Season Two of the hit Mistletoe Murders spin-off, Middlebridge Mysteries, stars Anna Cathcart (XO, Kitty, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) as the irrepressible Violet Wilner, navigating the second year of her Criminology degree at Middlebridge University, as the mysteries of life away from Fletcher’s Grove keep piling up.
From Canadian Screen Award winner Ken Cuperus and featuring Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) reprising his role as Professor Bellows, alongside a stellar ensemble cast including Charles Van der Vaart (Outlander), Mason Temple (Ginny & Georgia) and Saara Chaudry (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), the second season of Middlebridge Mysteries sees Violet juggling schoolwork, extra-curricular projects, and her relationships while the mysteries she can’t help but solve this year become much closer to home.
Violet Wilner thinks she’s got it under control in her sophomore year of the highly competitive Criminology program at Middlebridge University. Now living off campus with best friend Bonnie, as well as unexpected house-guest and former roommate Krista, and still dating sweet football player Hunter, Violet’s social life is set. But between classes, the extra-curricular cold case project Professor Bellows recruited her and academic nemesis Stewart to work on, and daily life as a semi-adult, Violet’s got a lot going on. Still, she’s never too busy for a good mystery, and life at Middlebridge is more mysterious than ever. Violet finds herself drawn into more shady circumstances, but this year it gets personal. Between her own mom’s Middlebridge past, classmate Stewart in trouble and even Professor Bellows himself turned-prime suspect, the stakes have never been higher. And with that extra pressure, Violet’s juggling skills are put to the test, as she solves the crimes and catches the guilty, but at what cost to her? No good deed goes unpunished, as they say. A lesson Violet is about to learn the hard way.
If you don't appreciate a charming Hallmark TV production once in a while, this may not be your cup of tea. This is a compilation of cozy murder mysteries set on a college campus, featuring Violet, a humorous criminology student who barely has time for her boyfriend or her studies, because she's too busy playing amateur sleuth and chasing clues. Sometimes you just need a lighthearted, fun, fast-paced adventure in your life, and Middlebridge Mysteries and Mistletoe Murders deliver on that front (Mistletoe Murders has a great cast and is a nice addition to the holiday season). If you enjoyed Anna Cathcart as Kitty on XO Kitty on Netflix, you'll enjoy her in this too.
4.5 ⭐️ Jeg elsker denne serien, obv en lydbok. Men elsker innleserene. Gleder meg allerede til neste lydbok jeg. Og selvfølgelig julelydboka! Asså dette er det jeg kaller cozy mystery, finnes det noe lignende i bøker? Isåfall take my money 💵
Violet was still as annoying as ever, but she's slightly better here than in the last book. I liked that she and Hunter broke up; I never liked them together. She belongs with Stuart.

This was a really pleasant surprise. I'm not going to lie, the first one caught me a little bit more than this one. I felt the pacing and the stories a little more clichés than the first 3.
I loved that I was able to feel the stories and felt I was living them. The Foley, the music the voices 😍🤩 They are supreme 👌🏻 Super recommended if you like Nancy Drew/Scooby Doo, mini Sherlock vibes.
This was a quick and easy listen but it felt really repetitive. Also it's not very cohesive. I don't see Violet being this top student alongside Stuart. She is usually not paying attention in class, forgetting appointments and in general breaking several rules. The mysteries too were not that captivating. There were some funny moments and the voice acting was nice so it made for an easy listen but overall the first installment was better.
I didn’t like the sequel quite as much as the first one. I didn’t like how Violet treated one of the characters. But other than that I loved it! The mysteries are super addicting and fun. The audio production is incredible and completely immersive. The voice actors are perfect too. It’s pure hallmark entertainment and I can’t wait for the next one!
SPOILERS and book notes: Episode 1 The school was wrecking ball a building when they found a dead body in the concrete! A cold case!! Hunter works at a fitness center so she meets him there and he teaches her how to punch a punching bag!! So cute!!!!! Stewart and her are working together to solve this! The deadboy Isaac had pictures of people that he took doing skanky stuff. One of the pics he took was of President Sinclair! The university president! They go to talk to her and catch the president talking about blackmail with violets mom! They graduated from this school the same year and both know the victim. And had an affair while she was engaged to her now husband! So she doesn’t want this let out. Hunter and her label their relationship! Boyfriend hehe. He goes with her to the demolition sight and protects her. It was the guy she had an affair with that was the murderer! But I’m not sure the president is completely innocent either… her annoying old roommate Krista showed up and is going to live with her and Bonnie now lol. Episode 2 Ugh Krista is so annoying as a roommate. She meets Hunter at his fitness center and he is so adorable! But then there is a body in the pool!!!! Hunter pulls him out. He is ok but in a coma. And Stewart got robbed! His grandpas pocket watch. The coma guy lives in Stewart dorm building. And is his roommate! He accused him of stealing it! Stewart is the top suspect for all the thefts happening on campus! A video circulates of Stewart with the victim! But Krista catches it as AI! Fake!!! Bc she is a film major. It was Miles (the victims boyfriend) that stole the pocket watch. But he is working for a bigger gang and they beat his boyfriend up as a warning to him. A theft ring. She had to unchain Hunter under water to save him from drowning!! But she did! She cleared Stewart’s name and I feel like they have crossed a bridge to friendship Episode 3 Nooooo marriage problems for professor bellows and relationship problems with Hunter boooo. Her old high school painter Boyfriend Kyle shows up. WHY. Bellows is accused of killing the dean with a hit and run while he was drunk. VIOLET IS AN IDIOT. SHE HAS COFFEE and then a dinner date with her ex Kyle and makes all this time with him and nothing for Hunter???!!! And she thinks he should be ok with that!!??? She is an idiot. Dump her Hunter!!! DUMP. HER. She clears bellows name. It was the deans wife that was the murderer. I don’t blame Hunter for breaking up with her. She doesnt blame him either. He is too kind and thoughtful for her. I’m glad he broke up with her and is moving on. Bellows gets back with his wife at least.
This is a short 4-hour audiobook but I listened to it during the week when progress reports were due and I had a friend visiting from out-of-town and we spent everyday after I got off work together, so I only got to listen to the book when I went to pick her up and after dropping her off. I really enjoy this series. The Middlebridge Mysteries are a spin-off of the Mistletoe Murders. I am enjoying both series. Violet is a fun character and I am enjoying listening to her grow up. She was a teenager living with her dad in the Mistletoe Murders and in the Middlebridge Mysteries, Violet is a college student. She is a sophomore in this episode. Anyway, to help me remember what I read, she tries to help professor when he is accused of murder and struggles to make time for her boyfriend Hunter. Clearly, Violet needs to learn to prioritize, and maybe keep a calendar.
My real rating would be some where between a 3.5 and a 3.8. These books are fun, quirky and a good little listen to just enjoy during the day. They aren't the most psychologically thrilling since the "mystery" is pretty easy to solve but I enjoy the journey either way. Violet, the main character, is kind of annoying (personality wise) and if these were real cases her involvement would actually be more harmful than helpful but this type of character and her particular brand of 'whimsy' is necessary and so you kind of have to overlook it and take the book as is.
If you're looking for something just silly, fun, and something to just "reset" to from your more serious listens, this would be it. I guess it is a good book to "clean the pallet" to before heading back into something with a bit more depth.
The production team and voice actors/actresses do a wonderful job.
My opinion may be different in everyone else’s but in this season I just felt Violet was getting on my nerves. Honestly, since first part, I figured they were going to try to hook her up with Stuart and to be fair I actually liked her with Hunter. I definitely saw the issues where she literally dropped everything to solve the mystery which of course works because that is why we are listening. I think I kind of saw what was going to happen as far as the personal problems Violet is going through. I saw some of the other reviews where they did find her annoying for me. I actually enjoyed her and I found this series She was getting annoying. Definitely acting a little bit more like Emily. I do look forward to the next one and how her story will continue to progress.

Back to Middlebridge, and it felt like catching up with old friends.
This second instalment keeps everything that worked about the first: the small-town charm, the likeable amateur sleuth, and a mystery with just enough twists to keep you guessing without ever getting grim. It's the kind of cozy mystery that respects your intelligence while still being pure comfort.
The community of characters continues to be the real draw. You can tell the author genuinely likes these people, and that warmth comes through on every page.
A lovely, easy listen. If you enjoy your mysteries with more tea than terror, this series is a gem.
Another fun visit with an extension of the Mistletoe Murders family.
The stories are reasonable - thankfully not so violent or gory (well, except for the corpse in the third story ... but even then, there was no explicit description of the body). I enjoyed tagging along with Violet and crew as they solve the three mysteries in this compilation. Even the secondary characters are not all bad - even the demanding, entitled roommate has her redeeming qualities. :D
Thanks to the author(s) and Audible for making this available during my promotional trial.
It's sophomore year for Violet Wilner. She's ready to take on more responsibility in the cold cases that she's been helping work on for Professor Bellowes along with her frenemy, Stewart. And not one, but both of these characters will be mixed up in a mystery. One murder and the other robberies. But the first one hits the closest to home. When a body is unearthed in a building that is being torn down, Violet's mother comes into town because she knew the deceased, as did the new president of Middlebridge University (who we never hear from again.)
I just love this series on Audible. Three great short stories this time -one involving Violet's mom, one involving Stuart, and one involving Professor Bellows. Violet is as chaotic as ever! Krista returns like a bad penny, and we see Hunter a lot in this and there is a major development on that front. It is interesting to see Violet and Stuart lose some of their animosity and become friendly. I do like how these stories cover the majority of the school year, one in fall, winter, and spring.
Book two of the spin-off books, Mistletoe Mysteries. I feel like Middlebridge Mysteries are focused on college age readers. The writing could have been better, but the mysteries were okay.
There are the stories, two chapters each. Quick read.
There is some language and a couple of gay characters, which is to be expected on a secular campus. There was no sex in the book or any descriptions thereof between any characters.
I love these cozy mysteries and the actors. It’s a spinoff of The Mistletoe Murders series (which I love as well). I always make sure I have an active membership when a new one from each are released. Full cast with light background sound effects. Production well done and not overpowering. The mysteries and investigations make sense. The characters have their quirky personalities which I also really enjoy. I just hate having to wait for more.
Well after realising there was a spin off of Mistletoe Murders I have listened through all I can as of right now. This series has the same charming quality of the original series and I was surprised that there was a story linked to one of the episodes from Mistletoe.
Overall the series is probably still a 3.5/5 for me but that’s better than average for most things I read/listen to so I would still want to listen to more.
Violet Wilner is at it again! She's in her second year at Middlebridge College and she is still working with her arch nemesis Stuart for Professor Bellows and she keeps getting herself entangled in solving crimes! I love the humor, fast-pace and cosy nature of this, series! The audiobook is a full cast narration which is awesome!
Was not as good as the first. Fell flat. Poor Hunter. Violet not being able to pay attention to him or give her time was so sad and really dampened the whole mood of the book and made me dislike it.
3.5, Honestly I just felt like Violet was being not a good girlfriend, she's an amazing student, friend, and offcourse a amateur decetive but not a good girlfriend to hunter. There was a lot of communication gap between them.
We’re back for the second year of Violet’s criminology degree at Middlesbridge University. This time, she’s solving crimes that are a bit closer to home…
A spin-off from Mistletoe Murders (which I loved!), this cosy murder mystery is well worth a listen to.
By the makers of Mistletoe Murders, this full cast charming drama follows Violet (she’s the policeman’s daughter in Mistletoe Murders) as she pokes her likeable nose into three mysteries on campus whilst she completes her criminology course work.
