Demons was the third (and last) Witchblade prose novel that was based on the television series that was based on the Top Cow comics character. The first two had covers that were photographs of Yancy Butler as Sara Pezzini, but this one has a Michael Turner painting. Baron wrote a lot of good comics scripts for various titles over the years, but did pretty well here with the novel format. It's more of a detective story than a superhero adventure, and does a good job of portraying Sara in that light.

This was more a detective story than a superhero adventure, but I think it worked better that way. At this point Sara has already had the witchblade a while when a cursed samurai sword leads to brutal murders in New York City. A good mix of detective story and action.

This is largely a straightforward, by-the-number detective novel, without any real supernatural elements until the last couple of chapters. That's not to say it's bad, it just wasn't the action-heavy superhero story I was expecting after having read quite a few Witchblade issues.
