Her Requests

Rate this book
"... Then, without waiting for my reply, she closed the distance between us and kissed me... I reached up and wrapped my arms around her neck, holding her close. "

Sometimes fears are completely rational. I will maintain to my dying breath that my fear of toxic mold in my shower is completely rational. And some fears, like Kristin’s fear of heights, exist for a good reason. And then there are fears that seem to exist for no good reason. I soon discovered that my fear of committing to a relationship with Kristin was completely irrational and unfounded.

3 stars - office romance short story
I might have rated it higher if over half the story wasn't spent on the "Oh-no-I-can't-possibly-give-in-to-my-attraction-because-reasons" trope. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Not bad for what it is. Its a free(currently at least) short story about a coworker romance. Its not long, so they dont really take much time fleshing out ideas. Instead what the story opts for is merely describing basic run downs on what happens over periods of time. Given the length, its not a bad approach because it means that things still feel like they have build up even when its not super substancial.

The thing with these kinds of stories is they always give the feeling of 'man, if someone else ran with this concept and fleshed it out, it would be a great story'. Most of the enjoyment comes more from concepts than the execution of the story. It doesnt make this story worthless because it can be nice to get bursts of awesome lesbian romance in the form of such a short story. Its short enough that it isnt a total waste to read, but i would recommend looking elsewhere for a more fleshed out romance.
