This is the same story as The Irregular at Magic High School, but ostensibly from the point of view of Miyuki, Tatsuya's sister from the main series. Ostensibly, because Miyuki isn't the only honor student in this series, it includes her classmates, particularly Honoka and Shizuku as well.

If you enjoyed The Irregular at Magic High School, this is a good alternative instead of rereading the main series, and experience it from a different angle.

Not a big fan of the little sister trope -- and while I'm afraid that will infect the rest of the series, depending on the degree of it, I might be okay. I am liking the world set up, and the conflict between the Bloom/Weed, the magic system... and the hints of a lot more. A solid first volume. If my library ever gets back the first volume of the light novels The Irregular at Magic High School, Vol. 1: Enrollment Arc, Part I I am likely to pick that up to read too!

It definitely appeals to fans of the core series, but I think it can be read separately and enjoyed on its own, especially if you've heard bad talk about the series marty stue protagonist and would like a story more focused on its female players. Not that it isn't there, but the focus is very much on the female protagonist and her world, her friends, rather than his engineering and accomplishments.

Also, you have to accept the incest undertones... overtones... subtext doesn't quite cut it..... but if you can do that it's a good story to read when you feel like protagonists kicking ass and being too awesome for the world.

This could be a good series if the fan service was dialed down from an 8 to a 2... so many unnecessary gratuity frames.

I have seen a lot of this in anime format several years ago but didn't recall the underwear frames being so prevalent, perhaps it wasn't as noticeable in a different medium. The whole concept is good though, the return of magic enhanced by technology in the future. It's trope is rather black and white, fairly standard non magic users hating magic users and magic users being discriminatory thinking everyone else is lesser than them... but the magic system makes the read worthwhile.

This is a new Fine Arts Library. I wanted to start a new manga and this one caught my eye, which I was interested to is just a continuation of another series. I now wish to read the other novels as well as the manga series. I feel that it is an interesting concept, and I'm quite pleased that, though it is a English translation it still has some Japanese characters, which is helping me continue my learning of the Japanese language.

This was a pleasant surprise. First, because there is a real bad guy in this story. Second, because there are real good guys of each sex in the story. I can relate to one of the protagonists without shame and enjoy the drama.

Some what confusing on the story and not a big fan of the brother/ sister relationship going on. Might try the anime to see how it is.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I spent a lot of this confused, but I like the characters and the idea behind the story so I might continue or try the anime. Not sure how I’m feeling about the light incest though 😂

A lovey-dovey story of a sister crushing hard on her brother, who's not quite a year older! They would be in the same class at school, but - sadness! - he is much less magically powerful than her, and gets put into Class 2, while she joins Class 1. There's some bullying by Class 1 students who feel superior to the Class 2s, but friends on both sides support them in their efforts to remain together.
I liked the look of the magic system in this book! It's very obviously science-based, tied to more modern equipment than staves or wands, and is similar to the way hacking or logging in to a virtual reality are often portrayed. The art is very cute, with sparse backgrounds and large figures in most panels. A heartwarming school story, with the sibling romance front and center!

This book was easier to handle than The Irregular at Magic High School, which I stopped watching about 5 minutes into the first episode when the main character walked into a girl bending over a desk with her panties all up on our business. This is more shojo, with the main girl SUPER into her brother. It follows the students in the school who have the best magical abilities. It was cute, but nothing mindblowing.

I did not realize that this was a spin off of another manga. That would explain why the world-building was seriously lacking. The art was really beautiful, but the writing was a bit awkward. I feel like you have to be familiar with the original series to really enjoy this manga.

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

Great mangA

Loved seeing the stuff happen from the sister's point of view. Can't wait to see what next happens in the series!

Nice extension of the major story lines

The art work is very good, and the story line complements and expands the base story in “Irregular”. I enjoyed it, but you need a large tablet of monitor to view it on to fully appreciate it.

This was much better than I expected it to be - Miyuki is an easier character to get behind than her brother.

Full review will eventually appear on The Anime News Network.

A little too much world building, but I don't know the other series, so i can't judge. Good storyline.

Yikes why spoil a decent storyline with hints of incest? I am so very uncomfortable.
