3.75 stars.

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD (however if you know JS this is more her MO)

Now this book is not for everyone as it has some very questionable behaviour on the part of the hero.
There is one scene in particular that would have really bothered me, but after reading her more recent work, this was a very tame book.
The story is quite simple really the hero Grant is an experienced man with an established ranch that boarders the heroine Camille.
They have known each other for years and she has loved him for years.
The hero, on the other hand was attracted but he was not going to touch the jailbait.
However, it was okay for him to F*ck her classmate and enemy.
This made this book loss a star.
This was nonsense.
If the other woman had been an older woman I would have said yeah that's believable.
But no way a guys says she is jailbait and then goes for the a girl the same age.

ON WHAT PLANET DOES THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE?

Okay so after the heroine finds her fiancé in bed with another woman. The hero brings her home and makes his move.
Now loads more happen in this story but honestly I think I have said enough already.

Worth a read but not a reread.

Partially recommend to those who like Jordan Silver books and those who like a cowboy story with some spicy and sassy.

Safety: He was a manwhore and she is a virgin (which made no sense as she was engaged). Their is OW drama and mild OM (which was all in his head). Condoms her used them in the past with all his other f*cks (his words not mine).

Content alert: elements of dubious consent with the hero, spanking, asphyxiation and sex toys.

I'm a big fan of Jordan Silver. I've read almost all of her books.

It's about Grant, 32 and Cami, 23.

Cami was getting married but her fiancé was caught having sex with another woman two days before the wedding. She's not in love with him. It's more of an arranged marriage because she found out that the man she truly loves was getting married too.

She's a spoilt little brat. She gets what she wants except for Grant. She wanted him for years but because she's young and he's friends with her father, Grant fought his feelings for her. I just didn't understand why he's with a woman the same age as her but he won't with Cami.

They danced around each other for more than half of the book. But no worries, they had their HEA. Plus an epilogue.

I love her books but for me, Grant was not her typical hero. Maybe because I'm used to her OTT alpha males. I love her OTT alpha males. They're very possessive and protective with their women. I also love breeding books, epilogues, marriage and babies and she always have those things in her books. Even her other books without epilogue, they're still a HEA with marriage and babies.

Just did not like Grant. He was an indecisive jerk. For years she was too young, but he was f'ing her classmates! Then he decides to take her and then disappears for a couple of days. He does this a couple of times. And everything is her fault, and he punishes her for having normal feelings. He just did not work for me. At all.

Safe from cheating. There is OW drama.

A headstrong hell raising small town princess, a cowboy neighbor she has had a crush on since she was 16, the more the attraction she feels the mouthier she gets. No wonder he feels its better to stay away from the spoilt hellion even when he secretly returns the feelings (or maybe not – you see a ping pong ball has nothing on his indecisiveness!)

Fast forward few years, she learns he’s getting married to an old frenemy who knows all her secrets (read crush on the H) and to save her pride she thinks of beating him to the altar with her spineless bf/bff.
The story opens when she finds her fiancé has cheated on her with the ‘skank’ librarian, who every one thinks is very sweet but the h has a dossier *eyeroll* on that suggests a shady past!

All good and grand! I liked the framework of the plot and settled for a good hour or so of entertainment but nada, no such luck! The author forgot all about building on this promising framework or the secondary plotlines and just churned out sex- lotsa sex, lotsa cringe-worthy I-dint-want-to-read/know-about sex.
The H was a limp wimp but in bed, where he thinks mating (forceful and painful for her!), branding, marking and breeding proves him man and master. Oh lets not forget the h agrees too!

His charm goes beyond the bed though.
When the ow lands up just as the h leaves… ’At least she hadn’t shown up when the other one was here, that’s all the fucking headache I need.’
The ‘other one’?? Really? How romantic, Mr. Pos!

There was nothing honest about taking one woman to my bed while my heart was so completely involved with another.
Again really?? That’s even an option?

Some weird cray cray (read boring) stunts by the evil frenemy/ow rounds up this half-baked tale and the spoilt princess gets the manhoeing wimp and rules the town again. Yay!

*****Re-read for 2nd time*****
Last read on 2/9/2015.

I think I upped my original 3 stars to 4 stars. I did enjoy this book, though there were some errors that did bother me like Ms. Silver's misuse of 'worst' when it should be 'worse' and some other errors.

I liked the interaction between Grant and Cami and how she was a brat with him and he was a bit high-handed with her. Typical Jordan Silver alpha male, but this time he's been fighting his attraction to her for years until it was almost too late for him.

I had a hard time warming up to this one. The lead is pretty spoiled.

I'm extremely surprised at all the good reviews this book got. I managed to finish this book, but it was really out of curiosity as to how bad it could get. If you want to roll your eyes, then this could be the book for you.
The main heroine  is supposed to be a college graduate
,but the way she is written she could easily be only 13 or 14 years old. She's spoil, whiny and immature in her dialogue and continuous thoughts which is repetitious. The hero is indecisive, uninteresting and undeveloped. He made a reputation of banging all of her friends and unsure he wanted her after they had sex!! OMG I'm so disappointed with this book. I absolutely LOVED this writer work. So when I saw this book I stopped everything to read it. I was THRILLED. On that note. What an utter disappointment.  I wish the author had kept her original writing style. I had several thoughts that maybe, just maybe I was reading the wrong book. This book was BORING, and not even close to being good as the author previous books, IMO. If this book is not free, please pass over!!!

Camille Sutherland is a true Southern bell & a Daddy's girl. Her family owns most of their town & her Grandfather is the local Judge. She just found out her fiancé is cheating on her with the town's librarian. Grant Colfax has wanted Cami since she turned 18 but has kept away from her because he's friends with her Father. Grant gets a call from Cami's Dad asking for his help because Cami has a gun & she's on her way to the librarian's house.

I loved the heroine--she knows her own mind, and seems pretty smart, but she has a temper and can go off half-cocked. Her hero seems like the man to keep her under control, he's all Alpha, and about 9 years older than her, so he knows how to lay down the law. Lots of great dialogue, sexy or funny, great sexy-scenes and fun secondary characters (like her grandpa). At the start, they have known each other for years, and both been very attracted to each other, but he didn't want to be a perv when she was young, so he never said anything. She's been back from college for a year, but neither has made a move, yet.
The main conflict in the story is just high school mean girl type stuff, but it gives them a chance to get together.
Please don't read this if you get upset by typos or missed words. There are a few more than normal. They don't bother me, because I love Jordan Silver's writing, her characters are so fun. So don't leave a bad review about editing--you've been warned--just don't read it if that stuff upsets you. It will be your loss to miss such a fun, sexy book.

Very abusive Hero

This book really went beyond the alpha hero to an abusive jerk. He was all the bad things I warned my daughter's about. Book would have been much better without his physical and mental abuse of the heroine.

Grant is NOT nearly the Crazy Badass I'd wanted him to be...Jordan Silver going mellow?? Nor was Camille, not if she's really the "Texas Hellion" :/

I was really looking forward to reading this story, but it felt a bit stifled, and most of the times even repetitive. I felt as if thoughts and feelings we had already read about had been repeated only to make the story longer... and when I thought the story was really about to evolve and move, there was the intermission of something already mentioned. it got so bad (and boring) that 30% in I just had to come back to the reviews to check if I had read all the good reviews this book got correctly.
Honestly, I can barely manage to finish this book, at this point it's more curiosity than actual interest in the characters and their story.
The h is 23 but behaves like a 16 yo (and I'm being kind). The H is ... bad. (dud you can't say she is too young for you, yet not have the same consideration for her literal classmates. )
Also, I'm supposed to believe they love each other... I barely believe they like each other. If someone was thinking those things about me, I would RUN.

This book was not what I expected from this author.

(BTW I stopped half way)

Too short. Thought this was supposed to be a novel. Too many grammar and punctuation errors and weird phrases. "Bleeding like stink." Really? What the heck kind of phrase is that? Was he just trying not to swear? Very odd. The story seemed like it was going somewhere but I couldn't get past the unrealistic dialogue and multitude of errors to find out. :/ Seems like this author is pretty good, has potential, but needs some work on dialogue and a better editor!

I didn't like the story but I didn't hate it. The dude the male lead wanted the female lead but did not take her because she was jailbait. But he still fucked her classmate. Granted the classmate was a hoe and her enemy. But still he fucked a girl her age. And all the while she remained a virgin. Wtf.

Best JS book yet

This was one of the best Jordan Silver books that I’ve read. The editing on this one wasn’t bad at all and the story was good . The one liners were hilarious. These people are from Texas and they talked like you would imagine country bumpkins would. It had me cracking up . I wish the ending wasn’t so abrupt . I wanted more Grant and Camille.

Sassy girl and caveman

Sassy girl and a cavman, what's the worse that can happen? I'll tell you what....pulling hair, fight (multiple times) and I'm just talking about the women. I love sassy, take no BS, gun fired by a impulse and unpredictable girl. Poor hero he does not know what he is getting.

Cami had me laughing at her antics when she decides she is going to take out her fiancé who is caught in a compromising position. Grant is called in by her father to calm her down, but sparks fly between these two. This is a great story with dynamic characters that I enjoyed reading about. I sympathized with Grant because he had to be the calm one when it came to Cami!

another great Jordan silver

I really enjoyed this story from Jordan Silver. I understood the point of letting Joel and the librarian go, but there was mention of her being a grifter, and so I would’ve liked some closure there. They ceased being important. As did her friend from the beginning. I really liked her family. It was a great one with a feisty FMC and an alpha MMC.

Hilariously Funny/Sexy

This is one of the most sensual, but funny books I have read. Jordan Silver writes sexy scenes that will get you hot, and throws in some funny in the rest of the story. I am reading all her books. And looking forward to more.

Loved this

A strong FMC. A Alpha MMC. OW drama. Definite spicy moments and lots of heat. This checks the boxes. The chemistry between the leads are off the charts. I loved their inner monologues. I loved their story. Super quick read. I love everything I've read from this author.

Not bad

Jordan Silver delivers the heat, but this story had me wondering who was the craziest person in the book. I'm still not sure if it was Grant or Camille.
