This was a really sexy little erotica/BDSM novella, and I have to say that Liam was so sexy!
I felt really sorry for Jess. Her mother had really screwed up her life, and it was really unfair the way she was expected to pay for her mother’s mistakes.
I felt like the story took a little while to get going, and it did seem a little information-heavy in places, but I guess this was just about setting the scene a bit. It did remind me of ‘The Arrangement’ at the half-way mark, but thankfully the second half of the story was really different.
This was quite a sexy story, and BDSM elements were introduced as the story went along.
The ending to this was pretty good ,and I’m now looking forward to book 2! 7.5 out of 10
Jessica is a simple girl, facing tough times because of her complicated screwed up mother. She got very little time to settle her mother’s debt. Just 7 days to arrange the money. This is an erotic story, but with a lot of heart in it. Jessica is a pleasant fleshed out character. I was able to immerse in her story from the first page. The plot is intriguing and author has a done a commendable job to craft and depict the scenes of the Playhouse, which is a kind of gentlemen’s club where people come to explore their sexuality. Seek and enjoy, all in polite, consensus way. There is everything to like in this short story, except that it is ‘short’, but that means you can stick to this series and follow the characters for a long time. There is a feel good thing about the book and although it is supposed to be erotic, I enjoyed it at several other levels. Jess’s relationship with her mother, her new job, her time at playhouse, and most of all, Liam – her hot, sexy multimillion mentor(Dom), who would not only help Jess discover her sexuality but also go as far getting her out of the clutches of drug mafia. If you are looking for a story with intelligent characters, believable plot and some decent (read tempting) sex scenes, this one is good to start with.
This book was truly exciting! The main character; while in a dire situation, is written to be strong, and determined – not to mention smart. Plus, Liam is a unique character, dominant yet sensitive, which for me adds to his appeal. The story is very well written, and undeniably sexy. The pace of the story is set delicately, and about mid-way through you will not be able to put it down. The stage has been set for a very intriguing follow-up. I have already pre-ordered the next book in the series, and I am counting the days!!!
Seven Days hooked me from the very first page. It’s fast, dark, and addictive in the way only Fanny Lee Savage can pull off. Even as a quick read, the tension, atmosphere, and character dynamic hit instantly and kept me turning pages.
Her writing is gripping and immersive, and the setup for book two is so good that I was ready to jump straight into the next one the moment I finished. There are a few minor editing slips, but nothing that takes away from how enjoyable and intense this story is.
Overall, a sharp, captivating read that delivers exactly what I love about Fanny Lee Savage: strong tension, emotional bite, and an ending that leaves you wanting more.
Jessica is just a young woman trying to make it out of the bad situation she grew up in thanks to her mother's life choices. she thinks things are finally looking up when she's threatened by drug dealers to come up with all the money her mother owes plus interest within the next seven days or else.
this is a spicy short story that takes you on an epic journey of self discovery. It's the first book in the series, highly recommend reading it
Great read good story about a young woman who’s mums got her self in debt and the young woman who is very intellengent as a week to find the 30,000 dollars so far a good read
Phew!!! The build up is orgasmic … can’t wait for four days . Fanny weaves a beautiful erotic tale on the backdrop of danger - and that is what makes it hot .
Wow, that's how an eager reader is hooked with no room for redemption! And that reader is me ;o)
Just with that starting point I was all alert and really curious to know about each and all of those men. What's more, the novella is very well written. I was fond of the style because it's got a lot of personality and a touch of dry humour.
Jessica is a likable character, easy to relate to. She's smart and driven, but her family issues keep dragging her through the dark side of life. That's how she ends up between the job of her dreams, working for a gorgeous CEO, and a dangerous venture into a kinky and exclusive club.
When Madam makes her appearance and explains an intriguing yet outrageous proposal to Jess, I found myself falling under the spell of her words. It was very tempting to hear about the philosophy around the club, Dom/sub relationships, and what she could offer Jess to help her out of her predicament. On top of that, Jess' first experience in the club is utterly sensual, surprising and delicious.
She's innocent, but not naïve or silly. Actually, she's very aware of her own self-worth, which combined with her wit and innocent beauty, makes a fantastic character to bond with.
The scenes are beautifully described. I loved how Jess struggles between her morality and the tough choice she has to make for survival. Also, natural curiosity and arousal have to be taken into account. She goes through several phases of training and experiences with one of the Four. Again, another hot point that spikes up all kind of naughty nerves.
And, oh my, that is such a hell of an introduction to a sexy Dom. Jess being Jess, she can't really submit without making mistakes and it drives the mysterious man crazy. I really enjoyed all their interactions, the ones born out of pure lust and those that deal with trust, her reason for being at the club and their mutual identities.
What's not to love about this impossibly hot journey into delights of the flesh? Also because it's told around two interesting and opposing characters that clash delightfully in a situation where trust and danger align to create a very appealing plot.
The ending to this first part promises wonderful things to come, and I really want to know if Jess can get out of the criminal hole she's in, and if sweet love blooms in this strange world of the Four.
Although this is short enough to be a novella, be aware that Seven Days by Fanny Savage is really the first part of a novel and a cruel tease. I suppose many readers of erotica are accustomed to a free first volume ending in a cliffhanger. If you want release, you must buy the next volume. With that in mind, the rest of the review will focus on the story and writing of this volume.
The lack of proofreading was a distraction for me. Examples: Buy punishment, I mean discipline ["by"]; thirty-thousand large to be exact [delete "-thousand"]; and, taller than my barely five and a half inches [missing "feet"]. Misplaced apostrophes for plurals and other minor grammatical issues are additional lapses in a slow starting story that ends up rather steamy and sensual.
The story starts on a believable note with the main character, Jess, getting her dream job as a designer at an architectural firm. Trouble soon follows because of her trailer park mother's bad habits. Soon our twenty-two year old heroine is in desperate need of cash in seven days. A fantasy, both erotic and financial, is in play for our Jess when she gets the chance for a big quick payday by signing up for a paid "internship" at a high class escort club.
Some whips and a few orgasms make it easy for a reader to go along with the story. Unfortunately for me, every time the steam settled, the characters seemed less plausible and elements of the plot more fantastic. Then again, I suspect realism is not the point. This story compels with sex and elements of BDSM.
No points off for being a tease but a star could be added if an editor worked some magic on the writing. Three and a half stars.
Jessica is desperate. She has only days to pay off her mother's illicit drug debt, or both she and her mother will be murdered. The only answer is to join an escort service.
The adventure begins with an interesting twist and proceeds along predictable lines, until we get deeper into the tale.
Savage leads us gradually and gently into the sex scene, as Jessica is torn between her urges and her moral boundaries. She must protect her mother and herself. She must escape to a better life for herself. She must have the man of her dreams. So it's a coming of age story. We understand her struggles because we understand what she is going through. The writing is strong and tantalizing as Savage provides depth in a well-developed character. However we occasionally are jarred by awkward construction--such as misplaced or missing commas or words.
Her masterful use of first person point of view keeps us in the present tense. We see the world through Jessica's eyes, read her thoughts as they appear in realistic ways. The author stays away from trite expressions. Philosophy and emotion blend as the writer attempts to elevate the oldest profession to a plane of dignity and respect.
Fear drives the story. Fear of death, of moral trespass. And Jessica works for F.E.A.R.
Just as we get involved, the story leaves us hanging, without a single resolution. It is to be continued in another book, which gets my ire up. It gives the feel of an introduction. Erotica and unresolved stories are not for me. Nevertheless, the strong writing and character development can carry lovers of this genre into the next book in the series.
SEVEN DAYS is a well written erotic romance. The main character, Jessica Caughlin, is masterfully developed. Ms. Savage's character arch is timely and matches nicely with a twisting plot, artfully crafted from the opening pages. The writing is crisp and concise with just the right blend of imagery and visceral descriptors. Jess's romantic and erotic interest, Liam, is a forceful shadowy figure who I trust we will learn more about in upcoming books. Certainly a novella format does not allow for the in depth character presentation that most readers relish. That's okay - but we expect to be wow'ed in the next book of the series. I'll be ordering it soon. SEVEN DAYS was reviewed by me in the course of a Goodread.com author review group session.
Seven Days reminded me of the excellent 1976 movie The Opening of Misty Beethoven in which a girl is trained to inspire seduction. Fanny Lee Savage's story is so erotic it's uncomfortable. Yet, by adding small touches of originality (a boss who uses a gurney as a desk, a 'brothel' that pays its prostitutes by making them shareholders), it surpasses the mere erotic fantasy. If you're into erotica, this book should be on top of your TBR list.
I liked this book very much. Even though it's slow at first, it keeps you at the edge of your seat. I'm looking towards reading the next book because of the unexpected cliffhanger. This book reminds me of that show you're watching, but then it ends and because you got attached to the characters you never wanted it to come to an end. This is how I felt about this book.
