There were quite a few errors that could have been cleaned up by a decent editor. This started out OK with a man who survives a nuclear attack, but then...there are aliens? So very confusing and the alien/creature plot line completely subverts the original nuclear attack plot. We also have to throw in the specter of a mysterious "boss man" who believes he owns the north of the UK? How could the main character have had enough supplies that he carried down into the manhole to survive for a month. Maybe the next book will have a pandemic and zombies?
