Breaking The Chains!!! A few days back, I got an email through the mailing list of Ioana Visan, telling me, that the book was for free on amazon. So of course I had to go and get it, cause the cover was really intriguing.

Then I read the summary of the book. Guardian angel and Lucifer were the things that immediately caught my eyes. And now here we are. I read it today, it's a very short read with only 19 pages. But even tho it's that short, I still got really interested in the characters. And I also really like the whole concept of the story. So I really can't wait to read more of it.

I can't remember how I found this novella or why I bought it... Well, the last part is a lie, I liked the cover. But all I know is that I really enjoyed what I read.

Lucifer and his pet mortal have been living together for years. They're stuck together because he needs her to sign over her soul... which is tough luck because she doesn't believe in souls.

And now they have a dilemma on their hands. A businessman has figured out how to rent out his guardian angel to people in need - not something that benefits Lu's line of work.

I found the concept really original, and despite being only 19 pages long, this story really whetted my appetite. Unfortunately part #2 isn't out yet, but I'm going to keep looking. I'd love to know more about this curious little arrangement.

I received an email a while ago from Ioana Visan's mailing list I'm subscribed to telling me about this book being free on Amazon. (The offer's not available anymore, unfortunately.)

Warning: This book may be offensive to religious people or people sensitive about religious topics.

This book holds quite a bit of humour. As it's only the first part to a series, and an extremely short story, there's not much to go on. What I understood from this story was that Lucifer -'Lu'- one day appeared in the main character's place and refused to leave.

Lu and Ms. V go out to see about a man who's lending out a guardian angel and stop him before he does something they can't come back from. In the book, Ms. V says that Lu wants her soul but how can she give him something she doesn't believe in. Faith is an extraordinary thing, I believe.

I enjoyed this book a lot and might see about continuing the series. I admit, I was confused at many points but I was still able to understand what was happening. I look forward to reading more of this author's work.

I liked the concept of renting angels. The dormant angel reminded me a little of Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned Vampire who was awakened from a long sleep. I would like to know what Luc is up to.
