New York Times bestselling author Skye Jordan brings you another steamy Renegades story!
Bad boy Troy Jacobs is all about taking risks. As a stunt double for Hollywood’s A-listers, there’s no fall he won’t attempt. With one exception—women. Troy fell hard once, and it nearly broke him. Since then, he’s vowed never to trust like that again and he’s got everything under control. Until the woman who shattered his heart years before shows up on his movie-set.
Country music star Giselle “Ellie” Diamond learned long ago that sometimes love isn’t enough. When love got in the way of her goals, she made the tough choice to let go of happily ever after and chased the glitz and glamour of the stage. It may not be all she expected, but now it’s all she has. And with a worldwide tour on the line, Ellie needs one last gig to rocket her toward stardom: a high-profile roll in a blockbuster film.
Passion sparks, and old feelings return. But while Troy and Ellie grow closer their problems from the past simmer in the background. And this time around, there's more tearing them apart than just one star-studded career.
All books in the Renegades series may be read as stand alone books.
The Renegades series includes: RECKLESS REBEL RICOCHET RUMOR RELENTLESS RENDEZVOUS RIPTIDE RAPTURE
The Renegades are back...and Troy...well he's one of those dirty hot guys! He's big, broody, and completely delectable! What could be better than a sexy man jumping from buildings? Maybe a sexy stuntman taming a bright country music star with a collar?!
If you have read the previous books in this series then you are familiar with the scorching heat that Skye Jordan can bring. She ups the passion here as she brings that deep alpha heat and combines the elements of a first love and heartbreak.
Troy had a bad past in the foster system. He spent the last few years before breaking free protecting a beautiful singing angel, Giselle. They were everything to one another...a love for the ages...until a chance at fame and fortune pushed them apart.
Too young? perhaps. Time had passed and both have achieved success. Giselle is on the path for more but at what cost? A night of seduction and a "stranger" encounter brings Troy and Giselle back into each other's lives. The passion is explosive. The past is stifling. The present uncertain. It is going to take alot of communication and time together to find that trust and connection again...when it happens...BOOM! Let the Renegade Love - fest begin. Have a change of panties and a cold one to cool you off!
Ever since we've started hearing bits and pieces about Troy and his lost love, I've been dying to find out what happened. However, I was in no way prepared for how this book started off!
My heart goes out to Troy...he was hurt deeply and it shows. I loved how Zahara was there for him and pushed him to talk to Giselle (Ellie). Unfortunately, like I said, their first meeting was intense and then there was the fallout from that.
I'm not sure how I felt about Ellie. It felt like she filled Troy's void by staying focused on her singing career, never rethinking things and never deviating. I liked that Troy woke her up and it really helped getting both their POVs.
They were quite a few dramas...some more necessary than the others. I do like how things came together and the ending was really sweet!
There's no info at this time about who's book is next. I would love for it to be Zahara's but there's also Duke, Keaton and Cameron's (he's a new guy) that I wouldn't mind either.
Favorite quote:
♥ "But you were what I always dreamed of having. You were always my family.”
I received an advanced copy for my honest review... And honestly this is one of my favorite books in the series... I was so happy to finally see Troy's story... YAY... Oh, so my review...
Troy Jacobs was always know as the bad boy to those in the Renegades stunt crew. But that was only the exterior. Troy was showing a person to keep from letting people know what he hid from the world. The world that crashed down on him when he got on the set in Las Vegas and saw her face EVERYWHERE!
Giselle "Ellie" Diamond, Country Music star, best friend to Ryker and Troy and also the love of Troy's life. She was the one who walked away and never looked back. She followed her dreams, but now those dreams have led her to Las Vegas and near the man she has never been able to forget.
While trying to escape the woman who tore him apart, and while trying to fix her career, Troy & Ellie run into each under disguise. The draw to each other is obviously strong and Troy is once again trapped into the strong chemistry and lost in the spell.
Their careers and friendships bring them together once again and at the same time the two things are tearing them apart. They have to fight with the demons of the past and the feelings within their heart to figure out whether or not they are willing to fight for each other.
Troy truly shows strength in this story and it makes you cheer for him and want him to truly be happy and get his HEA! And I am waiting for him to get an apology in a future book from one of those stubborn Renegades (hint, hint, Skye!!!)
Either way, Book was AMAZING! Troy was a true Renegade!!!
I don't even know where to begin! This book has to be my favorite in this series, and let me tell you I did not think anyone could have gotten better than Wes. Well, I was wrong, because HELLO Troy!!
Troy and Ellie were in the same foster home. Troy and another renegade, Ryker always looked out for Ellie. Things changed and Ellie and Troy became not only best friends but lovers. Ellie's career as a country singer took off and she left Troy behind. For seven years Troy has thought of the pain that Ellie caused him after she left. He never thought he wanted to see her again, until the one night he actually ran into her, at a sex club no less. Needless to say, sparks were flying!! Although Ellie didn't know the devil in disguise was Troy.
This book explores the two in present day, but also revisits the past and the pain and regret that both Troy and Ellie have. Both are strong willed and don't want to admit to still loving the other.
This book was HOT from the very beginning. I did not want to put it down. Troy was bossy and grumpy and oh so hot!!
I received this book in advance for a very honest review. Thank you.
I have been a fan of Skye Jordan's Renegades series from the start and while I enjoyed Relentless for me there was just too much angst and emotional drama. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the story, I did but I didn't love it like I did the other books in this series. Friends who became lovers whose lives were torn apart when one chose fame over their relationship are reunited under unusual circumstances leading to confusion, heartache, anger and eventually understanding, acceptance and love.
Growing up in less than stellar foster homes left Troy Edwards and Giselle (Ellie) Diamond with emotional scars but finding love with each other was a bright spot until Ellie's country music singing career took off leaving Troy left out and their relationship in tatters. Throughout this book we see them now and are treated to glimpses of their past lives together giving us a pretty good look at what they are thinking and feeling.
I've always appreciated wild man, bad boy Troy and his big, bad attitude but in this book we see another side of him the side that was hurt badly and the one he hides from everyone. Honestly his behavior with Ellie the first time he encounters her after so many years kind of surprised me because I always felt he was a pretty stand up guy and his actions seemed a little "off" for someone who has been pretty honorable but I think he'd even agree that what he did wasn't wise for his own state of mind.
Ellie was one of those characters that I had a hard time truly liking. There were moments when I felt bad for her and when I understood her insecurities but there were other times when she seemed so self centered and almost diva like which drove me a little crazy. I hate the way she let people manipulate her and how easily she agreed to things she wasn't sure about. More than that I kind of resented how she easily she blamed Troy for so many of their issues when she was equally if not more responsible.
They spent a good deal of this book at odds and it took what felt like a contrived (and easy to see coming) incident to force them to look at their relationship past and present and make some big decisions yet even that wasn't enough and we had a bit more drama to get through before they both finally came to their senses.
While there was no denying that Troy and Ellie belonged together there were several moments when I wanted to lock them in a room together and not let them out until they hashed it all out. The true saving grace of this story was the interactions between the Renegades team; it was much needed and appreciated comic relief.
Every once in a while an author whose work I love writes a book that just doesn't resonate with me and that is this book. While there were moments in Relentless I enjoyed there were more that frustrated me and left me feeling somewhat disappointed.
In the fourth Renegades Series Country meets Hot Stuntman Action with the twist of a second chance romance.
Troy Jacobs is the best of best in the world of stuntmen, coming up rough in the land of foster homes, he finally has something solid in his life. Until he sees her.
Ellie used to be Troy’s world. The girl he loved, the girl he protected, the girl that he did anything he could do to ensure her dreams came true. And they did. They just didn’t include him.
On the cusp of greatness, Ellie is working shows in Vegas and is placed in a small role in the movie that Troy is working on, but meeting on set isn’t the first time they’ve seen each other since he’s been in Vegas. In the cloak of secrecy, Troy got a taste of Ellie, a taste he’s been thirsting for, for years.
Troy sees how hard Ellie is working, how hard she is being pushed and he knows that unless someone steps in, everything will be for nothing. But breaking through her walls is proving to be impossible, and both struggle to forgive each other for their pasts or be honest with each other about their feelings.
I enjoyed this book immensely although I did find it frustrating how little honesty these two had. How both refused to address the actual issues and yet continued to try to push towards something of a future. I felt like for every inch forward, we took two feet backwards. This push-pull continues throughout the story and I was just dying to get to the place where every card was laid out. Overall, another great installment of this series.
I'm just gonna put this out there. I love Troy & Ellie. First of all friends to lovers, my favorite. The tortured love Troy has for El will break your heart. Troy's changed in the years him and El have been apart, but his love has not. He just wishes she would love him in return. Giselle has everything she's ever wanted in her career but her personal life is missing everything. And that is made evident when their paths cross professionally. Can they overcome their hurt? Can they find a compromise that would allow their lives to mesh? Will they decide that what they have is worth the fight or will they allow history to repeat itself? I enjoyed this installment of The Renegade series and am looking forward to which one we get to meet next!
Who can't get enough of the Sexy Bad Asses that make up the stunt team Renegades??? I for one, can't. Seriously, they guys can do no wrong. All Troy ever wanted was to put the love of his life out of sight, out of mind. "Could it be that simple?" "...my answer would be: probably not." She shattered his heart when she walked out all those years ago.
"You've got a ton of money, which you don't even use. You've got the power of a celebrity, which you neither use nor want. You've got the hip and fast lifestyle of a musician on the road, which has done nothing but left you lonely and haggard." Sometimes you biggest dreams and fantasies are just tragic and full of regret.
Troy is left wondering Could he... Should he... Would he... let her walk right back into his life?
I was honored to receive an ARC of Relentless by Skye Jordan. I really enjoy this series and was so happy to see resident bad boy stuntmen Troy Jacobs finally be the star.
Troy and Giselle (along with Ryker), grew up in the same foster care home. As soon as they were old enough Troy and Elle left and became lovers but also best friends. Troy helped Elle with her career until he felt he wasn't good enough for her anymore. Now after all those years, it turns out both still hold feelings for each other but they aren't on the same page.
Troy can't get her out of his head or his heart and Elle can't let go of the hurt and deep pain he caused her. After a chance encounter in a sex club, Troy decides it's time to get her out of his mind once and for all. But his plans backfire.
If you need a read that's like an emotional rollercoster, pick this one up. You'll feel the excitement of going up the first hill and when it drops you'll feel it in your stomach.
I'm not usually a fan of second chance love stories, but I'll make an exception for the Renegades. Relentless was relentlessly angsty, but in the best way possible. No manufactured drama or soap opera silliness, just two people who love each other so much but have a ton of baggage weighing them down -- set against a backdrop of crazy Renegade stunts. I love the way Skye Jordan knows her stuff and crafts such a believable universe. Her skill makes it easy to sink into the story and really enjoy her well-crafted characters.
* I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Stuntman Troy Jacobs is used to taking risks, it’s his job and he gets paid well for it. In his personal life however, Troy plays it safe with meaningless flings. It’s a lesson he learned the hard way after falling hard and fast for a woman who didn’t just break his heart, she smashed it into a million pieces. Troy almost has himself convinced that he’s over it, over her until that same woman walks onto the movie he’s working on, and back into his life sending his mind back into the past.
In order for her music career to really take off, country singer Giselle “Ellie” Diamond needs her high profile role in an upcoming blockbuster film to be a success. Even knowing she hurt Troy, Ellie is willing to at least be civil with him for old times’ sake. But old hurts and stronger feelings keep Troy and Ellie from moving on. The time they spend together on set only makes them grow closer but just when they’re on the verge of rekindling their romance, they once again find themselves with the same problems that tore them apart years before.
I fell in love, had my heart broken, suffered from angst, dealt with frustration and fell in love all over again…
I’m describing my experience reading Skye Jordan’s Relentless of course, but I might as well have been speaking about Troy’s journey through the book. Naturally it’s more complicated than what those few words describe but it’s pretty much the gist of his long ride from misery to happiness. This guy went through the ringer and I loved that the author gave him an emotional side. Here’s this good guy, not perfect but a pretty good guy who had his heart torn out of his chest and is now having to spend a lot of time with the woman responsible. I felt bad for him even as I wanted to strangle him for his stubbornness. Troy was pure alpha male with a side of torn up, lovesick puppy. It was an irresistible combination. Add in the heavy dose of angst and brooding and I was a total goner!
Giselle wasn’t the bad guy in Relentless though! I feel I gotta stand up for women like her who chose a career over a romance that may or may not last. She had dreams and shouldn’t have had to give them up and she didn’t so good for her! Should she and Troy have tried harder to make it work? Heck yeah and they’re both to blame for that but I loved that she chose to follow her dreams rather than just give them up for a young love that might have blown up in her face and made them both bitter. That’s what really made me a fan of Giselle’s. She wasn’t perfect but she had her own mind and did what she had to in order to better herself in life. Was it all peaches and cream? Well no but that’s part of what made her choice a good one. She needed that experience so that she could then make a decision that wouldn’t have her going “But what if…” later on down the road. That took guts to walk away from someone she loved in order to pursue her own goals. I loved her strength and her vulnerability. She loved Troy but that didn’t mean she was going to put up with his crap or toss away her hard work for him either. Good for her for being willing to work hard to have both her career AND the man she loved!
With such a heavy conflict between Troy and Giselle, I thought that there wouldn’t be much room for any hot and heavy stuff but I was wrong! Troy and Giselle still had that fire that could not be extinguished. Even through the hurt and the resentment, they were still deeply in love and they still had an undeniable physical chemistry that threatened to set my e-reader on fire. There’s nothing quite like reunion sex tinged with regrets and resentment. More than just sexy scenes, Jordan also does a wonderful job of immersing readers into the world of stunt men and women without weighing down the story with too many technical terms. In some scenes I felt like I was part of the action!
As a big modern country music fan, I have to say that I loved that Giselle was a rising country singer. I could honestly plan an entire country music playlist around this story without breaking a sweat but one song that fits Troy and Giselle’s romance is one that shares the same title, Relentless by Jason Aldean. Coincidence? Look up the lyrics after you read the book and you decide.
As angsty and complicated as Troy and Giselle’s relationship was, Relentless was still, in my opinion a pretty easy read. There’s plenty of humor, lots of sexual tension and a mini reunion with previous characters in the series. The guys (and gals) of the Renegades are a fun group of people who don’t always make it easy on themselves in the romance department but the trip is half the fun!
Final Verdict: Relentless can be read as a standalone but why limit yourself to just one angst ridden hunk?
I have read all of the books in the Renegade series and generally I liked every one of them but this one had a different feel to me. The connection between Troy and Giselle was on a different level than the relationships in the other books (I’m not saying it’s better, it was just different). This was the first book where the couple in the story had a prior relationship. Normally, I don’t go for second chance love. I don’t know why, maybe I’m just a cold witch but I’m usually like if you blew it the first time around, I don’t want to hear from you ever again. In life or in writing. I’m like the Grinch of second chance romance, my heart is 2 sizes too small. But I digress (as usual). I may have been playing second chance romances short because history between the main characters allows for a far richer dynamic in the present day relationship .
In the case of Troy and Giselle, they had been together as teenagers and early in their adult years. Troy and Giselle met in the foster care system and formed a bond based on their joint struggles against abuse and just for basic survival. Troy was Giselle’s protector and later, her lover. Giselle had a gift for singing which Troy helped her to develop and promote in the early days. When Giselle eventually begins to achieve fame and recognition, she and Troy don’t know how to navigate the shifting landscape of their lives or their relationship so they eventually separate. The breakup is ugly because of the intensity of the feelings involved. Seven years later the two are not over each other and reunite in a very sexy albeit totally unexpected way. Despite their intense physical chemistry, the book chronicles their journey from lust to hurt and anger to forgiveness and back to love.
The thing that really left an impression on me about this book is the way the author conveys the intensity of the feelings between Troy and Giselle. Whether the feelings were positive or negative, the story is told in a way that you feel it which connects you to the characters. From the first page, you have a clear picture of Troy’s pain over the past and his desire to just forget. The thing that is compelling about Giselle is her contradictions. On the outside Giselle is famous and beautiful and put together. But on the inside, everything is just a hot mess. I loved that both Troy and Giselle saw through each other’s facades and were able to tell one another the truth about each other even when they had a hard time accepting the truth about themselves.
I absolutely love the ups and downs between Troy and Giselle. The issues that arise for both of them didn’t come across as unnecessary angst. Instead it felt more like genuine conflict that would occur given their situation. And the sex was just very very HAWT!!! To get such a well told story and great sex is like a fried donut with no calories. Life just doesn’t get any better than that!
For all you Renegade fans, we do get an update on some of the other Renegades who make brief appearances in this book. I would also like to say for those of you, like me, who read the last book about Ryker and Rachel, if you didn’t love that one, this one is much better. I liked the last book but there was entirely too much information about Hollywood stunts and PTSD for me. This book doesn’t veer away from the story of the main characters so even if you’re hesitant, don’t be, this book is worth reading. Look at that, I’m all about the second chances today.
After meeting Ryker in Ricochet I didn't think there was a way Skye Jordan would be able to come up with a Renegade that I could love more. But she did. And then some. By giving me Troy. Oooohhh Troy, how I love this bad boy with a sweet heart.
Relentless is the 4th full length novel in the Renegades series, and this may just be the best one yet. It's a fantastic emotional story about lost love and second chances.
Troy and Ellie share a long, strained history. Even though it's been years since they were young lovers Troy's never really gotten over the heartbreak, never allowing himself to feel the way he felt with Ellie. This unexpected reunion has brought old feelings to the surface for both of them, feelings that never really faded, even with all the time and distance between them.
"Your presence is a constant reminder of how badly I fucked up the only good thing in my life, and it hurts, goddamit. It hurts like hell."
There are a lot of issues these 2 need to work out, if they are ever going to be able to move on together. With Troy not knowing if he'll be able to trust Ellie again, and Ellie still so focused on her career that life is just passing her by...will these 2 ever be able to work out their differences?
"The words brought hope and fear, joy and pain. So much confusion."
There was so much heartache in this story, but there's also a lot of love, tenderness, and sweetness. It's also fun and flirty and sexy. And since it is a story about a Renegade you know it's going to be hot, hot, hot! I completely adored this book. I really loved the relationship between Ellie and Troy- watching as they navigated their renewed feelings for each other, as they fell in love all over again. Troy has rocketed up to the top of my bbf list, he's a badass with a heart of gold.
***I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was delighted to receive an ARC for this book from Skye. I love this series and the family of Stunt Men & Women she's given to us. This book was VERY HOT! These two people are so broken and really need to reconnect to be whole. I love second chance stories and Skye's take on it is full of believable conflict. Troy Jacobs is Ryker's BFF and Giselle is their foster sister from their teens they protected. Troy and Ellie became lovers after Ryker took off for the military. Giselle's singing career finally took off and Troy as her manager/protector/lover no longer worked. Eventually she chose her career over Troy and he left to crash and burn in heartbreak. Fast forward 7 years and they are both working on the same movie. Their passionate relationship sparks again. I really like Sky's author's voice. When the story came to the crisis I was afraid she'd take the predictable route but I should have known she'd make me a believer in her story crafting once again. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to shout out to others to READ THIS SERIES!
DNF 30% What an awful heroine. She was detached and sometimes even a bit cold and I could feel, all through the story, that her music was much more important to her than the H. It's her problem this book was DNF by me!!
Once again Skye brings it. This instalment was really good. I loved, loved Troy, his vulnerability, his passion, his raw need for Ellie and throw in his alpha hotness and you have a winner. Ellie was super frustrating at times in the fact that she was so hung up on her career, she couldn't see what she was doing to Troy. What a pair. However all's well that ends well. Loved this one.
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
This is the first book I am reading in Skye Jordan's Renegades series, though this is not the first book in the series. The main characters are Troy and Giselle. These two had been in the same foster home as teens and ended up falling in love. However due to immaturity and ambitions pulling them in different directions, they break up. Seven years later, Giselle is an about-to-break-it-big country star and Troy is a successful stuntman. Troy has never gotten over Giselle (Ellie) and when he sees her again, what he really wants is to get her out of his system. Ellie still had deep feelings for Troy but never counts on seeing him again as she chose her career over him.
The story had a lot of good things going for it. I liked the stunt crew atmosphere. It had great camaraderie and descriptors that made me envision what these dangerous stunts were like to perform. I really connected with Ellie's character. I felt her character was really well fleshed out. Ellie had an extremely difficult and abusive childhood and she was still suffering the ramifications from it. She was also ambitious and I loved that she never apologized for that. She had worked hard and sacrificed for where she was at. However, there were times she was so broken that my heart broke for her. She had truly let her fear of her past rule her future and present. She allowed herself to be manipulated at times. It was good to see Ellie move from scared to confident. Ellie had a lot of growth in this story overall.
Troy seemed like a good guy but I had a problem with how he first encounters Ellie. I feel he was deceptive and it was a bit creepy. I don't know if I would have been as forgiving as Ellie. Also, he ran so hot and cold with Ellie it was like watching a yo-yo. I feel Troy really did not treat Ellie well. When he was kind, he was the kind of hero we all wanted but when he was cold, he was like an iceberg to her. It was really hard for me to root for Troy after some of his childish behavior.
I would have liked to have read more about Troy and Ellie's past history together (perhaps in a flashback chapter) though we got bits and pieces here and there. I knew there was a strong connection but these two but there was something missing for me to really feel the connection / love between these two.
I liked Relentless but I was not over the top excited about it. I liked it enough to read the first books in the series.
I've been a fan of this series from book 1, page 1 of Reckless!! And I was honored to receive an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and true opinion.
With each book Skye gives us more and more of the hotness of the men and women of the Renegades Stunt "family". I say family because that's what all of them are to each other. Through all of the books, I've maintained my "loyalty" to Jax because in my mind he's been the Hottest of Hot men in this group. Well let me tell you, Troy has just about nosed Jax out of first place in my heart.
Troy and Giselle (Ellie), along with Ryker (who's story we get in Ricochet) have a past that we really didn't know too much about until this book where we learn the pain of their childhoods and their time in a foster home. It was young love for Troy and Giselle when they were there together but as often happens in life, choices are made that while at the time seem like the absolute right thing to do, in hind sight, probably should have been thought through a little more. But if they hadn't made those choices we wouldn't have their story today. We meet Ellie again when she's just breaking through to stardom as a singer and Troy is in Vegas working a stunt.
Both Troy and Ellie are so broken and damaged from how they were raised that they both haven't been able to find their "true soul mate" since they lost each other as teenagers. The fact that when they reconnect is under a shroud of disguise while Ellie is doing research for a music video, brings a whole new level of complexity to their relationship.
Through twists and turns in the book we get to experience their coming together again and what they have to go through to get there. There is deceit, heartbreak, greediness, trauma and some of the HOTTEST SEX I've ever read not only in Skye's books, but EVER. I think she just may have outdone herself with this one!
Along the way, we get to see all our favorites again and where they are in their lives right now and how they surround Troy and eventually Ellie to bring her into the Renegades family.
While you can read this book as a stand alone, a lot of the background for this story may not make too much sense, but don't let that stop you from picking this one up along with all the others in the Renegades series. This is a NOT TO BE MISSED chapter in the Renegades series.
I love this series. Each is better than the last, which is pretty hard when they are all panty melting hot!!
Troy and Giselle (Ellie) were in the same foster home. Troy and Ryker, another renegade, Ryker always looked out for Ellie. As they got older she and Troy evolved into a loving relationship. He shlepped her about to gigs when her singing career took off but when he gave her an ultimatum when her career was beginning to come between them, she chose her career.
Now years later their paths are set to cross again. Troy is now an in demand stunt coordinator and Ellie is singing the movies theme tune. When he visits a sex club to get her off his mind, who does he sneaking in...Ellie!!!
With a little subterfuge Troy and Ellie have a passionate encounter but when she finds out who her masked devil was she is one unhappy bunny!!! Will they be able to get through the insecurities each have with their pasts? Will Ellie's career once again interfere with their relationship? Will the regrets each harbours over the end of their previous relationship sabotage their 2nd chance? Both are strong willed and don't want to admit to having never really stopped loving each other.
OMG this was hot on so many levels!! I don't want to give away any spoilers but the passion between these two glows white hot! They met so early in life and neither really had the emotional tools to cope with what they had. Troy is perfect as the playboy stuntman and Ellie reminds me so much of Taylor Swift!!! I love their chemistry. Great writing and the characters from earlier books make appearances at various points, which is lovely to see and makes the books so far into a cohesive unit, but still able to be read as stand alones!!!
Relentless is a well paced, passionate, second chance romance.
I liked how Skye didn't draw out Troy and Giselle's background stories too much. By knowing where they came from and what they've overcome I felt close to Troy and Giselle, like I really knew them. They are both strong characters, and the pull between them when they end up being in the same place at the same time is palpable. The conflict and emotions they go through in Relentless were a roller coaster ride! Both of them have over come so much, but the past still haunts them each. Troy has never gotten over Giselle, and his heart ache was very easy to feel through Skye's writing. He seemed more vulnerable than Giselle, and I really felt for him. Giselle has her own heart ache, but the choices she made have shaped her present. As they somewhat reluctantly come together again, there is conflict, tension, and a lot of steam! I was interested to see how things would turn out for them, and Skye kept me hooked in their very intriguing story.
There is some explicitness to Relentless, and it works well and fits in relevantly with the plot.
The secondary characters all have something to add, and made things even more interesting.
Relentless is part of Renegades series by Skye Jordan, but it can easily be enjoyed as a stand alone.
I'd recommend Relentless to any romance reader who enjoys the bumpy road of a second chance romance.
Lord have mercy, Skye Jordan never fails to completely suck me into one of her books. Relentless kept me up reading until 1:15 am the other night and it was hours of sleep that I was perfectly okay with losing. Freaking Troy... I did not see this guy coming. He was kind of a jackass and I wanted to punch him a few times.
No punches were pulled in Relentless. Troy and Giselle had some major history and baggage between them that had to be hashed out. It wasn't easy between the two of them. They had so much anger between them at times and Ms. Jordan didn't glaze over it and I appreciated that. I guess you could call it angst, but I think that wouldn't be giving that aspect of the storyline enough credit. Troy and Giselle argued and yelled and had pissed off sex. I swear at one point, I was yelling at my Kindle...at Troy. "WTF are you thinking, dude?" Luckily, he comes to his senses somewhat (lol) because the connection and history between him and Giselle is too deep to deny.
Another fantastic addition to the sexy Renegades Series By Skye!!
This is a love lost and rekindled story with an awesome HEA.
Troy is one of Renegades top stunt men, working hard in the grueling heat of Las Vegas, NV. While working on another intense action film, Troys ex girlfriend, Giselle, also happens to be in the Vegas area for work purposes.
Giselle, or Ellie, is one of the hottest, up and coming country-rock stars right now.
The sparks fly when Troy and Ellie are set to work together. After some interesting catching up, are either of them up to the new found or is it rekindled, connection?
Seeing the love affair these two have again was hot, and stimulating.
With Ellie's career taking off and Troy just wanting to be by her side, what happens when it all comes crashing down, literally?
Will their love be enough to get them through this time around or will it all be just like before?
Troy and his sexy alpha tendencies may be more than Ellie bargained for, this is not the boy she left behind years ago, but a man, a man on a mission, a mission to keep the love of his life.
Skye Jordan is a master at stimulating sensual entertainment. With the Renegade series she gives you passionate stories with great emotional depth. Relentless is no exception. Troy and Giselle journey through first love, lost love and reunited love. Their story is told with an intriguing mixture of sensitivity, grace and fire. These are the emotions that anyone who loved and lost would feel. What I like most about Ms. Jordan’s stories is that she captivates her audience from beginning to end. She does this by immersing the reader in not just the sensual aspect of the story but her descriptions of the emotions that each character is dealing with allows the reader the ability to experience empathy. This allows a better understanding of the story and helps the reader to be drawn in. I received an ARC of Relentless for an honest review. I LOVED IT.
Relentless is another wonderful installment in the Renegades series!
Troy and Ellie have a past together, their lives were all planned out, and then Ellie got her "big break" and their lives came crashing down. Ellie became the big star she always dreamed about and Troy left a piece of his heart behind when he left Ellie.
Overall, the entire Renegade's series has been an absolutely fantastic red-hot read, and Relentless doesn't disappoint! Second chances at love, smokin' hot alpha dudes, edge of your seat drama, lots of heat between the sheets, and I just adore the sense of camaraderie & humor we get between all the guys from Renegades!
Any book by Skye Jordan is an automatic read for me, but, the Renegades series is a must-have, need-to-read, right-now, set of books! If you haven't started this series yet...what are you waiting for?
This is my first book in this series and it definitely can be read as a standalone. I didn't feel as if I was missing anything by not reading the first few books first. As expected from Skye Jordan, Relentless features lots of hot, raw sex scene. But unlike a lot of books that I've read that seem to feature only sex, sex and more sex, Skye adds in a lot of raw emotions and passion. I could feel the pain Troy felt and the fear Giselle experienced. The passion, fire and raw emotions left me wanting more. I was definitely captivated by each scene and just couldn't stop reading. Definitely going to read the rest of the series.

First, I absolutely love the Renegades series!!
Troy is not my favorite Renegade but his tortuous love with Giselle definitely is my fav. There was a low level of Alpha/cocky in this book compared to the others in this series. Not complaining, just making the reader aware. Both Troy and Giselle have serious baggage from their childhood which I am surprised they were able to overcome and become the successful individuals presented in this book. But are they happy? Did success bring them what they felt they wanted/needed? At one point I hated them both for being so beautifully broken, but sometimes you have to go through the valley to reach the mountain top.

I struggled with this book, it started fine and then the angst took over and became tiresome. That amount of angst to me was unnecessary it lasted for more than half of the book then went away for a short time only to return.
The hero was an asshole who had numerous opportunities to change the way things were between him and heroine and every single time he did the same stupid things only learning the error of his ways when she got hurt.
I found both the hero and heroine immature. I felt that the story took too long to get to the part where they were together as a couple.
I've read and enjoyed other books by this author but this story just didn't work for me.
