books, for myself. Hearing the narrators using their Scottish accents is something truly drool worthy and only heightens the entertainment experience. Some of the words make me giggle to hear. The narrators do a wonderful job making you feel like you are in the isles with the friend group and living the experience through their eyes. The spicy scenes are also just down right delectable with the accents. A huge thank you to must love audio for the early ALC!

Some of my favorite parts of this book include:
- The attic scene (I was NOT ready)
- The hurt/comfort trope
- Her brother’s reaction to finding out about Forde and the duration of their relationship
- FOUND FAMILY

Read this if you love a beautiful setting for a story, suspense, and romance that will knock your kilt off!

“Let it out, baby. Don’t hold it in. You can let it out You’re safe with me.” -Forde to Cameron

Tropes:
Brother’s Best Friend
One Bed
Forced Proximity
Protective MMC
Feisty MFC
Romantic Suspense
First True Love with angst

I am always THRILLED to get an ARC from Samantha Young. I know I am in for a top read that I won’t want to put it down. She is an author that knows how to offer us a wonderful romance, with that twisty suspense journey. This book had intrigue with mysterious letters, jealousy from a co worker, an ex that turns out to be a really bad guy, and a love from two people that have taken a long time to find their way together.

Cameron is such a strong MFC. She is a tough cookie, incredibly independent, and knows how to take a guy down when needed. She knows how to fight for survival.
Forde, is a bit of a stubborn man who took way too long to admit he and Cameron needed to be together, but once he did he was in for the long haul. He was certainly that protective MMC we love to see.

I love how Samantha knows how to write an incredible jaw dropping “WHAT” scene, as well as that spicy romantic scene. The suspense in this one had some turns I didn’t see coming and that makes the read that much more special.

This was probably the best series epilogue I have ever read. I loved every bit of it.

Thank you so much Samantha Young, and House of Hearts for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

“If anyone owns anyone here, it’s you who owns me. And let’s not pretend it hasn’t been that way for years.”

Samantha Young does it again with a romantic suspense that’ll keep you questioning people’s actions and have you suspicious of everyone on the page. While I can’t believe this series is over, I’m delighted to see all our favorite Scottish Isles residents settled and happy!

What a fantastic way to end this series. “Midnight Mooring” is an emotional, swoony and action packed brother’s best friend, age gap, second chance romance that wrapped up the “Scottish Isles” series beautifully.

From the moment I started reading, I could not put Forde and Cammie’s story down. The past three books we had gotten little snippets of these two and I couldn’t wait to start their story. Forde had a hard childhood with how he lost his mother and living with family afterwards didn’t make it easy because for some reason they blamed him. But he was resilient and made a life for himself on their small Scottish isle. Cammie had been on the isle her whole life and had developed a crush on Forde when he moved there and became best friends with her brother, Quinn. But there was always something on the back of his mind where he never thought he was good enough for her. I loved their history and reading the chapters from when they were younger. The chemistry they had was deep, meaningful and just waiting for them to acknowledge their feelings for each other. And once they did, the steamy scenes were fantastic. I loved the action of Cammie’s ex and all the terrible things he had done. And that was the thing that had brought them back together, especially after discovering someone else was targeting them. It was a thrilling ride and I was shocked by who it was. The ending was perfect and I loved the bonus epilogue checking in with the other couples.

Midnight Mooring is a small town romantic suspense with a dash of mystery. Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore this series and I loved being back in Leth Sholas. I was so excited to read Forde and Cammie's story and it definitely did not disappoint!

What you can expect:
💙 scottish setting
💙 brother’s best friend
💙 small town
💙 forced proximity
💙 slow burn

Cammie has been in love with Forde, her brother's best friend for over two decades and after six months away from home, she is determined to leave him in the past. Forde, on the other hand, has finally accepted that he wants a relationship with her. But things are complicated, especially with Cameron suspecting her ex of being a serial killer and Forde receiving threatening love notes.

I absolutely adored how perfectly intertwined the romance was with the looming danger and mystery. I have said it before and I will say it again: Samantha Young is the Queen of romantic suspense!

Midnight Mooring is such a wonderful conclusion to the Scottish Isles series and I loved Forde and Cammie so much!

I am very excited for the first book in the Montrose Brothers series, an upcoming spin off of the Scottish Isles series. Based on the small glimpses of Torin and Brenna in this book, I already have some wild theories and I cannot wait to see if I'm right!

Thank you so much to Samantha Young for sending me an advance copy!

The cherry on top of the absolute cake that has been this series!

I have wanted Cameron and Forde's book ever since I started this series. They intrigued me; their past and their relationship had me looking for clues in the other couple's books. And this? It was everything I wanted.

The angst, the pinning, the growth and acceptance of themselves and the other, the friends around them supporting them and rooting for them. They were honest; they restarted the friendship that grew into more, even when heartbreak and secrets had been obstacles for so long; their love made the happy ending possible.

I truly loved the suspense in this one. The way the plot moved and changed, only to twist in a way I never saw coming. How brave Cameron was, how Forde's past was still haunting him, the relationship Cam had with her family, and also the change Forde made that helped him deal with all the craziness. It felt like every little piece was part of a puzzle, and by the end we had the full, beautiful picture.

I have my eyes set on the new set of brothers we have been slowly meeting...Monterose men, one owning an island...an F1 brother...and an ex-MMA champion? Sign me up.

This whole series was a ten out of ten experience; it makes me yearn for the Scottish Islands. Thank you to House of Hearts and Samantha for the arc!

Thanks to Samantha Young and House of Hearts for the gifted copy — all opinions are my own.

I was so eager to get my hands on this last book in the Scottish Isles series. I devoured the first three, and this last was no exception. I was dying to read Cammie's HEA after her key role in the previous three books. (If you haven't read the others, I beg you to start with book one!)

This book follows Cameron when she returns to the Island after 6 months of travelling, and Forde, who has always loved Cameron, but had a lot of work to do on himself before he felt free to pursue her. Three cheers for positive therapy representation!!! This book includes several past POV chapters as well.

Cameron suspects a past casual lover of being an infamous serial killer and helps lead police to his capture, while simultaneously throwing herself under the spotlight for ridicule in her own community.

This book has it all: suspense, plot twists, spice, the most protective MMC, the bravest FMC, the best male + female friendships, healing relationships with parents, growth, and much more.

A special thanks from the bottom of my heart to Samantha Young for Epilogue #2!

Lastly, lots of hints and lead-up to the SY's next Scottish series, coming in 2027.
