Wag More Bark Bluebell Springs Book 2
A Small Town Grumpy Sunshine Romance

Maggie Holland came to Bluebell Springs for one reason—to catch her breath after calling off her wedding.

The charming mountain town looks like it fell right out of a Hallmark movie. It’s the perfect place to recalibrate before facing her well-meaning, but overbearing family.

The only problem?

Her chronically grumpy vacation rental host, local police chief Luke Mason.

He’s convinced that her pup who failed obedience school is guaranteed trouble and a valid reason to reconsider her reservation. He’s also highly suspicious of the wedding dress stashed in the back of her car.

If that wasn’t enough, they’re also next door neighbors.

But despite their best efforts to avoid one another, the town is just too small to let them.

Soon, traded insults turn into lingering glances, and Maggie realizes there’s more to Luke than just an icy exterior. She might even like him. Even worse, her dog has a giant crush on him.

But she knows all too well that vacation and reality are two different things. Her time in Bluebell Springs always had an expiration date.

Too bad her heart has other ideas…

If you enjoy small town romances packed full of heart, heat, and hilarity, with friendships that run deep, family–both blood and found–who always have your back, themes of healing and overcoming, and a loveable four-legged friend who steals the spotlight, then you’ll love the second book in the Bluebell Springs Wag More Bark Less.

I received an ARC of Wag More Bark Less by Caroline Stone, this was such a good read!
I absolutely loved Will Bark for Pizza, so I was super excited when I got this in my email! So, thank you so much!

This is the 2nd book in the Bluebell Springs series, and it’s a small town grumpy sunshine romance!

In this story, we follow Maggie and Luke.

Maggie and her dog Ellie impulsively flee to the town of Bluebell Springs to clear her head after calling off her wedding. She hopes that being here will give her the space she needs to get her life going again. Bluebell Springs looks like the perfect place for her to be, but she won’t be staying long.

She also might have a problem, and that problem is her grumpy vacation rental host, who is also the local police chief, Luke Mason.

Luke has it in his mind that since Maggie’s dog Ellie failed obedience school, that Ellie is trouble. This could give him a good enough reason to reconsider her rental. He’s also really curious of the wedding dress that he spotted in the back of her car.

Oh and guess what?
They are neighbors!

They try to avoid each other, but with it being a small town, that’s pretty hard to do.

After a little while, Maggie might be starting to have feelings for Luke. Her dog Ellie for sure has a crush on him, especially with all of the socks he is getting!

But Maggie knows that her time in Bluebell Springs will come to an end, or will it?

I absolutely loved this book! It was such a sweet story! I loved Ellie’s chapters, they were so fun to read! Luke and Maggie’s characters I adored! I loved the small town vibes as well! If you love small town romances, you would love this series! I highly recommend it! Definitely a 5 star read!
Thank you so much again to Caroline Stone for the ARC!

Okayyyy, somehow book two was EVEN BETTER than book one and now I’m officially obsessed. 😂 There goes my sleep schedule because putting this book down was clearly not an option. The banter had me cracking up, the spice was spicing 🌶️🔥 without taking over the whole story, and the storyline had me completely hooked. I ate this book UP!

🍁Fall Romance
🍁Runaway Bride
🍁Ex Military Hero & Heroine
🍁Grumpy x Sunshine
🍁Found Family
🍁Slow Burn
🍁He falls 1st…. And HARDER

Thank you Caroline for the chance to ARC read for you again!!!

I forgot just how bad I wanted to visit Bluebell Springs until I dove right back in. 🏔️

I can honestly say this is the first book I’ve ever read where one of my highlights was a recipe. 😂 I will ABSOLUTELY be recreating The Autumn Orchard this fall.

Speaking of fall… Maggie Holland just called off her wedding. She and Ellie Belly—service dog school dropout and emotional support sock extraordinaire—pack up and start their trek across the country, headed back to her family’s hometown in Michigan.

But before Maggie arrives and has to break the news to her family, she and Ellie make a pit stop to breathe and regroup.

Picture this….. Hallmark mountain town. Fall leaves in full display. Cute little bookstores and coffee shops. Cozy autumn vibes everywhere.

Yep. That’s Bluebell Springs. 🍁☕️📚

And Maggie just booked herself a rental there for a month.

There’s just one little problem…

Officer McGrumpy.

Luke Mason is broody. He’s bitter. But he’s also Maggie’s rental host AND Bluebell Springs’ police chief.

Can Maggie’s sunshine awaken the Force in Luke’s grumpy little heart? Or will Ellie Belly win him over first with her emotional support socks?

Ya’ll… I kicked my feet like a giddy schoolgirl with a crush. 😂 This was an absolute slow burn, but SO worth the wait. I’m ready to pack up me and my Nova girl, and book a rental in a small mountain town this fall.

Available for preorder now!
🍂 Release date: September 18th!

✨ARC REVIEW! ✨

If you’re looking for the perfect fall book I got the perfect book for you!

Thanks to Caroline Stone I was able to Arc for Wag More Bark Less which is the second book In the bluebell springs series, I was lucky enough to be able to ARC for her first book Will Bark For Pizza!

Wag more bark less is a sunshine- grumpy,Slooooooooooow burn! , x military, close proximity, Small town Romance.

Maggie the FMC is road tripping back to her hometown with her dog Elli after calling off her engagement 2 weeks before the wedding, but is also going home bc her younger sister is having a baby and she wants to be there to help with her two nephews, on the way to her hometown she rents an air Bnb in bluebell springs for a month to take sometime to be alone? It’s also Ellie’s birth place and she wanted to know more about where her dog came from.

Luke the MMC is the towns local sherif, he’s also the owner of the air Bnb that Maggie is renting. Hes grumpy, his ex fiancé left him the day of his wedding to where he has to announce to the whole church the marriage wasn’t going to happen he’s been a little bitter ever since.

Luke and Maggie got off on the wrong foot from the start, but with close proximity and a dogs determination to get her Forever mom & forever dad together, no matter who much you tried to avoid someone a small town can be quite smaller.

This was a great love story! Seeing both the characters work out their own personal issues and still come together In the end was beautiful!! 😍

I highly recommend this book it comes out September 18th!

Wag Less, Bark More touched my heart in a way I wasn’t expecting. Eillie Belly, with her sweet little sock she gives to people who are sad, completely stole the show for me. That simple gesture says so much about the kind of unconditional love and comfort that dogs can bring into our lives.
I especially loved watching the two main characters slowly thaw as the story unfolded. Both carried their own walls and wounds, and neither was quick to let the other in. Their relationship developed naturally, little by little, until those walls began to come down and they slowly fell in love. It made their connection feel genuine and incredibly touching.

And then there’s the special place this story holds for veterans. That part resonated deeply with me. The way the book recognizes the sacrifices, struggles, and humanity of those who have served gives the story an added emotional depth that stayed with me.

Between Ellie Belly, the sock for those who need a little extra love, the slow-burn romance, and the heartfelt connection to veterans, Wag Less, Bark More is a beautiful reminder that sometimes healing comes in unexpected forms — and sometimes a dog can be the one who helps us find our way back to happiness.

This is a story that made me smile, warmed my heart, and reminded me why dogs truly have a special kind of magic. 🐾❤️

Everything I was hoping this book would be. So worth the wait. I’ve never cried over a chapter from a dog’s POV before until now.

Thank you for allowing me to read Wag More as an arc.

Okay, this book was just FUN.

I loved Maggie and Luke. Their banter was fantastic, their chemistry worked, and I actually laughed while reading—which is always a win for me. It was funny and sweet without feeling like it was trying too hard to be either.

But Ellie absolutely stole this book for me.

Ellie is Maggie’s dog and a service-dog-school dropout who is VERY smart and apparently retained quite a bit of her training. And we get her POV!

Her observations and interpretation of the ridiculous humans around her had me cracking up. She has her own little personality, her own opinions, and her own way of understanding what’s happening—and I loved being inside her head.

And THE SOCKS. 😂🧦

If you know, you know. That is all I’m saying because everyone deserves to experience the socks for themselves.

I also loved that Ellie’s POV didn’t feel like it was just thrown in as a cute gimmick. She genuinely felt like part of the story, and honestly, some of my favorite moments came from seeing everything through her eyes.

The banter, the humor, Maggie and Luke, Ellie’s commentary…it all just worked for me. This was one of those books that was simply a really good time to read, and sometimes that’s exactly what I want.

Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a funny, sweet romance with great banter, lovable characters, and a ridiculously smart dog who probably deserved to graduate from service dog school.

5 stars. Justice for Ellie. Give that girl her diploma. 🐾

Some romances give you a great couple. This one gave me Maggie and Luke plus Ellie, a service-dog-school dropout who somehow became my favorite character. I laughed so much while reading this, and I honestly never knew what Ellie was going to come up with next.

Maggie and Luke were such a fun pair. Their chemistry was effortless, and their banter had me smiling throughout the book. I loved that the humor felt natural and blended so well with the sweeter moments instead of making the story feel like it was constantly trying to be funny.

Then there’s Ellie, who completely won me over. Getting her POV was such a fun addition because she has a very definite personality and her own interpretation of the humans and situations around her. Her observations were hilarious, and she brought so much to the story that she never felt like a gimmick or a cute side character. Some of my favorite moments were because of her.

And yes, I am talking about the socks. If you know, you know. If you don’t, I refuse to spoil it because that is a moment you need to experience yourself.

Overall, this was just a genuinely fun romance. Maggie and Luke had the chemistry and banter, Ellie brought the comedy, and the whole story had such a light, feel-good vibe. It was exactly the kind of book that leaves you smiling when you finish, and I absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for a funny, sweet romance with an unforgettable four-legged character.

Just like Will Bark For Pizza this book is perfection!

Literally did not put this down from the time I got the email.

I love Maggie "Karen" Holland entire personality and even though the crazy situation that brought her to Bluebell Springs she was always meant to be there. Luke "grumpy jilted never going to let a woman in" Mason is literally the definition of grumpy jerkface and is also the chief of police for Bluebell Springs. We cant forget our service dog drop out Ellie (ugh LOVE her)

There's chaos, a sock loving dog names Ellie, small town fall vibes, and a sense of finally feeling like youre home in this book. Ellie seems to know things the humans dont and honestly dogs are pretty spot on with their senses. I adore that we get Ellies POV just like we got Huskers and they are hillarious and totally heartfelt from the get go.

Overall this is the perfect feel good, kick your feet, hillarious small town romance you can ask for. While it will pull your heart strings pretty tight and have some tears forming. I recommend picking this up when you have a day to just sit and read.

This will have you pulled in and emotionally invested from the first page.

I literally have 0 notes. I cant wait to see what happens next in this series!!

Thank you to Caroline Stone for the E-ARC! This review is 100% my honest thoughts!

I loved Wag More Bark Less! 🐾💕 It was such a cute and endearing love story, with just the right amount of quirkiness. The dog POV might sound a little unusual, but honestly, it made the book! The dog’s perspective added so much personality and made the story that much more fun and enjoyable.
I really liked the overall storyline and the chemistry between the main characters, but I did feel like their love story was just getting started when the book ended. I would have loved a little more depth in their relationship and more time to really build out their characters and connection.
The main challenge in their relationship also happened pretty close to the end, so I felt like we didn’t get to see enough of what they were going through while they were separated. The book then jumped ahead about a month, and suddenly everything was happy again. I would have liked to see a little more of that emotional journey and how they worked through everything.
That said, overall, I really enjoyed this book! It was cute, rom-commy, quirky, and kept me wanting to keep reading. 🥰 If you’re looking for a fun, lighthearted romance with an added bonus of an adorable four-legged narrator, I definitely recommend giving this one a try! 🐶❤️

Wag More, Bark Less completely stole my heart. 🐾❤️

This book has everything I love—small-town charm, humor, heart, wonderful characters, and one absolutely unforgettable pup. Ellie’s perspective was easily one of my favorite parts. She is sweet, hilarious, occasionally a little too observant for everyone’s own good, and somehow manages to make every scene even better.

I loved the military-town feel and the sense of community throughout the story. It had those cozy, feel-good moments that make you smile, while still giving you characters and relationships you genuinely become invested in.

And Ellie? She deserves her own fan club. 😂🐶

This was such a fun, heartwarming read and one of those books that leaves you smiling when you finish it. If you love small-town romance, lovable characters, plenty of humor, and a scene-stealing dog who basically runs the show, add this one to your TBR.

Caroline Stone has officially become an author I’ll be watching for. I already want more! 🐾📚❤️

This was a technical 4.5 stars for me! After a long wait, we arrive back in Bluebell Springs, Colorado! I was so excited to see that Caroline Stone picked me to be an ARC reader after I was one for the first in the series- Will Bark for Pizza. This inter- connected stand alone did not disappoint! We follow Maggie and her adorable pup Ellie as they try to escape to Bluebell Springs following a tough break up. Maggie is renting the duplex which belongs to the grumpiest police chief- Luke. The story dives into personal relationships(past and present), love, and what the meaning of ‘home’ is for everyone. I loved reading Ellie’s chapters which is always a sweet way of seeing people through dogs’ eyes. I do wish that more of the town people (whom I came to love in the first book) had more of a part of this story, as well as Luke’s extended family. Ellie also could have used at least one more chapter toward the end. If you want a slightly spicy rom- com… check this series out- I cannot wait for the next one!

Give me a grumpy small-town police chief, a sunshine girl running from a canceled wedding, a mischievous dog, and forced proximity… and I’m in. 😂💕

Maggie impulsively escapes to Bluebell Springs with her dog Ellie after calling off her wedding, hoping a little distance will help her figure out what comes next. What she doesn’t expect is her grumpy vacation rental host, Luke Mason—the local police chief who seems determined to make Ellie’s “failed obedience school” record a personal issue.

I loved watching Maggie find herself again while Luke slowly let his guard down.

The chemistry, the banter, the forced proximity and of course Ellie made this book so enjoyable!
It’s the perfect small-town romance with lovable characters, a little chaos, and all the warm, feel-good vibes. Bluebell Springs is definitely becoming a place I want to visit again! 💕

Thank you SO much @carolinestone for this ARC. I've been lucky enough to read both books in this series as ARC's. I'm forever grateful!

Ellie Belly Sockies

Wag More Bark Less
By Caroline Stone.

Ellie Belly Sockies

We finally get to follow Kira’s (Will Bark for Pizza) brother from Luke!!!
Oh Luke, our hometown police chief gets into a Pickel with his latest duplex renter. I love that this opened up with Luke chasing out a crow 🐦‍⬛.
Maggie (Magnolia) ex army and Ellie Belly her Burmese mountain dog she rescued from Bluebell springs at Paws of Purpose is the new renter for the month.
I can’t get over Ellie belly’s chapters. I just love her and her obsession with a certain garment. In her chapters she calls Maggie, Forever Mom ☺️ you’ll have to read it to find out what she calls Luke.
I want an Ellie Belly hug. 🫂 one of my favorite parts of the book “Episode IV.” “I don’t follow your logic.” “This is the first movie that came out, and the only place a true Star Wars fan begins the saga. Anyone who says otherwise can’t be trusted.””
This and Will Bark for Pizza are absolutely 5 star reads and MUST be read!! Can’t wait for the next in the series.

I was given an ARC of Wag More, Bark Less, the second book in the Bluebell Farm series by Caroline Stone, in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book just as much as I loved the first one! ❤️ It’s such a cute, heartwarming story about finding love in the last place—and with the last person—you ever expected.

Maggie and Luke’s story completely drew me in and kept me hooked from beginning to end. Their chemistry, the sweet moments, and the unexpected twists made this such a fun and feel-good read.

And of course, we cannot forget Ellie! 🐶 Maggie’s lovable, smart-as-a-whip dog absolutely stole my heart. She added so much personality and plenty of adorable moments to the story.

If you’re looking for a sweet, charming romance with lovable characters, unexpected love, and an unforgettable four-legged sidekick, Wag More, Bark Less is definitely one to add to your TBR! 💕🐾

Its a cute story I loved the banter between these two. After everything that happened when they say that they are "just friends." like really?? Do you even believe that? Like your not convincing anyone. Ma'am he risked his career for you he doesn't want to be "just friends."
I find it odd when people are so nosey like why? Do you not have things going on in your life you gotta be all up in someone elses? I don't know maybe it's just a me thing.

Oh my god! I love that theres a dog pov i've never seen that in a book before. It was so freaking cute when Ellie was acting like the parent at bedtime.
The first time a pov hurt my heart so much was of course the dogs pov like why!

I genuinely enjoyed this book it's light hearted story.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Recieved ARC from Author on TikTok. A Runaway Bride x 2. Tou will have to read the story to know what I mean. This is the second book by Author I have had the privilege to read. The first, "Will Bark For Pizza". I prefer the 2st book because I prefer closed door romances. This on the other hand will be more detailed content. I loved the story though between these two characters and this small community. Again love how she puts the dog's commentary in the story. It's a playful story, but yet gets to the raw pretty quickly. Like I said, although I am not a fan of sexual content in detail in a book, if the story is viable I will read through it, enjoying the main plot. Thank you Ms. Stone foe including me in your ARC team. Your stories are quite entertaining!

ARC REVIEW

I got Wag More Bark Less as an ARC copy.

I really liked this book. The banter between Maggie and Luke was great. Also, the unspoken banter between them and Ellie definitely added more to this story.

Ellie was definitely my favorite character in this book. I loved her POVs. She is a sassy, fun, and all-around beautiful soul. She was very in tune with people's emotions. I love that she uses socks to show that she cares for people. I think we all need an Ellie in our lives.

I will say there is one part of this book that I didn't like. That was the interaction between Maggie and Kira, Luke's sister.

This book was definitely a great read. It is also an easy read. It is a quick pace book. I can't wait to see what Caroline has in store for the next book.

I received an ARC of this book and I LOVED it from beginning to end!

The second book in the series did not disappoint. The main characters were absolutely perfect, and I was obsessed with the slow-burn romance. And of course, the little chapters from the dog’s POV were the cutest addition.

I will forever be a sucker for a small-town romance, and this book had everything I love about them—the cozy fall vibes, the welcoming community, and that feeling of wanting to pack my bags and move to the town immediately.

The pacing was perfect, I was hooked the entire time, and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!

"Wag More Bark Less" is an absolute gem that perfectly balances heart and humor. Caroline Stone has a wonderful way of bringing characters to life, making you feel deeply invested in their journeys and their connections with their furry companions. The story is incredibly engaging, and I found myself completely swept up in the warmth and charm of the Bluebell Springs setting.

The writing is seamless and easy to get lost in, capturing the essence of what makes a great contemporary romance. The pacing feels just right, allowing for meaningful character development without ever feeling stagnant. It is rare to find a book that feels this comforting and uplifting while still maintaining a compelling narrative arc.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone looking for a story that feels like a warm hug. It is a delightful read that stays with you long after you turn the final page. I will definitely be looking out for more from Caroline Stone in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As the second book in the Bluebell Springs series, Wag More Bark Less follows Maggie and her service dog dropout, Ellie. The pair goes to Bluebell Springs in search of some time away to reset.

Maggie runs into a problem when she arrives in Bluebell Springs. The problem? Her grumpy vacation rental host, Luke. Luke also serves as chief of police in the small town.

The banter that the two share throughout the book is unmatched, making this the perfect fall romance read. I couldn’t put it down once I had started. 🍁

Warning: Ellie may steal your heart ❤️

I really liked the first book and this book was just as good to follow the first. I just really liked the writing style of this author. It’s funny and makes you feel all the feels. It’s a great balance of plot, romance, and humor. Again I love the dog POV. I don’t personally have animals but it was so adorable and a love how the dog is a main character. A runaway bride coming up on her should-be wedding day and a groom left at the altar 3 years ago who swore off women. Recipe for disaster? They were destined for a rocky start but Ellie Belly(the dog) knew from the start what would happen.

This was a fast, engaging read! I devoured this and Ellie's chapters were the absolute best. I laughed, almost cried and swooned.

I was graciously given the opportunity to read prior to release day, and happy to share my honest, genuine review 🤍

Oh this was so stinking cute! Luke and Maggie are the perfect example of ‘I don’t want to bother anyone so I’m going to not say anything and just suffer with my feelings’ people. I’m so glad they BOTH had people around them to talk some sense into these two. Also, Ellie is the bestest doggo in the whole wide world 🧦
