"The Chef's Kiss It has the urgency that makes you want to turn pages. I was so glued to it that I ignored the glaring red of my battery slowly dying."

When loving the wrong man left you broken,

the right man showed you how safe love can be.

He says he loves me, but then his touch turns to ice.
He says I’m perfect, only to shape me into something that fits his mould. His anger escalates to violence, and his manipulation mocks my kindness.

And still, I stay when I know I should leave.

That is until I start a new job with a boss who doesn’t see me as a broken girl. He sees the woman beneath the façade.

While Bodhi tries to control me, Cole shows me what it feels like to have choices. While Bodhi drags me under crashing waves, Cole stills the tides and simply holds my hand so I can float. When Bodhi left me broken, Cole re-built my confidence, giving me the strength to walk away.

Cole never tried to save me; he simply loved me patiently enough while I learnt to save myself.

Only Bodhi isn’t going to let me go so easily. And when a man who thrives on control starts to lose everything, how far will he go to get it back?

Hi, I am Nicole Bazley.

Ok, ok, I am going to be completely honest here. Nicole Bazley is a pen name. She is an alter ego created to gain the confidence to publish my first book.

It's not that I don't think my book is worthy. I do. It's just a daunting experience putting it out there. One I've held myself back from for many many years. Ten to be exact!

While the name is fake, I definitely am NOT. Nicole embodies me in so many ways. She is me! She is the creative author who has so many love stories to tell. This name means something to me on a deep level.

A little about me.

I love the beach, my family, being outdoors and staying active. I have always been a book lover and will read almost anything. My favourite authors are Jodie Picoult and Lee Child. I could read the Jack Reacher stories on repeat till the day I died.

I have always loved to write. Poems, songs and little stories, this is my first time actually putting my work out there.

I would say, I write contemporary romance stories that will have you free falling.

I hope you love my stories as much as I love writing them.

Nicole x

This one was heavy, emotional, and stressful in the best way. I loved watching Sierra slowly find herself again and the way Cole gave her the patience and safety she needed without trying to “save” her. Definitely check the trigger warnings, but this was a powerful story about healing, strength, and finding love after trauma.

3.5⭐️ rounding up!

Thank you to the author and books&bloom PR for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First and foremost, check triggers before going into this one!

This is definitely a heavier subject than what I typically read, but I thought the author handled the cycle of abuse in a way that felt raw and, at times, incredibly frustrating—in a way that felt intentional.

While I haven’t personally experienced domestic abuse, I have been the friend on the outside, watching someone return to the same person over and over and desperately hoping they would finally leave. Because of that, I really connected with how flawed the main character was. We got to see the cycle of forgiveness, manipulation, and justification instead of her simply recognizing the toxicity and magically moving on.

I especially appreciated that her new relationship didn’t suddenly “fix” her. She carried those patterns and struggles with her, and watching her work through them felt realistic.

Cole was where I struggled more. I liked him initially, but I felt like he became deeply involved in her situation very quickly. I understood that he wanted to give her a safe space, but sometimes it felt like he was doing too much, and I had a hard time connecting with their relationship the way I think it was intended.

Overall, I enjoyed this story and appreciated that it didn’t make healing from abuse look simple or linear.

“She is more to me than what she should be. She is more than more. She is everything.” ❤️

Sierra knows the relationship she is in isn’t the love she deserves, but knowing you should leave and actually finding the strength to do it are two very different things.

What follows isn’t simply a story about leaving the wrong man and finding the right one. It’s about Sierra slowly finding herself again.

This book will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I don’t even know if I can describe the feeling of reading it properly because it was soul crushing and hopeful all in one breath.

Sierra’s story hurt.

And then there was Cole. 🥹

What got me about Cole wasn’t that he came charging in to rescue Sierra. It was almost the complete opposite.

He gave her choices.

He gave her patience.

He showed her what it felt like to have someone beside her without that person trying to control where she went next.

There were moments where I wanted Cole to swoop in and fix everything, but I actually love that this wasn’t his story to fix. It was Sierra’s.

He could love her. He could support her. He could remind her of her worth.

But Sierra had to choose herself.

And THAT is what made this story so powerful for me.

The romance was beautiful, but Sierra’s journey was the part that really stayed with me. Watching her begin to rebuild the confidence that had been chipped away and realise that she deserved more was both heartbreaking and incredibly hopeful.

By the end I didn’t just want Sierra and Cole to have their happily ever after.

I wanted Sierra to have Sierra back. 🥹

And I think that’s why this book will forever hold such a special place in my heart.

Definitely check out the trigger warnings before starting. Wow. The romance during it was also just very real and raw and controlled and hopeful. Wow wow wow.

The Right Side of His Wrong by Nicole Bazley is a contemporary romance that centers around escaping abuse, healing, and learning to love again. This story focuses on Sierra, a woman who is experiencing domestic violence and abuse from her boyfriend, and Cole, her older CEO boss.

Sierra moves to a new town with her boyfriend and finds a job as Cole’s executive assistant at a construction company. Sierra’s passion is in interior design, but she had put her dream on hold to follow her boyfriend’s dream of being a sports star.

I loved the way Cole fell first, but didn’t try to push it on Sierra. He could read the complicated situation and he understood that he had to go at her pace. Meet her where she was at. This story is emotional, I connected so well with the characters and each time an event happened I wanted to become Sierra’s best friend to help support her and provide comfort. Her journey is a rough, non-linear, messy emotional one. But it’s a journey worth reading! I stayed up too late two nights in a row reading (and finishing) this book! When Cole said “You. Are. Enough. Just the way you are.” I swooned. And don’t get me started on that car scene! 🔥🔥

Because of the content of this book, please *please* check the trigger warnings before starting it. This is a book that has domestic violence on page among other things, so you should be informed prior to reading it. This book is beautifully written and I loved seeing the progression Sierra makes in her healing!

Thank you to Nicole Bazley and Books and Bloom PR for providing me with a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

I really enjoyed The Right Side of His Wrong. It was one of those books that genuinely made me want to keep reading and see where the story would go.

What I especially appreciated was the way the story developed. Instead of immediately turning into a love-at-first-sight situation with someone new, the book really takes the time to show the situation she is in and how difficult it can be to find your way out of something like that.

I also loved seeing the different kinds of support she receives throughout the story. Not everything works or immediately makes things better, which made it feel more realistic. I especially liked the way he continues to offer her support while still allowing her to find her own way.

My only criticism would be the ending. Once they finally get together, the end of the book comes around quite quickly. I would have loved to see more of their relationship at that point and get some of the same depth that I really enjoyed throughout the first part of the book.

Overall, this was definitely worth the read. I enjoyed the story, the build-up and the more realistic approach to a difficult situation. A solid four-star read for me!

5⭐️ 2🌶️

The Right Side of His Wrong is one of the best books I’ve read this year. It’s a heavy and emotional read. Sierra (FMC) is a DV victim stuck in the abuse cycle — he love bombs, degrades her, dismisses her, abuses her and then love bombs for her forgiveness. Rinse. Repeat. The author does an amazing job connecting the reader to the situation. I was so consumed by this story and couldn’t put the book down. It’s a must read!!

Please check content warnings and please read this with caution. While it is heavy, it’s also very healing.

Thank you Books & Blooms PR and Nicole Bazley for the gifted eARC!

Thank you @nicolebazleyauthor for the ARC of ‘The Right Side of His Wrong’.

I read this book within 24 hours….perhaps because this one felt a little closer to home than most books do.

This book explores domestic violence, abuse, control and the complicated reality of loving someone who is also abusing you. Having experienced similar situations myself around ten years ago, there were moments in Sierra’s story that felt familiar.

And then I came across this:
“Do the highs only feel so high because the lows are so low? Or do the lows only feel so low because the highs are sooo damn high?”

That line stopped me…because years ago, I remember saying something eerily similar to my ex…that for me, is where Nicole’s writing really struck a chord. She captures a complexity that people looking from outside don’t always understand. It isn’t always as simple as “why didn’t she just leave?”

Sometimes there are beautiful days between the terrible ones. There is love, remorse, hope, forgiveness and belief that maybe this time things will be really different.

Nicole has threaded that complexity through Sierra’s story so delicately.

And then there’s Cole🥹🩷… everyone deserves a Cole in their lives…someone who reminds you:

“You. Are. Enough. Just the way you are.”

I especially loved the little affirmations woven throughout the story.

@nicolebazleyauthor you have handled something incredibly heavy with so much tenderness 🩷

P.S: Love the gorgeous cover 🩷

I stayed up way too late last night reading this one! I was able to be an ARC reader for Nicole Bazley’s latest novel ‘The Right Side of his Wrong’.
This book had me on edge right from the start.
Sierra’s partner is an abusive douche and I was just waiting her to realise this and truly find herself again. Cole gives her the time, space and safety she needs to really see Bohdi for who he is.
I really enjoyed this one, even if it did stress me out for 3/4 of the book!

To say this book had me sleep deprived it’s an understatement. This story had me laughing, crying, hurting and healing all the way through. Once again Nicole has interwoven really difficult topics into stories of strength, healing, growth and true love, of one’s self and others. Well done Nicole, cannot wait for the next.

Thank you so much to Nicole Bazley and Books & Bloom PR for this ARC opportunity. This book was such an incredible read even with the heavy, heartbreaking, painful domestic violence that is portrayed.

Sierra is stuck in a vicious cycle, in a new state isolated from her friends and family and trying to keep her boyfriend Bodhi happy especially after pursuing employment when he just wanted her to stay at home and play house. The more Bodhi sees how happy she is at her new job, that she's making friends and that her boss is an attractive man; the more dangerous, controlling and irrational he becomes pretty soon the verbal abuse escalates to physical abuse. After another physical confrontation she runs , and ends up at her job where Cole her boss finds her.

Horrified by the abuse Sierra is enduring he's offering to help her in any way he can, trying to convince her to call the police or go to the hospital but she refuses and ends up telling Cole it was her fault, Bodhi is a good guy it was just a mistake on his part and goes back, unfortunately for Sierra this won't be the last time it happens.

Trying to pretend the abuse isn't happening, Sierra tries to hide it from Cole she's already embarrassed enough that he knows what's happening. Cole just keeps showing up for her and being a safe space for her to escape too. The more time they spend together the more they start feeling for each other, but Sierra isn't emotionally there to pursue anything new. Finally reaching her breaking point after another physical fight, she decides to move back home away from Bodhi.

However Bodhi isn't ready to let her go, and won't stop until she's back with him. Can Sierra be strong enough to not let herself fall back into the cycle with Bodhi?
Will Cole be able to show Sierra that he will wait however long it takes until she's ready to let him show her what it means to be truly loved?

Firstly, thank you Nicole Bazley for the opportunity to read this as an arc read! I devoured this and it’s still running in my brain on a loop.

Quote: “Do the highs only feel so high because the lows are so low? Or do the lows only feel so low because the highs are sooo damn high?”

My Thoughts:
I finished this book over a week ago and have wrote this review a few times and just can’t find the right words. Hopefully this review will be this book justice.

I am the type of girlie that jumps in blind. Trigger warning I don’t check, however please read before starting this. This is a heavy read.

Sierra is in a relationship with an up and coming AFL star, Bodhi, they need to move interstate for his football career. So Sierra packs up and goes against her parents and brother’s advice and moves with Bodhi. This is where Bodhi’s red flags start showing. Sierra has cut herself off from her family, from her friends. Bodhi expects her to be a stay at home WAG and look the part. She secretly applies for a job, secretly goes for the interview and gets the position then has to break the news to Bodhi. Sierra starts to make friends in the her workplace, her boss, Cole is impressed by her work and she complimented on it however that cycle of emotional and mental abuse is waiting for her at home. That is until it turns physical. This then gives the reader a real insight into way and how can be difficult for a victim of DV to leave. This really opened my eyes as someone who has been so fortunate in life not to experience this. I really enjoyed the ending because we she Sierra in a healthy relationship however the relationship hasn’t ’fixed her’. She brings all her trauma or her past with her and learns and grows within this new, supportive relationship and we see her start to heal every aspect of her life.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading this book. It explores domestic abuse, violence, controlling relationships, and the complicated reality of breaking free from that cycle.

I really appreciated how realistic and raw this story felt. Watching Sierra repeatedly return to the relationship, struggle with manipulation and forgiveness, and eventually find the strength to break free and rediscover herself was beautifully written.

Sierra isn’t perfect—and that’s what made her journey feel so real. She makes mistakes, second-guesses herself, and gets caught in the cycle of hoping things will change. The author did an incredible job portraying how complicated and difficult it can be to leave an abusive relationship.

I also loved that the story didn’t treat a new relationship as a magical cure for everything Sierra had endured. Her past didn’t simply disappear because she found someone who treated her well. Watching her work through that trauma, confront her struggles, and slowly heal on her own timeline felt incredibly genuine.

And Cole 🥹 I loved that he gave Sierra something she desperately needed: choice, patience, and space to heal. He never tried to rush her or decide what was best for her. He let her move forward at her own pace, and that made their relationship feel so much more meaningful.

A difficult but beautifully written story about breaking cycles, finding yourself again, and learning that healing doesn’t happen overnight.

Review of ARC read

This book was everything, exactly like Sierra is everything❤️

“I’m learning that love does in fact not heal everything. I have to actually do the work if I don’t want to bring this past trauma into this new relationship.”

This is a story of love, hurt, healing, forgiveness but still so much sorrow.
Sierra is in a toxic relationship that turns violent.
For how much she knows this is not right, walking away is not easy. It’s not just about the fear or inability to do so in itself, but it’s about the pain of walking away from somebody you still somehow love.

Sierra is one of the “lucky” cases, as in a world where she is now alone, she meets Cole who’s there to help her and support her, while never asking anything of her.
Unfortunately this is not the case for a lot of men and women out there, who sadly are never shown a way out💔

Cole’s power doesn’t reside in him just loving Sierra, but it’s in his patience and will to most of all help Sierra finding herself again, even if this could mean letting her go.
At the same time Sierra is not just “given an out”, but she has to do the work to start again and find her own strength to move away and move on.
Cole is absolutely Prince Charming, but Sierra is the true hero in her own story.

This book was a hard read for many aspects, but it’s such a powerful story that should be acknowledged in today’s society again and again💜

This book tore my heart apart. 💔

“She is everything. Everything I didn’t know I needed, everything I didn’t know I was missing.”

The Right Side of His Wrong is a contemporary romance that follows Sierra as she upends her entire life and moves across Australia to follow her boyfriend, Bodhi, and his career. From the outside, their relationship may look perfect, but looks aren’t always what they seem.

Sierra starts a new job at a construction company as the executive assistant to the CEO. Then, one night, everything goes terribly wrong, and she finds herself going straight to work because it’s the only place she knows to go.
This book had me completely hooked from the very beginning. I needed to know what happened to Sierra, and I could not stop reading. I was completely invested in her story and every choice she made along the way.

I laughed. I swooned. And yes… I cried. A LOT. 😭
This story put me through every emotion, and I could not get enough of it.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading, as the book contains scenes of domestic violence.

If you’re looking for a romance that will pull you in, make you feel everything, and completely wreck your heart along the way… add this one to your TBR. ❤️‍🩹

Trigger warnings: domestic abuse on page

This was a difficult read for me because it hit pretty close to home. The mental and physical abuse that Sierra endured was heartbreaking!! I was on edge anytime her boyfriend Bodhi showed up on page..

Every time Bodhi shows her his ugly side, Cole shows her how she should be treated. He showed her what true love consists of, communication, freedom, and lots of patience.

The ending was hard to get through, the lengths that Bodhi went through to hurt Sierra once and for all 🥺 my heart broke for her

Nicole made me feel so many different emotions in this one.. anger, worry, and hope. She was careful in writing the abuse on page and Sierra constantly sticking up for Bodhi and giving him another chance.. it’s definitely easier said than done when it comes to leaving a toxic relationship. You just want to see the best in the person you care for, which is exactly how Sierra was portrayed

I’m so glad she had Cole in her corner even though there were a few scenes she was hurting Cole herself

Even with all the depth and frailty in this book, I couldn’t put it down

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️

This story has to be one of the most heartbreaking but also healing stories that I’ve read lately. This follows FMC Sierra, who is stuck in her boyfriends vicious abuse cycle. When giving up her life to move for her boys friends carrier, she takes a job in a new town and meets Cole, her new boss. The story follows these two characters going through the trauma together but different perspectives. You really go through a lot of emotional termoil in this book seeing how everyone is so greatly affected by the abuse of one person. However you also get to see true healing in this story and the beauty to get there. I really loved reading this book and the story of Sierra and Cole!

The author does an amazing job at really having the readers understand the thought process of DV victims and why they stay. This story is not light and all trigger warnings should be read. Even though it’s deep , the ending is very satisfying and will put you back together.

I was chosen for the first time ever to receive an ARC and this book surpassed my reading expectations thus far. If I could rate this book more than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it would be incredibly easy to do so!
Being that I have been involved in a domestic violence relationship in the past, the triggers for this book hit me hard, yet I truly love how this book made me connect with this extremely hard topic. The constant cycle of manipulation and returning back to this person whom the character loved yet was so hurt by them, clearly brought back some memories of my own experiences. I love how a book can make this type of connection for me, and for that reason it was even more enjoyable to read.
Finding the strength to leave a relationship you know is not right for you, is very difficult and not many people can walk away so easily. Sierra finding herself again reminded me of myself and my own experiences in even my own life with other topics, not just domestic violence. Thank you Nicole for this amazing story, and I cannot wait to read more of your work!!!!

There are books that instantly feel like something different. Something that you will remember and that will leave a permanent mark. This is one of them. A story about abuse, physical violence, and trauma feels a little too real nowadays, and the way these topics were handled throughout the book was done very well.

Sierra is a smart woman. She did not turn into a victim overnight. It started with a comment here and there, incidents that, when viewed independently, did not raise concern. They might have raised an eyebrow, but they could easily be overlooked. As they became more frequent and she had to convince herself that she was the problem, not him, it became very obvious what was happening. Once things started to escalate, there was no going back.

Her journey back to her former self is not something that happens overnight and will take a long time. As an outsider, it is very easy to ask a victim why she did not just leave and why she allowed it to happen. The reality is that these are the very things that make it even harder for someone to leave.
Cole was there for her. He did not ask her these questions in the beginning. He may have asked himself those things, but he allowed her to come to her own conclusions. He allowed her to make mistakes along the way and always offered her a safe place.

While I appreciated their connection developing in a certain direction, I would have enjoyed seeing Sierra stand on her own feet for a little longer. That is just my personal opinion, though.
Overall, this was an intense story that covered topics that are not talked about enough, in my opinion, and I appreciated both the book and the author for it.

I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Where do I start? Thank you Nicole Bazley and Books & Bloom PR for allowing me to be a ARC reader for “The Right Side of His Wrong”.

I’ll start here check the trigger warnings before starting this book. The right side of his wrongs was written so well and really showcases all the stages and signs of DV. The FMC is young snd wishful of having a perfect relationship even though she knows the relationship is far from perfect. She moves with her boyfriend across the country to fulfill his dreams and put hers aside. She realizes she feels alone and should continue on with her dreams and future. She ends up getting a really good opportunity to further help her career. Her taking on a new schedule with more responsibilities causes more issues with her boyfriend but her hot rich boss will take notice….

Throughout this book there was self love quotes and mantras. The first one being “ I am worthy of love and respect, I love me”. Reading all of these was such a good reminder for healing and self love as I’m a survivor myself of Domestic Violence.

This ARC cams to me at a perfect time in my healing journey to never return to a “love” like this ever again. ♥️

I loved it. Loved every page of it despite the heaviness and pain.
I don’t think I was prepared for how much of the story would focus on the complicated reality of leaving an abusive relationship.
This book wasn’t written as simply as something terrible happens, she leaves, and everything is suddenly okay. It showed the fear, manipulation and …. hope… that maybe things will change.
And I think that’s why this book felt so real.
I also really loved the way healing was handled. Love didn’t suddenly erase everything that happened. She still had things to work through, pieces of herself to find again and a life to rebuild. Having someone safe beside her mattered, but this was still her journey.
The romance brought some much needed softness into such a heavy story too. I loved the patience and the feeling of safety between them.
This is one of those books where I think checking the trigger warnings beforehand is very important.
Definitely not an easy read, but a meaningful one.

The Right Side of His Wrong is a well written story covering a difficult subject matter, and abusive relationship, which I think has been handled very sensitively.

When reading the book I often found myself holding my breath waiting for the shoe to drop. I found myself frustrated with Sierra at times and angry with the other characters in the book. The story gave me a sense of foreboding and fear for the main character. Having said that, the story flows nicely and is, despite the tough subject, an enjoyable and smooth read.

The book does cover difficult subject matters so familiarity and awareness of the trigger warnings is required. Please refer to the author's website for more information.

I received an ARC of this book as always I will be honest with my thoughts and try not to give too much away

Nicole Bazley does it again has me hooked just from the prologue.
This is a raw and emotional read - please check trigger warnings
While reading this you are able to see events unfolding and you just want to scream at the FMC - but she needs to go through somethings to see clearly and to choose herself.

The way this book highlights the power of someone listening, giving you confidences and the tools/knowledge to help yourself is beautifully done (I think so)
The road is not an easy one and the healing process is long but can the FMC discover what love is really meant to be

Thank you so much to Nicole Bazley and Books & Bloom PR for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Right Side of His Wrong is an emotional romance following Sierra as she navigates escaping an abusive relationship and falling for a man that would give her anything. This book was beautifully written showing the effects of domestic abuse, how difficult it can be to escape the manipulation, and finding yourself afterwards.

The only reason I couldn’t rate it even higher is the fact that I wanted more information from Cole as well. I loved the amount of information we got regarding Sierra, but I felt that we didn’t get much of a backstory for Cole and I know I’d love him even more with more character development.

This was such an easy 5-star read for me. 💜

Domestic violence is something so many women experience, and the reality is that not everyone gets the chance to walk away, start over, and find their happy ending. That part is incredibly hard to sit with.

This story doesn’t shy away from the raw emotions that come with going through something difficult, finding the courage to leave, and figuring out how to start over. And honestly, I think there’s something really powerful about reading a story that reminds you that starting over IS possible.

I can see this book touching a lot of people in different ways. Maybe you’ll see pieces of your own experience in it and feel a little less alone, or maybe it will give you a better understanding of what other women in your life has gone through—or could be going through.

Definitely check the trigger warnings before picking this one up, but I truly think this is a story worth reading. 🖤 So thankful to have gotten an ARC in return for my honest review.

This was such a heavy, but carefully written story of abusive relationships. Its so easy to tell people to just leave. This story depicts exactly why it is so hard to. I have not been in an abusive relationship but my heart goes out to anyone that has.

Please check the trigger warnings as this one does have detailed descriptions of abuse.

I loved how gentle, and patient Cole was, even in the midst of Sierra's pain, and hurt. The relationship between Sierra and Cole came with sharp edges, understandably, and alot of healing.

You are not alone.

This is a powerfully emotional story about the strength of healing after a traumatic domestic experience.
The characters are compelling and memorable.
Sierra is escaping her ex and trying to move on and find love with Cole. What ensues is a heart wrenching foray into relationships and how they can affect us.
It’s a beautifully written, binge-worthy book that will make you think.
Please check the trigger warnings before reading because there’s some on-page things that happen.

Wow, just wow. This is the type of story that needs to be told so those who may be experiencing similar situations feel empowered to come forward, ask for help and ultimately take steps toward freedom.
