This is the first book I have read by this author and was enjoying it until it ended. If you don't know this by now, well, I'm not a huge fan of serials. In large part because they end so damn quickly, and usually when things are really heating up. I will give the author credit in that she at least got us through the first date.
After passing away suddenly, Rayne's father's final edict was a doozy. In his will, for any of his children to inherit, all three must select a mate from the lists he designated and marry one within a year from his death or they all lose their inheritance. Yep, if even one of them chooses to walk away, then they all lose out. How's that for motivating your kids to get off their butts and settle down?
In this book, we learn the terms of the will and meet the first of Rayne's suitors. I think we know where this is going, but it should be interesting to see how the author engages us until the end of her search. Perhaps it is going to center around how much Rayne needs to learn about herself, and yes, grow up. No one should dictate who someone else should marry, but sometimes, a little nudge here and there may just get you to see something in someone you completely overlooked or open your eyes to all of your insecurities and biases.
I definitely want to see how we proceed, but admit, I'm not going to be happy if I have to read 8 more books to see how Rayne gets to her final choice.
