If you are looking for a comprehensive understanding of the life of Akihiro Miwa, this is not it. This reads more like what should've been an essay extended to novella length in order to meet a prescribed word count. The same thing is said, over and over, in various ways. There is nothing terribly informative or deep here about his/her (their?) life, merely surface observations about the obvious. Yes, Miwa was one-of-a-kind, yes Miwa was artistic, yes Miwa was something different. So were a lot of people in the twentieth century. I need to know more specific things, not generalizations about the creative temperament.
