5 stars for Katie devoe the professors secret

This is my first read from Katie devoe and it certainly won't be my last...
I absolutely love how the roles are reversed and Katie does the professors pov of a female,I've never seen another author that I've come across do this yet and she hit it dead on the nail in my opinion. Natasha is a very powerful woman on the inside but on the outside she is shy and content with her very quiet life. But then she meets Alex and I adore them. Although I wasn't sure about the view on the fact that Natasha was already in a relationship with Christopher and yearning over Alex but the author played it out very well. Natasha and Christopher's life is quiet, but when she's with Alex I feel he really brings out the best in Natasha that makes this the fabulous play book that it is. Can't wait for more from this author hopefully more of Alex. I highly recommend if you enjoy a strong female role and bdsm this book is what you want.

Putting a new twist onto a gently used storyline, we meet Prof. Natasha Carson who seems to have it all worked out. Handsome, esteemed boyfriend and on her way to making tenure while being a critically acclaimed writer, but deep down is something entirely different. Using a pen name, Natasha leads a double life and is a Best Selling BDSM author. Being very careful at concealing her secret success, one night of bad luck (or good luck depending on whose perspective you choose) dramatically changes Natasha’s course; and that new course is student auditor, Adam LeRue and he knows all about Natasha’s secret. Using it for a selfish weapon, we are brought along the story as desires are exploited, relationships changed and the realization that maybe everything you have isn’t always what you wanted.

Whoa! That was different. When I came across the title, TPS, I instantly thought this is from a man's POV. Well suffice to say after reading the blurb I was like hek yeah I want to read this even more. The Professor’s Secret is a quick read but effectively does the job of hooking you into the story.
I’m curious to know if Katie Devoe will in fact continue this storyline or if The Professor’s Secret will end up being a prequel to a new duet or series.

This is Natasha Carson & Adam LaRue story. It took a while until Adam & Natasha get together. And, when they do there is a promise of no sex. But, Adam wants to show Natasha what it would be like if they were together. He told her he would then give up on trying to get with Natasha. Natasha is in a relationship with her live in boyfriend when Adam shows up in her classroom. I wondered how they could get together and yet have no sex.

I had an OMG moment. I couldn’t believe I was left hanging! Wow Cliffhanger alert! I made an audible ahhhh sound like I was in pain and I was! I couldn’t believe it ended the way it did. I just hope I don’t have to wait a long time until the next book comes out. I NEED to see what happens. I was gifted a copy of “The Professor’s Secret” for an honest review.

WOW! Damn just WOW! If I had to pick a word for this book and could only pick one word it would be guilt.

Natasha…..wow Natasha is a hot mess. Well at least she is in her head. And she’s all in her own head. Her heart knows what it wants and it’s not a certain man but a type of man.

Christopher is everything she should want. He’s got every single quality a woman would want even down to being a bit kinky in bed. They have similar jobs and where she fails (cooking) he excels and vice versa. But most of all he truly, truly loves her. However, can she leave this safety net? Does she want to? Can she hurt him and live with herself? Can she stay and live with herself?

Adam she barely knows. But she knows how he makes her feel. She knows what he offers as far as kink and exactly what she desires. Every fantasy she longs for he can provide her. Plus, he knows her secret. This is a secret that she and Adam know and only because he figured it out. Adam is the big risk, is he worth it? Is going after what her heart and body desires being selfish?

Who does she pick? The guy she’s with that gives her love and security and wants to give her marriage and a family? Or the guy that knows her better than anyone else and can make her body sing with pleasure?

This book is fantastically well written. The weaving of different aspects of the characters and how Katie Devoe writes the story so effortlessly is seriously crazy good. Probably one of the most well written books I’ve read in a long time!!!!

This book is heart breaking in the way she two wonderful men that both want her and she has to choose. How does she do this? Someone is going to get hurt no matter what!

I really really hope there is a book 2. I couldn’t find anywhere where is say there is and although there is somewhat closure at the end, it could very easily keep going. Hint! Hint!

Highly Recommend!!!!

Review for Bare Naked Words
I really enjoyed The Professor’s Secret. Because I was intrigued by the title I didn’t properly read this book blurb (yes, I’m the person that will buy a book because I like its cover…) I presumed this was a male professor/female student kinda secret, but I was so wrong!

The professor was female, Natasha Carsen, I found it refreshing that the book was written from her POV but this was a refreshingly different book from the get go. I found myself constantly surprised by the way the story unfolded, and lets face it, what more can you ask from in a book?

Her secret wasn’t an illicit affair with a student, it was that she was an erotic writer on the side, something that she knew would affect her career if it came out, so much so that her long term partner doesn’t even know.

Katie’s writing in the respect of portraying Natasha’s internal struggles with her alter-career, her relationship with the very loving Christopher, and her sexual needs is incredibly insightful. It shows Natasha in all her flawed glory whilst allowing the reader to empathise with her dilemma’s.

Enter Adam…

Yes, he’s a student, but he knows Natasha’s secret and wants Natasha. Adam can show Natasha a side to life that she’s only ever dreamed about, or in her case, written about. He makes her question everything she thought she knew and Natasha’s story makes the reader how they would react, faced with such a crossroads in life…

This book is extremely erotic and sensual; it shows us love and lust and how the lines can blur between the two. The story within the story is genius and it is extremely well written.

If you are looking for something a little different you won’t regret picking up The Professor’s Secret.

This is my first book by this author and I will certainly be reading more. This is a really intriguing read packed full of taboo subjects, teacher/student, cheating, BDSM but delivered in a really unusual and interesting way that keeps you turning the pages.

Natasha Carson is the professor and I loved that the role is of a female professor rather than the normal male. Natasha portrays an image of the put together Professor in charge of her class until a grad student Adam LaRue turns up to audit her Intro to Fiction class and quickly reveals he knows her secret. A secret not even her live in boyfriend Christopher or her best friend know. Natasha is thrown into a spin by the revelation and suddenly her persona starts to crack.

Adam is relentless in his pursuit of Natasha and makes it clear he wants her. He is hot and cocky for sure. As he pushes Natasha she starts to question all the aspects of her life until she decides to see just what Adam can offer her but along the way she realises that what she needs may not be what he is offering. For me, this is truly a story of self-exploration and realising that you have to be truly honest and happy for yourself to be happy with someone else.

The angle of this book is quirky and at first I was a little confused as to whether I was reading memories or thoughts until it came together for me and then I couldn’t put it down. I can’t decide if the ending is perfect and delivers just what Natasha needed or if we are left on a cliff-hanger and there is more to come from Natasha’s story. I would honestly be happy with both but will be keeping an eye out just in case.

This is not your typical erotica romance story. Natasha is a woman who seems so sure of what she wants at time, but during others is so completely unsure. When I say this isn’t your typical romance I mean it. Natasha is a professor going through life and chasing after things she wants, but obviously as the title implies, she has secrets, secrets that she struggles with throughout the book. Christopher is her partner and lover. He is everything Natasha should want, but what she holds inside her could threaten her career and Christopher.

Enter Adam, Grad student, sexy bad boy, hell bent on making Natasha see herself for who she truly is. I felt as though he were hunting her at times, like a predator would its prey. He certainly opens her eyes to a world she may indeed crave. There was so much depth in this book and it is not in anyway the sweet romance novel that one is used to. I took this book as a woman finding her way, and awakening her inner desires. There is passion, lust-filled sex scenes, and BDSM in nature. It is ALL HOT!

I did however have a lot of questions about how things turned out, but I realized this book was about how Natasha found her happy ending. It is not a conventional ending, but the more I thought about it the more I understood why it ended that way. Great job, Ms. Devoe. This book is deep, sexy, wrought with indecision, and beyond erotic.

I loved this book, and the characters in it. Natasha is strong and complex, I like that. She's certainly not one dimensional. Which door will she choose? I'm not going to tell you that.
This book is HOT! Instead of the conventional professor seduces student troupe, this story sets itself apart from the fray with a new spin....female professor with the secret life of an erotic romance novelist. Oh but the story is so much more! You will quickly get caught up in Natasha's world and empathize with her. She truly is torn between two lives and struggling to keep them separate.
For me, each man represents something different. Christopher is the epitome of stability. Stable job, stable home, he's very....conventional. Then there's Adam. He is the unknown. He's the secret part of you that you don't show the public. He's skydiving when you think you prefer your feet planted firmly on the ground.
I went back and forth between who I wanted her to choose. Stability isn't a bad thing, yet neither is venturing to parts unknown. This book is less about the two men though, and more about a journey of self discovery. The question begs, is one willing to risk it all knowing you might lose it all, or do you stay in the comforts of the known?

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book... Not that it is a bad thing. I just am having trouble gathering my thoughts. You see, this book was not like anything I had expected. Not even close.

Natasha is a professor by day and a bestselling erotica writer by night. No one, and I mean no one knows about this side of her. This other side of her is very taboo. Though I have to say Natasha herself is a very sexual being. Whether she is writing or not, her mind is constantly on sex.
Adam is auditing her class and has figured out her secret. He lets her know this right away.

I think my issue is, I never really connected with either character. Maybe in some ways I could connect with Natasha. But as much as I wanted to feel the connection between these two, I didn't. There were glimpses but they fizzled out. I think if I would have felt the connection a little more then I would have rated a little higher. As it is it is a good erotica novel. I thought it was interesting that there was a book within the book. It was a different read for me. But still kept my attention. I am assuming with the way things ended that there will be a follow up, but I may be wrong.

Well, well! This was quite an intriguing and interesting read. Besides the sexy story line of Natasha and Christopher, and Natasha and Adam, this story begs to ask the question are some secrets worth keeping to risk losing the comforts of your life. Are honest open relationships over rated? Are you ashamed of you colleagues knowing the real you?
This story tells a very compelling story about a woman with a double life, and the fear she has trying to keep appearances.

Given a copy to Fallen for Books for my honest opinion.

This is an intense highly erotic telling of an author who has to hide who she really is.
Really great story line. You really get all the emotions the author is describing. The characters come to life and you get drawn into the story so easily.

Angst and steamy

This book is about a woman living 2 lives. One is a stable career, has a dependable lover, and author of respectable fiction. The other wants to be taken roughly by a lover and writes smut. She meets a student in her class that has figured out her double life. She has to decide if she wants to lead her comfortable, predictable life, or throw it all a way to be who she truly is.

description

The Professor's Secret by Katie Devoe was an extra steamy 5 star read.
Natasha is a professor at the university. She has a secret that not even her long time boyfriend knows.
Adam LaRue is a student of Natasha’s and is a very handsome and dominant man. When he reveals that he knows her secret and want’s her, Natasha isn't sure what to do.

There are things that Natasha wants sexually but her boyfriend Christopher is a sort of vanilla kind of guy, that sex is for the bedroom only. Can he give her what she wants and needs?

She wants to kiss him until the look in his eyes is gone. Wants to protect him. From her. He is her world. And she is his.

Of course Adam is a very persistent man and pursues Natasha. Will she give in to temptation?

This was my first read from Katie Devoe and I LOVED it. It has a little bit of everything and the sex was hot. She really draws you in with her writing and you feel like you're right there with Natasha. I do have to say that we don’t get a HEA and you are left with a slight cliffhanger. Fortunately I had “The Writers Desire” on stand by. If you like erotic/BDSM you will like the Exploring Desire series: The Professor’s Secret and The Writer’s Desire. Thank you Katie for a great read.

Natasha Carson: College professor. Layla Allen: Bestselling BDSM erotica author. These people are one in the same.

Natasha has worked very hard to keep these two lives separate. No one knows she’s an erotic author, not even her boyfriend, or her best friend. She’s working for tenure at her university, and if this secret gets out, she can kiss that goodbye. Her boyfriend, Gregory is a fellow professor and well-respected, successful poetry author, and Natasha knows he wouldn’t approve of her second career. Gregory loves Natasha, and wants to spend the rest of his life making her happy. Along with keeping the erotic writing a secret, Natasha is also hiding a part of herself. Her true sexual wants and desires.

One day, a new student enters her class. Adam LaRue knows Natasha’s secret, and he wants her. Natasha’s attracted to Adam, but doesn’t want to risk her teaching career, or losing Gregory. Adam seemingly sees exactly who Natasha is, and what she wants. He scares Natasha because as much as she wants Adam, she knows he can single-handedly bring her carefully structured house of cards crashing down.

Natasha struggles with the person she presents to the public and the person she truly is. Honestly, she’s a combination of both. She’s happy with her teaching career, and she feels safe and content with Gregory. Adam brings out feelings in her she thought she could keep hidden and out of sight. But, the more time she spends with Adam, she wonders if teaching and living with Gregory is really enough. Adam accepts her sexual proclivities, but hot, forbidden sex isn’t enough to give up what she’s worked so hard to attain. Enjoying the spoils of being a bestselling author has its advantages, but it also comes at a price. Trying to keep up with everything and maintaining a dual persona has begun to take its toll.

It’s very easy to settle down with Gregory, and thrive in her job as a fiction writing professor, but is it fair to either of them to continue that life if she isn’t truly happy? Is she unhappy with Gregory, or just tempted by what Adam is offering? Natasha has to really look into herself to decide what is going to make her happy. Whatever she chooses, someone will be hurt—including herself.

I really enjoyed this book. I definitely felt the pain Natasha was going through. But, I also saw the happiness she felt when she took those moments and selfishly gave into what she wanted and needed.

I received this ARC for an honest review, and I give it 4 stars.

Natasha has a lot going for her. She is successful in her career in a way that many don't achieve at her age. She has a man in her life she adores, and who adores her in return. She is also living with secrets, and those secrets start spilling into her life and causing her re reevaluate many things.

This book had a lot of elements that I enjoy. The main character is interesting and imperfect. She is easy relate to because even though it would seem like she doesn't have much to complain about, her emotional struggle is real and the conflicts she faces are tough for her to deal with. At times I felt like I understood her professional reasons for not wanting to be outed as an erotica author, but I struggled to understand why she couldn't share that with her partner. Adam LaRue was a tricky character for me. While I definitely felt he sexual tension and chemistry between he and Natasha, at times, I couldn't get past his blunt approaches when he first began to approach her. Another element I enjoyed was that there were some real dilemmas here without a clear-cut way through them. Natasha's partner is a good person and they don't have a bad relationship. I think that added a realistic element to the story because for most of us emotional challenges and life events occur without the clarity of good guys vs villains guiding our decisions.

I liked the mild taboo both with the dual relationship between Natasha and Adam and with the elements of kink and the dynamic that added to Natasha's life. This was definitely an interesting and sexy story that engaged me quickly and held my interest throughout. I will gladly read more by this author in the future.

I was given an ARC of the book for a honest review. Professor' Secret by Katie Devoe was not what I had expected from reading the synopsis. The story was much better than I had anticipated. This was the story of Natasha. She is a professor at Hudson University. She has a secret that she is keeping from everyone in her life. Natasha is a respected professor of friction but has the alter ego of Layla Allen writer of dark erotica. Natasha does not want anyone to know who she really is. She can loose everything, her prestigious job, her important boyfriend and the respect of her family and peers. On the first day of class a graduate student is part of her class to monitor. The first assignment she ask of the class is to free write for 15 minutes. The grad student Adam volunteers to read what he wrote and to the surprise of Natasha he reads a part of a book she wrote as her alias. After class Adam informs Natasha that he knows who she really is and that he interested in her. However Adam awakens something in Natasha that she has only imagined but would like to explore. Natasha is not only struggling with the life she is leading with a job she is not happy with, a relationship that is predictable and comfortable and a sexual life that is not satisfying plus the fact that she feels like she is being blackmailed by Adam. The story was not what I expected and the ending was even better. Adam awakens something in Natasha that has her on a journey of self discovery. A very enjoyable story told while Natasha writes her next book. I give this story 4 stars

Living a lie or living in hiding. Are they the same thing?
Natasha is living the respectable life. A Professor in a prestigious school, in a committed and loving comfortable relationship, that is still sexy. Published a book and is writing her second. Life is good. But she has a secret that if it comes to light will ruin her career and may jeopardize her relationship. Will they look at her differently? Will he?
Adam, a student, he can destroy everything. He knows her secret.
This book is intriguing in lots of ways. Yeah it is sexy, touching and romantic. Yes, it has the air of fear of getting caught. But what I liked more about it was that it made me think. Think of the ways we settle for what is easy, what is comfortable, you know so that we don't rock the boat. That is how Natasha began to live her life, hiding the person she wants to be. In a sense freeing herself.
Katie, will make you ask the hard question of yourself. Reading this book may bring about question or an epiphany, and that makes this book Fantastic in my opinion. So she entertained me, with a story that was enticing, because yeah Christopher and Natasha are perfect on paper. Oh and Adam and Natasha will melt your e-readers. But what is the best part of this book is Natasha's self discovery for her own happiness. I loved it!

Natasha is a a professor at Hudson and she teaches Intro to Fiction. She finds out that a second year grad student is going to be auditing her class. The students heard that she was a cold B. Who likes to fail students. She hates failing students though, but she knows that if she isn't tough that they will walk all over her. Natasha thinks that if the school finds out her secret then she would loose her job. The problem is Adam knows her secret and she is worried that he is going to tell people.
Natasha is young and attractive. She lives with Christopher, she doesn't believe in marriage. She has her own writers apartment that Christopher doesn't know about. Christopher wants to get married and have a family, he is going to be turning 50 next year. He writes poetry and he is the head of the poetry department. Maggie is Natasha's best friend, she is a professor at Hudson and is in the same department as Natasha. Doesn't know Natasha secret. Has man problems and she is a writer. Adam is the second year grad student, has feelings for Natasha.
This is my first book by Katie Devoe and it wont be my last. It's very well written and the characters were very well developed. This is a fast paced story and I know that I will be able to read this story again and again.

Erotic and sensual from start to finish.

Natasha is a straight laced professor, sharing her passion for writing. With a well respected and highly esteemed fellow professor for a boyfriend, to the outside world, she has everything and it's perfect.

But when a new student arrives, she worries that her perfect world could come crashing down because he knew her secret. As a fan of her work he's nearly obsessed with getting to know the person that writes the most erotic fiction out there and has an attraction to the side of her that no one knows. The thing is, Adam has an appeal for Natasha that threatens to completely unravel her and everything she's built but she can't deny that he brings out all of her hidden desires and makes it harder and harder to keep her two lives separate.

The pages of this book had me heated from the beginning and left me with a sense of empowerment! Definitely a sexy read to add to your library!

I discovered this book and author through my news feed on Facebook and I am glad I did. This book was surprisingly great. When I read the summary of the book, I thought it would be halfway decent. This book greatly surpassed all my expectations. I hate that I read this with the series still in progress because I am anxious to read more. Would definitely recommend this book and I am going to check out more of Devoe's work.

I read this in one day...a half a day really, it's just one that you pick up and can't put down.
