While this is the third book in the Love and Weddings trilogy, it stands really well on its own.

We’ve met Maya in previous books, but it was fun to find out her back story and what she is doing in Fircrest. As it turns out, she’s on the run from an abusive ex boyfriend and hiding out until she can save enough money to move again. When she suspects her ex-boyfriend has found her she needs to find a new apartment and ends up renting from the gorgeous Tristan. Tristan has sworn off women ever since his heart was broken when his girlfriend ran off and married another man.

I thought Maya and Tristan were perfect for each other. They both have strong personalities, but seem to balance each other out. I also liked that they both felt comfortable opening up to each other, sharing their pasts and really ended up communicating well - despite their rocky start. I also loved how the town came together to help protect Maya, even though some of them had good reason not to.

Overall, I thought this was an entertaining read with a sweet romance, a bit of suspense and that fun small-town charm.

Maya is on the run from her abusive ex boyfriend and finds herself in our dear town of Fircrest. All she wants is a fresh start and to feel safe. When she starts getting the cold shivers running down her spine and the feeling that she's being watched, she knows that Carter has found her. Now how is she going to be able to feel safe again?!

Tristan was burned by his ex girlfriend. While he was thinking it was true love, that they were meant to be together... she was out looking for bigger and better and ends up leaving him and taking his heart with her. She has turned Tristan into a bitter, grouchy man who refuses to ever trust women again. That is until Maya comes along and starts to open his eyes. She helps him to see that while his ex stole his heart right out of his chest... with hope and faith he can grow a new and better one.

Maya and Tristan were perfect for each other! They totally helped to balance the other out and helped each other to see just how strong they both really are. They learned together that life can and will go on and maybe... just maybe... it'll be better than they could ever imagine!

I absolutely LOVED At Last! It was AMAZING! Not only do we get to know Tristan and Maya better but we get to catch up with some of our other favorites in Fircrest. Best thing ever!

Another great edition to the Fircrest series! This one is definitely my favorite of this series. 😍

And let me guess... you're dying to see my casting choice... right? Well... I absolutely LOVE this one! Eeeeek! Are you ready?

Loved this book. It seems all my old friends were in this book. Yay! It was like a friend reunion. I love how they all pulled together to help Maya. This book really hit my sweet spot and I just loved it. I'm always on the lookout for the next Shannon Guymon book.

I'm finally caught up with this series and I absolutely adore all of the characters! I feel like they are dear friends and when they rally around a newcomer, Maya, I felt myself rally around her too. Maya escaped an abusive boyfriend and is seeking the safety that she craves. She even goes as far as getting a new roommate--a grumpy, good looking one named Tristan.

Tristan has seen his fair share of heartache and isn't looking for love at all, but he will do whatever it takes to protect a woman--just as the other men in this town will do. I really, really liked Tristan. Who hasn't hidden behind something to protect their heart? The way this friendship evolves and causes these two to realize that you can't take things at face value is so sweet. I seriously LOVE these people! I love the way explanations cause the meanest or saddest or most violent person to reconsider things and to see a new perspective.

I'm a traditional kind of girl and wasn't sure how an angle could work with a guy and a girl living together, but things really played out in an appropriate way and I enjoyed it a lot. These stories bring smiles to my face, help me to laugh, cause me to shed tears, and engaged me completely from cover to cover. I'm crossing my fingers that we're not done with Fircrest and these fine people yet!

The romance...oh, my! Almost everyone has someone and it's just the most romantic place on earth. I loved it!

Content: clean romance (kissing; guy and girl living together, but not romantically); mild-moderate violence (fighting, talk of abuse, torture); no language; very mild religious elements (mentioned twice that they prayed with no detail of prayers). Clean!

*I received a copy and this review is 100% my own opinion--I was in no way compensated for it*

I knew that if I started this book I wouldn't be able to put it down but I started it around 9pm last night anyway. I read till 2am and then finished it this morning. The town of Fircrest is awesome. The more you read the more you really fall in love with them all. I love how Shannon is able to pull all their stories together how they have formed a bond and really watch out for each other. I loved the theme I got from this book that there is good in people and you can persevere even after hard times. My favorite line from the book is " It’s hard to find someone who’s all good or all bad. Life is a collage of gray areas and it takes compassion and empathy to see that.” Maya and Tristan were both coming from a rough relationship and didn't have trust but without even trying found they had a bond and friendship they couldn't ignore. There story is a great one and I loved how the whole town pulled together to help them. Shannon has a great gift for story telling and I can't wait for more from Fircrest!

Another sweet story set in the town of Fircrest. There have been so many of these stories by now that sometimes it seems like the author is trying to fit as many previous characters in as possible and it feels like the whole town is comprised of young adults (or young married couples at this point!). My biggest complaint is that the relationships all develop so quickly, but that is true in a lot of stories of this genre. But I enjoy the "fluff" and a quick, fun read.

As much as I love Fircrest, I'm ready for a change after the last book in the series. This was a great conclusion to the trilogy, though, and probably my favorite of the trilogy. I loved the main characters and could not think of a better way to end Tristan's story. Such a cute ending!

Enjoyable

Enjoyed reading the book, wrapped up a little too quickly but a nice enjoyable read. A love story not a sex story.
