മുകളിൽ ദുഃഖത്തിന്റെ വിസ്തൃതമായ ആകാശം. താഴെ സുഖമെന്ന ഇത്തിരിഭൂമി. ഇവയ്ക്കടിയിൽ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ നെടും പാത. ആ നെടും പാതയിലൂടെ കടന്നുതീണ്ടി അഗ്നിജ്വാലകൾ ഉയരുന്ന ആത്മാവുകളോടെ എണ്ണമറ്റ യാത്രികർ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു. അവരിൽ ചെറിയൊരു വിഭാഗം മാത്രം സുഖാലസ്യത്തോടുകൂടി കിടക്കുന്ന പാതയിലെത്തിച്ചേരുന്നു. മറ്റുള്ളവർ ഒന്നുമില്ലായ്മയുടെ, ഇരുൾ മൂടിയ ദീപുകളിലും. ഈ നോവലിലെ കഥാപാത്രമായ സുനിത സാഹിത്യകാരിയും കോളേജ് അദ്ധ്യാപികയുമാണ്. അവൾ അനുഭവങ്ങളുടെ നൂലാമാലകളിലൂടെ യാത്ര തുടരുകയായി. അനിശ്ചിതത്വത്തിന്റെയും സ്വൈരമില്ലായ്മയുടെയും വീണുകീറുന്ന പാതയിൽ-അവസാനം തളർന്ന മനസ്സും ക്ഷീണിച്ച ദേഹവുമായി ഒരിടത്തിറങ്ങി. ജൈത്രയാത്രയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു വന്യസൃഷ്ടിയാണ് താനെന്ന് അവൾക്കപ്പോൾ തോന്നി.

Nice little Novel. Discovered this author/ work at the local library.
The protaganist is similar to the one in her other Novel titled Draupathi.
Here too, she is a teacher, who is also a young & talented writer and who is in love with another famous writer, gets a job in a remote college and stays in the college hostel (which has a good view of the nature from her room)
But the events are different and also the ending is less tragic here.
Had a nice time reading this Novel.
Hoping to explore more of MDR's works.
