This was such a unique and awesome book. I loved how original this was. The whole meeting in their dream was so awesome! I absolutely ate that up. I truly fell in love with this one because of it’s originality. It brought something special. Not sure if that’s the right word. But I was so invested in this. The attraction, the moments they had, along with the danger and the MMC’s protectiveness. This was the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be my last.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a solid romantic suspense with a really unique twist. The story follows Darius Rogers, an undercover agent posing as a bodyguard named Bo Thatcher to take down a crime boss. Things get complicated when he is sent to New York to bring back the boss's estranged daughter, Kate Blackwood, who escaped her family's criminal empire ten years ago. When a real threat closes in, Kate is forced to trust him and go on the run, leading to a great forced-proximity setup.

I liked the dynamic between Darius and Kate, especially with the magical realism elements mixed into the plot. The dream-walking trope was done well, with Kate having these intense dreams about him that slowly uncover his secrets and truths about her own past. Darius is an excellent protective hero who is trying to keep his cover intact while falling for the exact woman he is supposed to be using for his mission. The chemistry between them is strong and creates a good slow burn while they are navigating the danger. The pacing has a few slower parts in the middle while they are traveling and hiding out, but the suspense builds well as the enemies close in. If you want a fun contemporary romance with a unique supernatural twist and a protective hero, I'd suggest checking this one out.

This series is so unique blending magical realism and romantic suspense. The magical element is being a dream walker. In their dreams Kate and Darius aka “Bo” meet and fall for each other. In real life he’s an undercover cop and she’s the mob boss’s daughter. He’s sent to retrieve her. There’s tension and incredible chemistry. The blending of all the elements is so well done just like it has been so far in this series overall this one fully pulled me in I’ll give it 4.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. Darius’s backstory was one of my favorite parts, especially learning about his time in the service and seeing how he brought members of his former unit to his ranch to help give them a place to land and build a life after everything they’d been through. That added so much heart to his character.

And Darius and Kate’s love story? Beautiful. ❤️ Their relationship felt like such a strong emotional center for the book.

I also really love the Dreamwalkers’ abilities and the way they use those gifts for good and to help other people. It makes the series feel unique and gives the story something extra beyond the romance.

This was such a great second book in the series, and I’m definitely hoping Addison gets a story of her own soon because I need to know more about her. 👀

Book 3 in the Dream walker series

Guys if you take away anything from this review its the fact you need to read this series, The storyline is so well thought out, the characters are fantastically well written and the way this is so hugely immersive, its like watching a high budget movie as you read!

Kate Blackwood (The forest Nymph-lol) is small in stature but huge in personality and it’s no wonder Darius (Bo) is instantly obsessed after being sent by his mob boss to retrieve his daughter.

I cannot write more about all that i love about this book without giving too much of the story away and i cant do that as i need you all to read and fangirl over it with me!

Protected Dream is a romantic suspense with a magical realism twist. It follows Kate and Darius as danger, secrets and dreamwalking pull them into each other’s lives. I gave Protected Dream 3.5 stars.

The writing wasn’t the absolute best in the world, and I’ll admit that everything happening in literally 48 hours was a bit of a turnoff for me. I usually need a little more time to fully believe the emotional build-up, so the very compressed timeline made some parts feel rushed.

That being said, I really liked the dreamwalker idea. It’s such a cool concept, and honestly, I would have loved to see even more of it. More dreams, more flashbacks, more experimenting with what that ability could mean emotionally and magically. There was so much potential there, and I kept wishing the story would lean into it even harder.

The whole dreamwalker concept was probably my favorite part. Kate and Darius/Bo have such an interesting dynamic, and I loved the mix of danger, forced proximity, tension, and chemistry throughout the story.

The plot kept me invested, especially with the undercover/bodyguard element and the danger surrounding Kate. And honestly…the way the magical elements are woven into the suspense made this feel so different from your typical romance. A unique concept, an immersive storyline, and a romance with plenty of danger and tension. Definitely a series I’d recommend starting from book one because there’s clearly a bigger story unfolding.

As someone who totally believes in dream walking, Protected Dream resonated with me on such a deep level! J.M. Stockford does an incredible job weaving the magical realism of dreams as a shared meeting point into a gripping, fast-paced plot.

The blend of romantic suspense and supernatural elements is handled so well—the tension keeps you on the edge of your seat, while the connection between the characters feels intimate and authentic. Watching their relationship unfold across both the physical world and the dreamscape added a unique layer of intrigue that I couldn't get enough of. I loved every single part of this book and couldn't put it down!

Protected Dream is the 2nd book in the "DreamWalker" series and follows Darius (Bo), who you meet in Tortured Dream, and Kate. Dauris is undercover to try and take down a Mafia boss when he gets sent to find and protect Kate, who is the bosses daughter. And obviously things don't go as planned.
You don't need to read the books in this series in order but obviously I would love both of them so far and would recommend doing so. And if you like dark thrillers/dark romance-ish books you should read Diary Of A Monster, which is the villain's story in Tortured Dream. That was an amazing book as well.

I have been looking so forward to reading Dauris's story since I met him in Tortured Dream. I absolutely loved him in that book, but I love him even more now, which I didn't think was possible. He is hot, protective but won't put her in a protective bubble. He is like the perfect boyfriend.
And Kate is amazing. She's feisty, smart, strong and willing to stand up for those she loves no matter what.
The Dreamwalker aspect is so unique because I don't think I've really seen it anywhere else but it has such a unique spin on the gift and how it's portrayed. And let's just say in this one the dreamwalkinh gets a little frecky. You'll know what I mean once you read the book.
I will 100% be reading anything this author writes. I think with each book she keeps getting better and better and I'm so excited to see what comes next.

This was quite an interesting story. One that I have not really read before. The storyline is unique. The characters and their stories are well written and engaging. I do like the fact that this is considered a standalone and you do not have to read the other books to know what exactly is going on.

I also really enjoyed Darius' growth with people touching him. I found the story very unique with the dream aspect and the shoot out brought the action!
