Life is never simple in the world of politics. The pressure is on Senator Candace Fletcher to make a run for the governorship of New York State. Everyone seems convinced it's the right move for the affable senator. Everyone that is, except Candace. Life took an unexpected turn for the senator when she met and fell in love with Jameson Reid. Jameson isn't certain what is holding her lover back from pursuing the new role. She suspects Candace fears the change might damage their relationship. Can she prove to Candace that their relationship is built on a Solid Foundation?
Yep just finished instalment number three and the laughs keep coming. Especially about Gollum the ankle biter. Read you'll be rolling up. This author should consider a new career in stand up comedy. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. So thank you J.A. Armstrong please keep them coming.
Part three of Candace and Jameson life was less interesting than part one and two. It’s an nice read with some witty dialogues. This time Candace has to decide if she will run for Governor and if Jameson will be OK with the couples relationship put more in the open. And how they build their life together.
What’s a little bit annoying, the author write their names way too much, always Candace did and Jameson said. The author should use some other designations or sometimes just «she». I still like this series and I will continue to read.
The serial series continues. Candance is making the decision of whether to run for governor of NY. J.D. (Jameson) continues to be the most thoughtful and supportive partner. This one has lots of fun dialogue. Everything from the nerves as J.D. proposes marriage and the announcement of the family expanding. I'm getting more addicted to this KU novella series and find myself looking for the next book when I have a pile of other books to be read.
This well written third installment in the story of Candace and Jameson follows the women as pressure mounts on Candace to move from a Senate seat to the gubernatorial race. Other characters are becoming more developed and more influential in the women's lives. Something seems to be holding Candace back. Will the campaign trail damage their relationship? What other surprises are in store for everyone? The engrossing storyline flows from the pages and right into your heart, making this a must read. (Although this is just one installment in the series, it's no cliff-hanger.)
“It’s true. You can build a strong, majestic ship, Candace. It isn’t worth its weight nor its grandeur if you never sail it. You can’t ever hope to see the world if you are too afraid it will sink.”
Honestly, J.Humour is such a delight to indulge yourself in and it has been so consistent through all three books. Meanwhile I found this one slightly less interesting than the first two, it is still a very, very satisfying read.
One of the main reasons I am absolutely ensnared by this series (Outside of the amazing humour) is the dialogue. It's either a hit or miss for some people, but for me, it just makes it incredibly enjoyable. The way J.A fleshes out the arcs secondary characters as she weaves their plot into the main plot, is just a work of art.
I love the snarkiness and inside jokes the characters have in this series. 'Bible study' and 'Gollum' being really good ones. If you wonder what that is read the series. Not just the book but the whole series. Armstrong creates real and likable characters. She uses humor in the right wayto make thesebooks throughly enjoyable.
This is probably the best installment in this series so far. It is full of great humor, but, even more importantly, it's also packed with heartwarming moments between several of the characters, driving the character development of the leading ladies and a few of the supporting characters to new heights.
JUST ABOUT RIGHT😍 I'm so glad that this series is so consistently correlated. It makes so easy to pick up where you leave off. I'm reading 📚 the books by Jade Winter's, and K.L. Hughes. And others. So when I choose to return to the By Design series; it's so refreshing to be able too dive in and relax with familiarity. 😎.
Intelligent women, great story, witty banter, great characters all around - what more could you ask for? So far, the series is much more focused on their lives and family than their jobs, so there's nothing to worry about having architecture or politics taking anything away from the story.
Plot: In this “book” Candace continues to consider running for office. They spend the whole book being unsure about what to do before deciding on the obvious choice.
Characterization: Candace his considerate to the point of annoyingly doing nothing.
Jameson is barely a character.
Writing: This was written in third person perspective. This was full of typos and barely counts as a book.
Any book that leaves me smiling is a 5* to me! Can't wait to dive into Rough Drafts.
The continuing love story of Candace and Jameson is just what my heart needs. I am very much looking forward to the time when Candace and Jameson collide with Alex and Cassidy!
I will just continue to sit her with a sigh and a smile on my lips!
4.5 stars. Love, love, love, LOVED this one! Candace and J.D.’s wedding was wonderful and we’re getting more development and growth from all of the characters and I’m just kinda obsessed with this series now. I really adore all of these characters and their dynamics with one another but mainly it’s the healthy and loving romance between Candace and Jameson for me. I can’t get enough.
This story lives up to its title and established the series firmly in my want to read list. The family is fleshed out in this book and the family comes together. The characters are further developed, with the increase this is an important story in the series.
I'm so excit3d to be part of this series. It's so engaging, and funny, and feels real as the characters are so lovable and easy to connect with. In on to book 4...😁
one of the main reasons I like JA Armstrong is her humour. She always has characters that have a little wit, a little sarcasm, and lots of love. The lack of perfection is exactly what makes them human and realistic. Theres a lot of authors that write great romance but JA writes great series because you care more than is it a Happily-Ever-After, you need to know their entire life turns out okay, and you worry about their well-being as a person (Despite the fact they're really not...).
On this book a lot happens to make their foundation even more solid, I think. Candence makes professional decisions and Jameson is her lovely self when it comes to her new role in the life of Candence's childrens and I love it.
Life progresses for the Fletcher-Reid clan. We get to know the family better and be part of its growth. JA Armstrong hit the jackpot with this series and I can't wait for more.
I liked this book very much. I loved how everyone gets along and the banter between all of them. I love how Jameson is protective with Candace kids. Can't wait to read the next book.
