Listennnn this book definitely got some emotions outta me cause I was PISSED OFF the whole book, I felt sooo bad for Lee mannn, JB really was the worse type of man . I loved how realistic this book felt, it literally felt like I was reading somebody’s diary or real life situation cause it really is a relatable to a lot of women life and how detrimental it could be falling for the wrong man and how loyalty will really have you in bad situations. I loved that Lee actually had good family and friends in her corner and how Van was there from the beginning. He never pressured her, never rushed her he was just so gentle and patient, exactly what Lee needed. I enjoyed this book a lot can’t wait to read more by this author.

Loyalty over Love
This was entertaining, but I was starting to think that Lee rode the short bus because there was no way she should have been torn between JB and Van. Honestly, JB shouldn't have gotten a second thought after what he did to her, but sometimes loyalty makes people stupid. My only issue with this book is I felt like too much time was spent in the relationship that wasn't going anywhere, and by the time she and Van truly get together, the book is over.
This was entertaining, but I was starting to think that Lee rode the short bus because there was no way she should have been torn between JB and Van. I’m so happy I read this book.
A new to me author I randomly saw someone mention on Threads and decided to read the synopsis. And man I’m glad I did.
First of all the setting for this book is my hometown. It was cool seeing familiar streets and neighborhoods in a fictional read. But more than that- the storytelling was engaging.
I felt Lee’s anxiety in the breakfast spot after her prison release. And the uncertainty about JB. Her naïveté was conveyed well. I really loved the side characters.
JB got what he deserved.
Van was EVERYTHING. Solid from the beginning, never wavering. His reaction and response at the pumpkin patch sealed the deal.
The slow burn of Lee and Van’s relationship was perfect. Realistic pacing to some degree. For two grown people who were not trying to waste each other’s time and play silly games.
I really enjoyed them and look forward to reading more from this author.

As Always I loved it!
I wish I can rate this more than 5⭐️ because it was 10s all across the board!!! Loved Lee’s story. And I definitely couldn’t stand JB!!! He thought he can be buy her love with material stuff and all else would be forgiven! Nope! Especially all the stuff he did. Ain’t no forgiveness. I’m glad Lee stuck to her word and kept looking forward and when you got a Grown man like Van in her life. Wasn’t no point of looking back on history!

Well Written
Loved this book. A first from this author. It was a real page turner. Lee was going through it and JB was always involved in that somehow. Seeing Lee’s journey play out was so rewarding. I could barely put it down finished this book in less than two days. Check it out!

This was a nice into to Alex Husb!
JB didn't get enough punishment for me, that sentence seemed so small in comparison. Lee and Van were couple goals and I honestly wished we got more of them as a couple and less of JB and Lee's drama.

this book is okay if you're alright with the cheating trope.
van was likeable, JB was unbearable, and the milk scene at the end grossed me out but it was an otherwise fun time
