Paco Slays a Dragon was exactly the kind of sequel I wanted—it takes the fun, weirdness, and sheer chaos of the first book and cranks everything up. I went into this expecting another entertaining adventure, but I found myself getting genuinely invested in Chris and Paco’s journey. The world feels bigger, the danger feels more real, and every time I thought things couldn’t get any crazier, the story somehow found a way to prove me wrong. And honestly, Paco continues to be one of those characters who can completely steal a scene without even trying.

What really hooked me personally was the balance between the ridiculous and the genuinely heartfelt. There’s plenty of humor, progression, monsters, dragons, and absolute insanity, but underneath all of that is a friendship and a sense of wanting to find your place in a world that you never expected to be part of. That gave the story more weight for me than I was expecting. I could laugh at one scene and then actually care about what happened to these characters a few pages later, which is always a great combination.

By the time I finished, I was left with that feeling I want from a good LitRPG adventure: I had a damn good time and I want more. Paco Slays a Dragon feels bigger and more ambitious while still keeping the personality that made the series enjoyable in the first place. It’s funny, adventurous, unpredictable, and ridiculously easy to fly through. Paco remains an absolute legend, and I’m completely on board for wherever this group ends up next. 5 ⭐️/5 ⭐️ 🐉🔥

3.5/5 - The 2nd instalment in the Paco series definitely is the best one. I was given this book to read by Nicholas in out LitRPG TikTok group to Arc read not knowing that this was the second. So I read both the first and second book back to back and I’m really happy that I didn’t have a break in between. Nicholas’s writing has improved tremendously.

I was a huge fan of the emotional unraveling that takes place in this book. Very few times do we get “undoable” choice in this genre and it felt like this book was full of once done can’t take back options. You can really feel the emotions that lingered through the book. The book has great portrayal of Paco unraveling emotionally and physically throughout the book. The toll that the death and destruction is having on him with every action.

I loved the boss battles and more specifically, Lenny’s games that he had them play. The bosses were very gross and powerful. Nothing was held back especially in the final faceoff.

I will say that the score reflects a lot of the fighting and characters. One of those characters being the Hat man. The hat man was a BLAST to read about and watch how he interacted with the group. I Can’t say much but, he was great.

One thing I still would like to see more of is a bit more explaining of the LitRPG mechanics and have it correlates to the fights. There were times where the characters increased by so many levels but the total points didn’t add up to that. Just something I would like to see.

Paco Slays a Dragon was a fantastic and entertaining read! Paco and Chris are stranded on a distant planet after crash landing during a battle with the Orcs. It’s one crazy adventure/battle after another as they try and find a way to get their ship fixed and get back to earth. Oh did I mention that Paco becomes a king! They meet some friends along the way and find a whole bunch of trouble as usual. Dealing with loss of friends and constant battles is wearing on both Paco and Chris but they manage to turn that grief into anger to fuel them in a climactic final battle! Overall this was a great read and I am looking forward to book 3!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 1 was awesome... Paco Slays a Dragon absolutely RIPS!!! This book does an amazing job showing that a great litrpg book doesnt need to be 700+ pages. It packs a ton of story into its pages. Like the title states, this book is all killer no filler. It has great references and humor, and it even got me a little emotional for a few scenes which I did not expect at all. The book is very dark, and very creamy. It doesn't require much of the reader other than to enjoy the wild ride. No massive stat dumps, or things that the reader needs to commit to memory. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I cannot wait to see where this series goes!!

Got an ARC copy from the author. The Story of Chris and Paco continues. Poor Paco and Chris can’t seem to get a break. Well I do like to say the remembrance of Chris grandfather got me all misty eyed. Learning that was the main reason he even started feeding the raccoons. Thanks Chuck. Now onto the adventure trying to get repairs for the ship you meet a stone golem, fighting a rune bear and many more events?I like that you get to see how all the death around Paco is effecting him. Can’t wait on the next adventure,

Paco Slays A Dragon was a very enjoyable read that continued the story of Chris and Paco trying to get back home. The pacing of the story was fantastic and I loved the trials of Lenny! I wish there were more LitRPG aspects when it came to leveling and quests but the story itself and the emotional depth that gets explored in this book really knocked It out of the park

I had a super fun time with this book! We get some great character moments in this one, and some really dope battle sequences. I laughed a lot, and this book was surprisingly emotional at times.

If you want a fun LitRPG adventure where you can turn your brain off and have a great time, this is the one! Paco steals the show but I also love Jordon 😂

Such a fun read! I highly recommend this series!

I just discovered the first book not that long ago and was excited to find out that the second book was already almost out. I’ll need to wait a little longer for the third book but it is worth the wait.
