دار المكعب

لا تشكل صيغة "المكعب" في هذه الدار وصفا شكليا لكتلة هندسية بسيطة، بل يتجاوز ذلك الى التعبير عن موقف تصميمي واع يسعى الى اعادة صياغة روح البيت البغدادي التقليدي في لغة معمارية حديثة ومجردة. فالتصميم النهائي لا يقوم على استنساخي للعناصر التراثية بشكل حرفي ومباشر، بل يعتمد على استيعاب المبادى العميقة التي شكلت ذلك الموروث المعماري، ومن ثم اعادة انتاجه بصيغة معاصرة.

Maath Al-Alousi is founder, Principal/Senior Partner for Alousi Associates Technical Studies Bureau , Baghdad, Iraq, and Alousi Associates Technical Studies Ltd., Limassol, Cyprus. He has forty two years experience in the planning, design and project management of residential, commercial, industrial and governmental projects throughout the Middle East.

He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey and the Architectural Association Diploma (Tropical Studies), United Kingdom.

He is a member of the Iraqi Architects Society and the Iraqi Engineers Union. He has lectured at the Higher Institute of Technology, Baghdad, and the University of Technology, Baghdad, where he was also External Examiner for M.Sc. degree projects in urban design.

He has written numerous research papers and has contributed and edited several publications and periodicals on traditional houses of Baghdad and on Islamic and Iraqi architecture.
