I enjoy the struggle the main characters face with whether to start becoming more or save their friendship. What I didn't appreciate was the constant mention of Tinder in these books. The first and second books of this series were HORRIBLE with the Tinder, Tinder, Tinder. This one wasn't as bad. Still not liking the place where the author chooses to end the book. This is a cute, endearing story which you must follow the order of the books. Worth the read at sale prices. Happy reading my fellow bookworms!
As the series to this book goes on it gets more and more amazing. I love the tone of this book, the personalities of the characters it's really nice, it makes you feel like you could be them or have a friend like them and I like that. With every turning page the characters interactions will bring a smile to your face with something they say to each other. This book will give you many different emotions whether it's happy, sad, amused or excited but that's what's great about it, is the fact that you can feel the way the characters feel, like your apart of the book. I think this is my favorite Author yet!
These stories could all have just been one book. I’m glad I’m using Kindle Unlimited. I wouldn’t pay for these. The story is somewhat amusing but there’s just so much unnecessary dialogue. So much. I can literally skip 10 pages and still follow along with what’s going on. Every character talks everything out. Very little chance for internal character growth. This is why authors need editors and publishing houses. This story has potential, and that’s the only reason why I keep downloading the next book (feels like each book could be a chapter).
Synopsis ~ Lucy and Aiden have been best friends since they were kids.
So Lucy's had plenty of practice ignoring his handsome features, athletic body, and wicked sense of humour, which is for the best. After all, they've been in the friend zone so long there's no hope of escaping it.
At least, that's what Lucy keeps telling herself...
Thoughts ~ Five short books to complete a story. I needed something quick and short to get over a bit of a reading slump. Not the most amazing book I've ever read but something that I needed!
I got the first two books some time back and didn’t realize that there were 5 books in this series. (I can’t stand it when and author splits up a book into chapters and sells them as novellas) This read as a chapter to me. It had a beginning introduction and the starting of a plot and then just stops. Guess what… though, I liked the story (as a whole) Friends to lovers stories are one of my favs.
I forgot that I was reading this like halfway through so it's probably been a few months. The last few chapters though covered Aiden's savage second breakup with Chelsea. He deserved an award for that one. Fiona's creep of a boss decided to act out and now Lucy is trying to find a legal way to take him down while Fiona gets day drunk. He found out about Chelsea Tinder cheating from a wasted Fiona and he's now pissed. It's understandable seeing as they are besties and all.
“This isn’t your first Tinder date. It’s your last.”
Boo yah Aiden! I love this guy and how much he wants her, and how he just lays it all out for her. He knows what he wants and is willing to fight for it. Until he isn’t. What a great cliffhanger ending
I do love Aiden and Lucy’s story but I have to say, each book is much to short and could have easily been put into one, maybe 2 books at most. Short mini series is not the way to gain readers.
This writing is so interesting it is a shame you don't know how to put it all together so a reader can enjoy it. I assume all your series adhere to the same pattern so I won't be reading you again.
We start off with Lucy completely freaking out over the fact that Aiden has told her that she needs to be ready as he is taking her out tonight, her roommate Fiona can already tell why she is loosing it and that's because she is completely in love with him but she knows that Lucy still won't admit that.
Lucy just thinks that considering Aiden broke up with Chelsea his ex that to him all he sees her as is a rebound, but she is completely wrong because Aiden has finally realised that in all the time he has been with other girls the right girl is right in front of him. Now that he has finally realised that Lucy is the girl for him all he wants to do is impress her, he pulls out all the stops and even takes her to a new restaurant that has just opened up but whilst they are out he seems to notice all the little things that he never used to.
Other than that Lucy is still worrying about what to do with work because things seem to be getting a bit more complicated for her and her roommate, when Fiona comes back one night with red eyes Lucy can instantly tell that something's happened. She finds out that their boss has tried things on with her and she said no so she ended up kneeing him where it hurts and ends up getting fired, this is the last straw in Lucy's eyes, she knows that now this has happened that things are only going to get worse so she needs to do something now before someone else gets hurt. After looking online to see if there is anyway that they can get help from someone who knows about stuff like this, she ends up speaking to this guy called Nathan, he seems to be alright and knows what he's doing but he is also willing to help Lucy figure out how to get this all sorted.
Everything seems to be going well for Lucy and Aiden but when he arranges to meet with Lucy after she has done what she needed to do, he ends up beating her to her apartment and starts talking to Fiona and as Fiona is currently unemployed she is currently in a drunken state. So when he hears that Fiona and Lucy found Chelsea on Tinder he honestly can't believe what he's hearing and ends up walking out and going home. Then the last person he expects to he is Chelsea and she ends up being in his flat in just his shirt, and again he tries to make it clear that it is over between the two of them and that she should leave him alone.
Will Lucy be able to make it up to Aiden or will it be over for them before it's even begun, and what will happy for Lucy when she tries to get some evidence against her boss. The only way you are going to know any of this is if you read this collection, it is honestly the best by far. There is only two more books left in this series and you don't want to miss out at all. I can't wait to read the next one.
Such a great addition to the series! I seriously want to smack Lucy, and Aiden on occasion, upside their heads! Ugh! Why can't they just accept they are perfect for each other and communicate? Well, there's needs to be a conflict in the story, so I understand it at a certain degree, but I need the next book to see what happens next! That cliff hanger, no matter how small, has me anxious to see what happens next in Lucy and Aiden's story. So excited!!
Lucy finally gives her best friend, Aiden, a chance to be more than her best friend. She knows she's risking their friendship at a chance at love, but she thinks Aiden is more than worth it. But what happens when she comes face to face with her biggest fear?
Aiden finally has Lucy right where he wants her, in his arms. But when he discovers she's been hiding a secret from him, he will question whether she is the girl of his dreams, or is just like all the other people in his life whom have lied to him. Can their love conquer all? Or will their friendship as we know it be destroyed?
All in all, great book. I'm ecstatic to read the next book in this series and I have a good feeling things are going to get intense between Lucy and Aiden. I recommend this book to everyone!
My favorite quote:
"But Lucy never made me feel that way. She always made me feel like I was enough, like I had nothing to be ashamed of and every reason to be proud."
What is more important friendship or the possibility of more?Lucy’s life consist of: work, her dating life and her best friend Aiden.
All of which have some type of hiccup. Either with her boss, her horrible dates from Tinder, and having a long time crush on the one guy that she can never have. He has broken her heart enough times as friends by choosing other women to date over her. She has finally came to terms with being happy with the way their relationship is. The last thing Lucy would ever want it to lose the one person that means the most to her over wanting more than friendship.
Aiden lost almost everything. Between his professional Ruby career and the respect from his family, he struggles to find joy and balance. He knows of only one constant thing in his life, Lucy. She has been his support through everything and has never looked down on him for quitting rugby. He has always dated the model types – ones with no brains, don’t eat anything, and only use him for his trust-fund. After realizing the wrong women he keeps dating he begins to see Lucy as more than just his longtime friend. He is determined to win Lucy over, but one thing is standing in his way, Lucy.
The begging of the book was very good, but then all the redundant thoughts on Lucy's head were overwhelming.
The way you paint Aiden's feelings helps a lot to laid the foundation for the way he reacts when Fiona drunken confession came into play, you make him hurt and at the same time he is letting his frustration with all the Chelsea incident cloud his vision to the point of putting Lucy in the same boat. Now this kind of problems will help the insecurities on Lucy to grow ten fold enough to sustain her theory that they can't be friends and lovers. Everything is going to get complicated and I like it.
Now I can't wait until I can get my hands into the next book.
Getting to this point with Aiden and Lucy reminds us that nothing hardly ever goes the way we would like it to. I love that Hazel is brave enough to step outside of HEA and prove that most anything worth having contains a battle. Lucy is struggling with everything from sexual harassment at work, to the possibility of losing her best friend and soul mate. This book throws out the age old question, "what would you do?" I can't wait to see where this journey leads them.
Lucy is still trying to decide if ruining her friendship with Aiden is worth it by taking it to an intimate level. She is still struggling with whether or not to tell Aiden about Chelsea. Chelsea, on the the other hand, just won't go away and leave Aiden alone. Again, I like Aiden but I think Lucy spends too much time in her head, which is putting more stress on the relationship than there should be.
I received an ARC copy for an honest review WOW, this set of books is getting seriously hot, things between Lucy and Aiden are becoming more intense but will the blossoming romance handle the secrets or is it just one friend trying to protect the other?. I can't wait for the next book to come out!!!!!
I am at a lose right now. I am so mad at Lucy that she didn't tell him that she knew....but then I am super pissed at Adien for blowing up like he did.
I love this series and I need the next book like I need air to breath. Hazel Kelly you cut me deep....I am already going through withdrawals and I just finished this book. I need to be held right now.....
I'm not finding this particularly compelling and I'm not sure I understand their previous relationship enough to get where thing are remarkably different aside from the now mindblowing sex.
He's all horny; she's all panicked and it's making me anxious.
Calling this the Fated series doesn't exactly make sense to me yet.
Another amazing installment of this series. Got pretty steamy, I must admit. I have just fallen in love with this couple and it just such an amazing way to lose myself in a fantasy world that's not too far off from the real world of what could happen. I love it.
Like I said in my first review, this author isn't that great to keep this story drawn out. It too drawn out. I stop caring about these characters after this book. I don't care if they get together or not. I am done with this story.
