Finding Effie drew me in with its eerie sense of mystery and the feeling that there was something buried beneath the surface waiting to be uncovered. Riley’s bone-deep intuition and haunting déjà vu make her search for Effie feel deeply personal, and I liked how the story gradually pulls her deeper into Oakhaven’s unsettling history.
The dusty archives, tense interviews, and scattered clues create a great atmosphere as Riley follows a trail that seems almost impossible to piece together. What really stood out to me was the way the mystery becomes more than just finding out what happened to Effie—it becomes a question of why Riley was drawn to this place in the first place.
The story kept me curious about what was hiding behind the history of Oakhaven and where Riley’s search would ultimately lead. If you enjoy historical mysteries with an eerie atmosphere, unanswered questions, and a protagonist determined to uncover the truth, Finding Effie is worth picking up.

The mystery surrounding Effie pulled me in right away. Riley’s growing obsession with finding answers made the story feel increasingly tense, especially as the history of Oakhaven started coming to light. There’s a really eerie sense that the past is refusing to stay buried.
