Love at Work #2

And Then You

Rate this book
One night changes everything for both of them…

At age twenty-five, Evianna Halle has a master’s degree and a broken heart. In an effort to move forward, she accepts a job as a live-in nanny for Nicholas Wilder, a recent widower with a young daughter. But when she meets Nick, her young and kind-hearted employer, she realizes that maybe the universe brought them together at just the right time for a reason, even if it’s unconventional.

Day by day, they learn to heal as one. Nick and Evi discover that perhaps friendship (and eventually love) can overcome heartbreak of the worst kind, even if that means abandoning the life they thought they'd live and embracing a new, unknown future.

And Then You is an emotional contemporary romance about unexpected love—and finding your way again when you thought everything good in your life was gone forever.

Another almost not finished.
First I don't like this type of romances when one person dies and then the spouse goes and finds this other person who conveniently is also the love of their life and so so damn perfect and gets along with everybody- the kid, the dead wife parents. Yeah right.
Guess I'm a selfish asshole. Whatever. If I'm dead you shell forever be miserable.

Second the heroine:
- deals with cheating boyfriend in such a way well.... poorly....you find your boyfriend and best friend in your bed naked at least you set them on fire or something well no she sits by him and whines why did he cheat and why with her and why did he choose her... blah blah blah...
- she cries more than the kid she is babysitting
- she is a little miss perfect; annoying

The beginning of the book was good then everything fell apart.

I remember the other book I read by this author and she can write a good story. She has good moments but somehow losses them here.
If you want no angst, sweet second chance romance sure why not read this.

Nope definitely did not like this one. I went into this book expecting some really cute slightly heart wrenching book about a widower finding love again what I got was a stupid nanny who did not do her job (I mean she did not do anything, literally anything. She was more like a guest at the Wilder house than a nanny) and who fell in love with her employer in two seconds after meeting him. I mean I'm not against love at first sight but this was just stupid. I did not feel any connection with any character. Evi was one of the most annoying character I've met in a while. I definitely won't be reading this one again.

¡Que bonito libro! Me lo devoré bastante rápido, me encantó la premisa y como fue ejecutada. Claro que es cliché pero tiene bastantes enseñanzas y reflexiones sobre la perdida de un familiar o un duelo que lo hacen especial.

Wow, just the prologue had me in tears and I knew this book was going to be one of those. Ms. Richardson, you did not disappoint!

Nick Wilder has been to hell and back yet he knows he has to keep living; if not for himself, for his young daughter. Due to his job he's not able to take care of her as he wishes so he places an ad for a live-in nanny and, let me say, his life will never be the same after that ad!!

Evi's heart has been broken brutally and after giving herself some time to wallow in self pity, she answers an ad for a nanny position. Little did she know that her life was about to change infinitely. I was laughing so hard when Nick and Evi were emailing back and forth that my hubby asked me, “What's so funny?” I tried explaining but he just gave me a look like, ‘just go back and keep reading and enjoying your book.

I could imagine how hard it must have been for Nick to bring another woman into his daughter's even though it was strictly business. The chemistry between the two of them was so HOT that I had to put my tablet down to cool myself down!

This was a beautiful story of continuing to live, not only for someone else, but for yourself and your own happiness. I loved how Nick and Evi actually spent time together and got to know each other, seeing not only the good qualities but also the imperfections! Thank you for such a beautiful story of second chance love, Amanda Richardson! ~ Kara, 5 stars

This book is definitely a surprise package. Never thought it would turn out to be such scintillating piece of art. There are so many lines in the book which I've jotted down because they touch ur heart . Loved the characters both Nick and Evianna and also the toddler Bria is so innocent and also playing the major part of their life .Both Nick and Evi trying forget their past and looking forward to moving on in the future together. Adored the way Nick is such a gentleman and how he take things slow and steady with Evi. Evi fell in love with him when he punched Dan.. that dialogue was awesome :) Overall I am gobsmacked by the story line and I am looking forward to more such amazing stories by her :) Trust me this story is a gem! If u have loved and lost then this book will make u believe in love over again :D

I received a copy of this through NetGalley for my honest review. I rather enjoyed this sweet, contemporary romance. The prologue pretty much shredded my heart, and I was sure I was in for an angstfest, but that's not where this story went. We have our hero who suffers a tragedy in which he loses his wife and young son. He is left to raise his daughter. Then we have our heroine, who instead of getting an expected proposal from her boyfriend of many years, finds out he's cheating with her best friend. She ends up becoming the nanny for our now single dad - queue the love story. I'm not sure how the author managed this, but we have instalove coupled with one hell of a slow burn. This wasn't about sex/lust...this was truly a love story, without a whole lot of angst, but rather the realities of two people coming to terms with their own losses, trying to compete with the "perfect" dead wife, dealing with a child who they both want to protect, and battling their own feelings for each other.

Beautiful love story

Nick tragically lost his wife and infant son in a car accident and his surviving 3 year old daughter is in need of a nanny to care for her. His mother in law, Cecelia, who's been caring for her granddaughter for a year since her daughter died interviews 25 year old Evi, who's suffered from a recent heartbreak herself. Unbeknownst to both Nick and Evi, Cecelia plans on Evi filling more than just the nanny position.

This was a heartwarming and tender love story. I love these type of romances. I live for these types of romances. I swooned over Nick throughout the entire book and walked around with a silly grin as I read each page. I have to give this beautiful love story 5 swoon-worthy stars!

Desde mi gran enamoramiento con The Realm of You, aquí estoy dandole un chance a Amanda Richardson. Este fue el libro que determinaría si me gusta como para escritora preferida o tan solo fue un gusto (amor, de hecho) por un solo libro. BIENVENIDA A MIS AUTORAS PREFERIDAS, AMANDA!

This was a book that I wanted to love, and it did like it, a lot, but for me the romance was too quick and too heated too early. It seemed throughout the book that everything was up in the air. The workaholic dad suddenly had time for his daughter and the nanny? And there was instant attraction, but I didn't get that suspense build up, it was almost instantaneous.
Like I said, I wanted to love it and its a great book, just could be so much more...

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

This book was such a nice change from the ones I've been reading recently. It resonated with me on so many different levels.

Evi has a good education, she should be able to get a well paying job. But due to trying to mend a broken heart she decides to apply for a job as a live in Nanny. This instantly made me more interested in the story as I am a nanny also, albeit not live in.

I loved the scenes where Evi exchanged emails with Nick. They were so well done, and very funny at times. This was a part which was familiar again to me as a lot of the communication between myself and my employers is done via email due to their busy jobs! These familiarities drew me even more into the story.

What I love most about the story is the almost instant bond between Evi and her charge, Bria. As a nanny it is important you have a good relationship with your charges, and this one was written especially well.

Nick is also trying to escape from an awful experience. He can't see himself being happy again in his personal life.

There is an attraction between Nick and Evi, but neither believe the other feels the same, and they distance themselves due to both past experiences and the obvious working relationship they have.

The slow burning romance in this story was brilliantly done. It is so nice to find an author who doesn't make a big deal of including sex scenes in her story. This story didn't need loads of sex scenes, it worked on a much better level without them.

A brilliant story, well written, great characters, and a great read.

I really enjoyed this story - it was sweet and it had some fun and light moments, but overall, it was a great story of second chances and finding love after loss.

I love books with single fathers and this is one of them. We have the sexy and single (not by choice) Nick, a pediatrician, who's looking for a live in nanny for his young daughter, Bria. In comes Evianna, a sweet and funny college student, who's looking to escape a failed relationship and move away from her parents.
Their chemistry was there from the get go. They complement each other perfectly, whereas Nick is stuck up and lonely, Evianna is easy going and full of life.
Her relationship with Bria is incredible. They get along right away and I loved reading about a lively, little girl, rather than have her be closed off to the world around her.

I adore Amanda's writing style. She keeps everything simple, but packs her words with such emotion that it's hard not to sob when reading them. She's one of my favorite indie authors, one I wish more readers would know about.

This book was such a wonderful surprise. I went into this completely blind after getting to know Amanda on instagram. I admit, I almost didn't read past the prologue because it was so emotional, but it also drove me to continue because if only one section could make me emotional, then the whole book would be amazing. I continued on and have to admit I fell for these characters. I loved the small snippets we got from Nick's perspective. They were short, but in a way I liked that because it gave the reader just enough to want more and wonder. I also loved the Halloween scene, such a great moment. I can't wait to read more poignant and heartwarming stories by Amanda.

Evi & Nick (& Bria) are FANTASTIC! The story is a slow burn, and super sweet. I enjoyed it immensely! My only complaint is that I would have liked more detailed interaction between the characters throughout the story. There is a lot of inner dialogue - we get both Evi & Nick's POV's, which I love - a few chapters of that could have been more details of them hanging out. Even with that small complaint, this was a 5+ star read which I recommend & will read again. : )

3.5 ~ 4 STARS.

And Then You is about a woman who got a position as a live-in nanny for a recent widower with a young daughter. I'm a sucker for a 'single daddy and nanny' romance and Ginger Voight's Fullerstone Family Saga was my first. So when I saw this book, I just had to read it.

I really enjoyed this story and our main characters. But the lack of spice was extremely disappointing. I felt like I waited forever and then it just fell so flat. When I finished the book, I honestly thought, “That’s it?!”

Ugh, I had such high hopes for this one. I love the synopsis and all the possibilities my mind started going to after i read the premise of the novel. A young recently graduated college first, gets her heartbroken and right after finds a job as a live in nanny for a recent widower…. hmmm…. all the possibilities!!!

Small spoilers below. Be warned ;)

So of course, I jumped right into it. The beginning was terrific. I was really getting into Evi and her scum of an ex-boyfriend who cheated on her. I was getting overly excited when Evi starts the job as the nanny, to a super HOT, YOUNG, DOCTOR. But that is where it ended for me…

As soon as the father meets Evi there is an instant attraction and flirtation. There is no way in heck a man who just lost his wife and son is flirting with the nanny in not only emails but the first time he meets her. No way! He makes HER breakfast, he goes to her room EVERY NIGHT to say goodnight. The story is told in Evi’s POV 99% of the time but every few chapters a page or two would be in the POV of Nicks, AKA - the hot doctor. and his inner thoughts were always how much he likes Evi, even falling in love with her when she has hardly been working there or even sees him. Just totally unrealistic on so many levels. Even the end- when the daughter finds out about their relationship - which was only one date BTW, Evi tells her she will be a stepmom to her. Like seriously, you have been on one date. Calm down.

This book was such a let down. I would love to read a similar plot told in a better way but this book just was a big flop. Unrealistic and the characters were not written well at all. Evi had a college master’s degree and nick was a doctor yet they both acted like they were 15…. and his dead wife’s mother set Nick up with the nanny? Just, no!!

I give And Then You, 1.5 stars.

And Then You was such an outstanding novel! Talk about romance and swoon-worthy moments! Nicholas Wilder is my current book boyfriend as of today and the only thing I disliked was that the story ended :(

Whether the moments were sad, funny, sexy, or awkward - author Amanda Richardson's writing ensures that the reader feels every emotion right along with the characters. Although their situations were completely different, I could feel the instant connection and chemistry between Evi and Nick as they tried to rebuild their lives and find happiness. There was such realism in this novel also, not sugar coating Nick and Bria's experiences and his need to protect his daughter while also trying to find happiness.

Evi was such an honest character that was wonderfully unique from the very beginning. She said stupid things from time to time, made mistakes, got confused about life, and was just a beautifully realistic character. Nick was a bit stuffy in the beginning, but he slowly opened up and lightened up, not being so serious and closed off from the world. The progression of the relationships in the novel was realistic and paced perfectly, but also built incredible tension making me wonder what would happen next.

And Then You has some incredibly sad moments that will have you reaching for your Kleenex but is balanced with humor and romance. Although there are some heavy themes in the story, this novel absolutely left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I had that it's taken me so long to discover this fabulous author!
