I understood the idea and was encouraged but there was so much missing, consistency errors, grammatical issues, and a lack of detail in certain places that I wasn't convinced about the story as it was told.

Nina is the daughter of a man who is important in a crime conglomerate? Whatever the case may be, women in the life expect arranged marriages to solidify power and Nina is no different. However, her father promises her to a man she absolutely loathes, Wayne. Despite her feelings though, Nina is at the church on her wedding day about to go through with it but her best friend shows up and gets her out. Nina takes the car offered and gets lost, all the way from Indiana to a Colorado retreat where she meets Gage. Nina and her parents have a terrible relationship and she's constantly popping off at them for something. Her actions don't really align with someone who was supposedly raised in a household where women knew their place was to please their man.

In any case, Gage is a bear shifter and runs the retreat with his brother Zane. They're close and don't play about one another. Gage has a lady, Janine, who he sexes. Janine wants more from Gage and after he tells her not to come around anymore, she shows stalkerish tendencies and an inability to get that Gage is not interested in more with her even knowing Janine's feelings for him. When Nina is caught in a rain storm, Gage rescues her and realizes that she's his mate. From there, Gage and Nina get closer before she discloses that she's running. Gage swears to protect her from Wayne and they build something together while Gage keeps his promise. For his part, Wayne can't let Nina go, tracking her down over several months with his crew. First for the woman he can't let go and then for his ego. Eventually, it gets Wayne killed along with everyone else who comes looking for Nina. Nina gets pregnant and is getting spoiled, all while living with a man who loves her.

I wasn't convinced with how the story went and the emotional depth is missing. The characters are believable but there are missing pieces and dropped plots mid-story that aren't reconciled.

Found Family

I enjoyed the story and read it in one sitting! I honestly can’t even say which character I liked best because everybody showed up for Nina when the people who were suppose to didn’t. From the supportive ride or die best friend, sweet Ma Josie, the caring and protective brother, to Gage and his protectiveness… they were all exactly what she needed. The found family was everything. They made sure Nina was good in every way possible, and when I say they handled everything, I mean everything! I loved seeing that kind of love and support throughout the story.

Okay so this is a great storyline I am so excited okay where is book 2 what book comes next after this I mean this is a really really good book so I mean I don't know how you getting away with just killing everybody but I just throwing them so deep down nobody can find them but I need book too I need to know what's going on with Rosie

This one moved a little bit too slow for me. The runaway bride plot had great bones, but the story was missing depth. I love the cover and would still read something else from this author because maybe this story just wasn’t for me. 💖

Worth the read

I enjoyed the characters, the flow of the book and that it was an easy read. I love that Arielle came through and how tight Gage & Zane are. Can't wait for Zane & Rosey's story
