These Hollow Bones was an insanely fun book to write. I had the best time coming up with the ideas, drafting, editing, building the maps—all of it. I hope that passion and enthusiasm is on the pages as you read, too.
I hope you’re sucked in. I hope I’ve given you a terrible book hangover. I hope you dream about these characters and these worlds.
Thank you all for reading and reviewing. And even more than that, thank you for your support.
With the launch of These Hollow Bones, I am a debut author no more.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I absolutely loved it! ❤️
This book took off from the very beginning and never slowed down. The pacing was fantastic, and there was never a dull moment. I love Bones of Another and These Hollow Bones! I cannot wait to read book 3 when it is finished!
Thank you to the author for gifting me with an advanced copy read!
Please bear with me as I try to untangle my thoughts because I am still reeling after having just finished this book.
We begin right where we left off, with Prince Zarek and his Razani coming to Tir Avalorn. But before we get to that moment, we get multiple POVs and the backstories that led up to it.
We get to understand Theo. Where he's been for the last five years. How he received his seat on the Councilliary. And how he realizes that what has kept him afloat all these years was the tether between him and Corinna. It wasn't that he was still in love with her, but rather the idea of her and what they once had. It took seeing her with the Prince to wake him up and realize that's not who they are to each other anymore.
And then there is Dahlia.
We see the woman beneath the Razani. The girl who just wants to prove her worth to her friend. Her family. Her prince. The girl who just wants her best friend, Mia, back.
And when she is hit with the brutal truth that her Mia stopped being Mia two years ago...
Yeah. That broke something in me.
But the real kicker was Corinna and Zev.
He was so overcome with desperation to know whether or not she survived that he crossed realms for her.
REALMS.
Just to know she was alive.
If that's not love, then I don't want it.
While everyone is dealing with their emotional entanglements, they still have a war brewing. Tir Avalorn is at war with the Hollow King. The peninsula is on the verge of a civil war. And now there's a threat from A THIRD REALM.
Because apparently we weren't dealing with enough already. 😭
Amala did such a fantastic job with these characters. She has you connecting with each and every one of them. And the found family was absolutely phenomenal!
It's so hard not to get wrapped up in this story and feel like you're living right alongside these characters. It's almost like we're the echoforms ourselves.
And I can say without a doubt that I will be impatiently waiting for book three after THAT ending.
I demand penance for the tears I shed.

So I did receive a ARC of this gem and read it on my tablet. This is the sequel I knew I NEEDED! I don’t want to spoil anything but yes this book is just pulled me into a realm, and magical place. I suffer from chronic pain, and I read this baby and kept reading. My favorite character I will have to say is “Morgan” love his snarky ness and I need him to serve me some biscuits. He totally transported me into Luke’s coffee shop, from Gilmore Girls. But let me tell you I am soo ready for book 3. Not sure what I am going to read until 3 comes out! Please note you have to read the 1st book first bones of another.
Chefs kiss, with the characters The world just I wish was so real to touch and visit. The cafe just teleported me soo much back to similar times like the 90s. Thank you for this gem! TikTok has brought me so many beautiful people and authors. This one is top tier a breath of fresh air! This is not your love roman-sty but a beautiful master piece of world shifting!

Ya’ll… she did it again 😭 I was given an ARC of this and screamed the whole time. These Hollow Bones was the perfect sequel to The Bones of Another. The beginning recap of The Bones of Another was literally perfect and I hope she does it again for book 3 🤣 I’m going to try to keep this spoiler free! The slowwwwwwwww burn. Is so slow. It’s a snails pace. I love it. This is not simply another romantasy series, the world building is SO intricate and has you on the edge of your seat just as much as the will they or won’t they between Zarek and Corrina. Watching the Razani adapt to life in this other world is one of my favorite parts. The echoforms are like the Spider-Man meme 🤣. Ugh. A thousand stars.
EASY 5 star read 🤩 I was lucky enough to get to ARC read for this book and help Amala with creating the maps for the book, and I couldn’t put this book down! The banter, the yearning, the world building… all incredible! A perfect sequel to book 1, and this universe has quickly become a Roman Empire series for me, already counting down the days to book 3, and simultaneously not ready for it to be over 😭 Truly a masterpiece created by a mastermind 🤯
This series has me teleporting to another realm along with the characters. I read this book in 3 days and I honestly would have read it in 1 if I didn't need to sleep or go to work.
The author had me laughing one second and then crying the next (seriously so much crying). And honestly, I'm usually a harsh critic for cheesy or sappy love stories but that's not the case with this one. Yes, the feelings between the FMC and the MMC are a central part of the story but it makes sense with the plot and it's written so well that it leaves me wanting more. I also appreciate all the other characters. No one is one dimensional, even if they are a nobody background character or present for only one moment. Like we get little snippets of their life but we don't need a deep dive of every single character. I don't know why I love that but I do. I also appreciated getting to see Corrina's rat pack in their element. She was more than just an operative which apparently I needed that reminder. And then Mia... 😬😲That's all I'll say on her.
Narayan knows how to write a cliff hanger and it feels a bit personal, honestly. Bummed I might have to wait until December until book 3. But I'll happily wait until February if that's what it takes. I need to see these guys through. They can't do it without me obvi ✌🏼
Thank you Narayan. Please go easy on me in the next one though.
** I was given an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review of this book 📕
The insane ride of emotions I felt through this book can not be explained. One minute I’m cackling over the hilarious banter, then I’m swooning over the slow burn that’s simmering, and then In a pure panic over the absolute chaos and action happening to all the characters. I have no clue how Amala slept, I can tell this masterpiece kept her awake 24/7 because this book was absolute perfection. This is coming from somebody who does not read fantasy!!! I mean she’s truly made me a fan and I am so happy she has promised to keep her trilogy date close together so we don’t have to wait too long. There is one quote that I seen twice through the book that left me with a crying face, I will let you figure out what one that is 😩😭💕 Amala really has a way with creating a plot that you wouldn’t expect and making it very magical and easy to follow. She has the best refreshers in the beginning of the book to help sum up book one as well as how to say the characters names! I 100000% recommend this book to anyone looking for a fresh fantasy take and enjoyed the first in her soon to be trilogy.
IF I COULD GIVE THIS BOOK 10 STARS I WOULD!!!! 2026 MUST READ - MUST READ!!!!!!!!!
It has been a LONG time since I have thought about a book as much as I have this one. First, I LOVED the first book. I gave it five stars, and I talked about it to everyone I know. THIS BOOK on the other hand blew the first book OUT OF THE WATER (yes, I am actually yelling).
From page 1 this book had me by the throat, I felt like my heart was going to bust out of my chest from joy, fear, excitement, anticipation, anxiety, heartbreak, and a little bit of lust. I have never had a book put me through this big of an emotional roller coaster EVER. My boss and I spent the better part of a week reading and talking to each other about theories that we thought might happen and even more we hope will happen. I cannot WAIT for the third book. Until then this book will live rent free in my head. My only regret is that I could not share this reading experience with more people at the same time.
Trust and believe EVERYONE I know is going to read this book because I NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT!
These Hollow Bones took everything I loved about the first book and expanded the world in a completely unexpected way. Instead of immediately picking up from the cliffhanger, we get to see everything that was happening on both sides leading up to that moment, which made the payoff so much more interesting once everything finally came together. This one definitely leans more heavily into action than The Bones of Another, while my favorite parts were still the character relationships, banter, and emotional moments. And when those moments hit, they hit—I laughed, I got frustrated, I theorized, and at one point I was straight-up bawling. By the end, these characters had gotten so far into my head that I was thinking about their choices when I wasn't even reading. And that ending? I have theories. I am not confident in any of them. Thank you so much to Amala Narayan for the opportunity to ARC read These Hollow Bones and be part of this story before it reaches the world.
This was nearly a 5-star read for me! If Goodreads offered .5 stars I would said a solid 4.5 ⭐ easy. The switching back and forth between realms during the first 50% was a little hard to follow at times, which took me out of the story a bit. That said, the side character development was SO well done, and I loved watching those characters become more fleshed out. I just would have loved a little more romance and development between the FMC and MMC!
*Spoiler* If you haven't read book 1, avert your eyes!!
The introduction of a third realm was done incredibly well and opened up SO many questions, possibilities, and theories going into book 3. 👀 I have so many questions and absolutely cannot wait to see where this story goes next!
ARC read gifted by the author herself. Thank you for the opportunity to read this one! ❤️
I was lucky enough to be chosen to get this book as an ARC. You may think this means I won’t give an honest review, but what it means is the first book was SO GOOD I couldn’t wait for the second and the second book did not disappoint! The second book gives us deeper development of some of the characters we didn’t get to really know in book one and additional world development (plus the map that others were missing lol). The author continues with the fast paced action and the witty banter that I enjoy. Overall I find her books to be page turners, You know the kind you get up early and stay up late just to finish!
OKAYYYY! I was lucky enough to get this one as an ARC, and I feel like I just read a trilogy in one book somehow - SO much good plot going on here and so many questions answered / wrapped up BUT also so many new things I’m wondering about/already processing and making guesses about in my mind for the third book. Loved that everyone met and became a little pack in this one, from both realms. There were so many different emotions in this one, especially from around 70% on..whew.
PS: Amala..chapter 58/59 reveal - I KNEWWWW it! Hahaha. One of my theories from our book club meeting was correct(ish).
PPS: Check out that acknowledgement section, folks. Never have I felt more honored!🫶🏼
I was able to read this book as an ARC and as always, Amala freaken kills it. I just absolutely love this series, these characters and this story. I am invested, heavily invested. 6 stars if I could rate it that high. If you haven't started this series, you need to.
When I read the first book I instantly thought - wow, what an interesting concept for a book, I've never read anything like it. The second book delved even deeper into the story and hooked me from the first page.
The found family, the magic, the insanely creative story line, I loved it all.
I will read anything Amala writes from here on out. Bring on the third book! I NEED IT NOW
I read the advanced copy and Wow wow wow!!! Another incredible book in the Bones of Another series. I loved it so so much. The characters are so likeable I want to be friends with them all. I was stuck between can’t put this down but also don’t want this to end! The writing is so well done, it’s a perfect balance of endearing and sarcasm. And the YEARN… gosh I just want to live in this universe. Cannot wait for book 3!
I was on edge waiting for this book to come out and it did not disappoint!! 😍
This book keeps you on edge just like the first one, the suspense is REAL!! If you love delving into an epic story that’s easy to read this one is for you! Multiple realms, found family & so much suspense waiting to see what happens with the Razani! Take my word for it and give these books a chance!
Okay, i have thoughts. Look, i love slow burn, i do, but damn. This was slooowwwww burn and we are still at slow burn status to some extent lol. Some things I definitely did not see coming, and I can’t wait to get into the third book once it’s ready.

The slow slowwww burn in this book is chefs kiss. The witty and playful banter between the rat pack and the Razini, I absolutely love it. The magic system? Very different than what I’m used to reading. Honestly, I am still trying to fully understand it. Corrina and Zarek? All the feels for them!!!😭😭 This book was a five star read for me ⭐️🌟✨.
I just finished These Hollow Bones and I am absolutely dying for the 3rd book to be released. I loved this book just as much as the 1st book. Watching Corrina and Zarek’s friends become friends was everything! I can’t shut up about this series and tell everyone I know to read it.
Thank you so so much to Amala Narayan for the ARC!
Okay!! Wow! I was privileged to become part of the Arc team and this book will have your emotions all over the place and have you in the edge of your seat. Zarek and Corrina are everything you want a slow burn to be!!! And can we talk about Theo and Dahlia?!! Awww I need book 3 right now. This cliffhanger is a banger!! Loving this series!
The beginning took time for me to adjust but once I got the feel I was hooked. I love the characters and the little quirks in the story. Exactly my style. I can’t wait for the third and more of Zarek!
Book 2 of this trilogy really dragged in the beginning whereas book 1 was fire from page 1. It finally got up to speed and then, thank goddess, did not disappoint. I will eagerly await book 3 and plan to follow this author. I predict great works from her. Go read book 1!!!
Amazing! A wonderful continuation of the first book. More world building and character development, and a story that keeps you turning the page again and again. The only downside is having to wait for the next book to be written. If you loved the first installment... Why are you reading reviews instead of the book itself?!? Get it Now!! (ARC recipient).
