Rate this book
Dating a werewolf can get a little hairy, literally and metaphorically. Rayne Manchester's suitors learn this pretty quickly. Rayne and her siblings, Rhyme and River, have been through a lot lately, and the loss of their father was only more fuel for the firestorm that is their lives.

Grief offers a subtle salve to the drama that eats up their existence and leaves them spinning like a tornado, but when their uncle reads their father's last will and testament they discover things are only going to get worse. The will divides the massive estate equally, but there is one catch; all three must be mated and married one year from their father's death. If even one of them fails in this mandate, none of them will inherit! Estranged, the siblings will now be forced to help each other.

Rayne's Thunder is Rayne Manchester's journey toward finding a mate and walking down the aisle. Upcoming, Rhyme's Reason and River's Fire are River and Rhyme's stories to happily ever after.

In Rayne's Thunder, Part One: Master Chef of the Dating a Werewolf Series, Rayne meets her first suitor, Brick. Their date goes well until payback is delivered for the disrespect the two made to the new alpha. Immerse yourself in this series, the characters, and their world. They're waiting for you to join them on their adventure.

Each installment will serve up romance, suspense, intrigue, and action.

Message from Rayne:

My father's death rattled me to the core. A part of me died with him and left my world spinning out of control. I needed the sanity, the comfort home and my pack offered. Returning home was the only option. Father was always overbearing, determined, protective. He felt he knew what was best for all of us, even if it wasn't.

But this time he really overstepped, I mean to tell me who and when I need to marry and mate from beyond the grave is just inexcusable and to make it worse, he wasn't here for me to tell him how furious I was with him.

There's only one saving grace... at least he left me with a decent list. I'm looking forward to my first date with Brick Mason. I hear he's a mater chef and comes from a respectable alpha family in Wyoming. I suppose we'll see. Whatever happens finding true love is going to be an adventure. I hope you'll join me on my journey to my happily ever after.

I just finished reading 'Rayne's Thunder: Master Chef' part 1 of Jami's new series "Dating a Werewolf".... I loved it. I was quickly drawn into the story & couldn't believe it had finished when it did, especially with how it ended.

Rayne's world is rocked by the death of her father, the alpha, she heads home from college in time for the funeral & the reading of the will. Her father has a particular request of Rayne & her siblings, giving the an inhertance they'll receive ONLY if the are ALL able to find a mate & marry within the year. This is the start to Rayne's journey.

I really enjoyed reading this story, I think the growth Rayne is about to go through during her journey has already started to show. Thank goodness it's only part of of Rayne's story, I can't wait to read what happens next in not only Rayne's story but also in the series.

Thunderous clouds ahead

Rayne’s Thunder, Part 1 was a short but entertaining read as the tale took my emotions on a bit of a jig up and down the scales. Who wouldn’t feel that total sense of empathy as Rayne attempts to deal with the loss of her father and the expectations of family at the wake? Who wouldn’t feel anger towards the man that hits on your in the midst of your grief, especially if that person is someone you have always perceived as the enemy? I swear I totally wanted to punch the obnoxious Storm at times only to get minor glimpses of the hurt alpha within and then want to turn around and cheer him on. It’s amazing when an author can get you so involved with the characters that you are instantly rooting for them or ready to bawl your eyes out when they are feeling down.

Although most of us can honestly say our fathers haven’t put us in the untenable position of selecting a mate in under a year, in order to not only save our own inheritance but that of our siblings and the livelihood of our pack, we can probably put ourselves in just a few of the other positions the siblings found themselves in. The shame and humiliation of realizing those you love are disappointed in you. The frustration of everyone feeling you are too immature and irresponsible. Family that no matter how loving their intentions butt in where they aren’t wanted when it comes to our dating lives. Parents or siblings that think they have the right to determine where you go to school and how you live your adult life. It’s been many a year since I’ve dealt with some of those issues; but like they were but yesterday, Ms. Brumfield brought all those feelings back home and made them real again.

This first installment saw us through the first of Rayne’s courtships from her father’s prescreened list of suitors. I can’t help but wonder what checklist of faults each will have until Rayne settles on Mr. Right. Because we all know that they will each have their faults, it’s just a matter of deciding which are acceptable and which are not. I’m looking forward to seeing what comedy of errors and challenges Rayne will step through as well as her siblings, River and Rhyme. Perhaps most of all I want to know where the chemistry between Storm and Rayne will lead them. I see some thunderous clouds ahead. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

First off let me start by saying NO! NO! NO! Jami Brumfield just did not end the book there. I so need the 2nd book like yesterday..LOL Just by reading the 1st book I can already tell you it is going to be a great series.

Rayne, her brother River, and her sister Rhyme are just devastated over their father’s death. Has to be hard for them being strong for the pack when all they want to do is morn their father’s death. Their father has a surprise for them they will soon find out when their uncle reads the will. You can say he is backing them against the wall even beyond the grave. To get their inheritance they all 3 must marry and mate. If one fails to do so then they all 3 lose their inheritance.

Reading this I had to look at the father with eyes of respect. Even though this demand seems harsh it shows love. He wanted them to be forced to rely on each other, draw strength from each other, and be pulled closer together. He wanted them to have the happiness that he once had. What love that really shows even beyond the grave. Given them a list future mates to choose from I had to wonder if he knew which one they would end up with in the end. Guess I will have to read the whole series to find out.. 

I love the sparks that are flying between Rayne and Storm. I wonder if Storm is going to be able to stand by and watch as she dates other men to see which one is best suited for her. Seems like chemistry is flowing thru River and Chloe as well. Hum, wonder if Chloe is on River’s list…

Anyway, if you have not started this series and love shifter books or romance as far as that goes. I would highly suggest this book. Now, waiting not so patiently for book 2.

Rayne's father has just died and she is home for the funeral, it is bittersweet as their family had fallen apart many years ago and now the only person that ever loved her is gone. The three siblings will need each other more than ever as they are werewolves and River the brother will become Alpha and he will need their help. But father has just thrown them a curveball in his will, everything will go to them but they will all need to be mated within the year and if they refuse all of them will lose their money. Rayne doesn't want to get married but she knows that her brother & sister Rhyme need the money so she goes first. The first guy on her list isn't too bad but it isn't the one for her and the one wolf that wants to stay away from is the one that wants her. Storm wants her but he knows that he has to keep his hands off and she isn't too keen on his advances and their families are enemies so where does this leave them?
Can Rayne find a mate and just help the family or will she make a total mess of it all again? A great read.

Another wonderful series by Author Jami Brumfield. This is the first book into this new tale about a father and alpha still controlling from the grave. Each of his children have 1 year to find a mate or lose their inheritance. He was nice enough to provide a list of suitable candidates for each and Rayne is the first to go on a date. This was a fast easy read and a great introduction to the background of each of the siblings. The dynamics between the three siblings are very strained and it will take some work for them to learn about each other and get along. This looks like it is going to be a fun and entertaining series and I look forward to seeing what happens on date #2.

I was given this book for an honest review. This book was powerful from the start! After the death of their father and pack leader, Rayne and her siblings are in the position to find a mate and marry within a year. Each given a list. Heat arises for Rayne in more ways than one. Feel the confusion, excitement and more in this first installment that will leave you on the edge of needing more!

Master Chef by Jami Brumfield is a good read. I already know how I want the series to end, so ... good job? The characters are strong and the story line is solid. I dropped a star for some editing errors. I am not sure how I obtained just this edition, as all of the series is sold together on amazon, but I am happy to have had this taste. I am excited to see where this goes as all three main characters seem to have their own stories coming.

This was a good read giving you a little action with a few very controlling men one who just wants the best for his sister the other said he wants what is best for the pack. I am not sure I am buying that but we will see as the story continues. It is hard enough when you are on the outs with your family but what do you do when the father you love who you haven’t seen in years dies leaving a will that said you must marry within a year or you lose everything. He gives you a list of those to choose from some you have never met and others you do not care for. For Rayne she thinks her father has lost it with Storm’s name being added to the list she is sure of it. She doesn’t need the money but the wise father throws in a twist if one does not comply with the rules they all are cut out of the will. The others need the money this first installment in this series is about the fathers will, the trying times for the pack, and Rayne’s first date.

The author gives you lovely characters and tells a little about each in this first installment. Rayne is a strong willed lady who knows her mind not letting herself be pushed around. This does get her into a lot of trouble as you will find as you read this delightful read. This is a very short read which gives you most of the information you will need. I found very little was left out and the author never leaves you hanging. As with most short reads a reviewer cannot give out to much information or there would be no reason for you to read the book.

River her brother is now the alpha and leader of their pack. He isn’t finding that easy with other packs wanting to take it over. He is strong and a loving man who will have some tough decisions to make some will be about Rayne but he must do what is best for the pack. I really liked him he is an upfront person who cares so much and will make a great leader I am sure if he can just find the right mate.

Rhyme is a lovely lady with a few issues she is working through. She and Rayne had a major falling out which tore the family apart. With their fathers dead they have come together and straightened out past mistakes. There isn’t a lot about her in this book but more will come as the series takes off.

The first date for Rayne was interesting as she works her way through the list of men her father gave her. I am not sure what the date thought he was doing which got him and Rayne in a mess of trouble. With Storm to the rescue things heat up. I will be very surprised when this series is over and these two do not end up together. They have wonderful chemistry as the passion heats up but neither seems to be interested in taking it farther. They do not even seem to like each other but we will see…

I thought this was well written with little left out. I understood why the sisters stopped speaking to each other. I could not understand why Rayne did not go home for years why she was away at school. She adores her father I just do not feel the drift between the two sisters would have kept her away from her father. Maybe I missed something but for me this was not explained. That is the only issues I had with this read. I thought the author did an outstanding job of writing a short story and of course this is a cliffhanger but I knew that going in. For a short story that is very interesting the author does hold your attention and gives a well put together story for a reasonable price. She gives you and exciting plot with action and a few thrills that makes this a page turner. If you are into Paranormals and Werewolves I am sure you will enjoy this read as much as I did. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series as well as more from this author. I have found this author does have a reading group if you liked the story you might want to join her FB group. Jami Brumfield's Reader Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/16118...

Rayne's Thunder, Part One: Master Chef, Dating a Werewolf Series by Jami Brumfield captured my attention from the very beginning. I was not disappointed but wanted to read more. Rayne Manchester needs to be strong to face what the future holds. Will she be more considerate of others? Will whe make less risky decisions?

I loved the novella! Be ready for a wild and adventurous quick read. She made the sexual tension, and the chemistry believable. The different characters had depth and were engaging. The story and characters' dialogues were great! The novella was well paced and the setting was realistic. I was caught up in the fascinating and truly original storyline. I just couldn’t put it down. It was exciting, and awesome read. This is a paranormal tale with romance, action, and drama. The author’s vivid storytelling made it a breeze to read. There was never a dull moment to be had. I was eagerly hanging on trying to find out what would happen next. You'll just have to read about the first date with Master Chef, Brick Mason. I don't want to spoil it and tell.

I finished Rayne's Thunder, Part One: Master Chef of the Dating a Werewolf Series quickly. Rayne's Thunder, Part One is from a serialized novella series be prepared that there is no standalone, no HEA, and ends in a cliffhanger. The first book in Dating a Werewolf Series by Jami Brumfield was and unique from other stories that I have read. I look forward to reading more books from this series. I would buy books from her in the future. I highly recommend this author. I gave this book 4.5 stars.

This is a paranormal novella. I recommend this for young adults due to the sexual references. The perfect me time book, you will most definitely get your muscled alpha fix. I related to the relationship that Rayne has with her father. And I admired her willingness to change for her family's best interest. I can't wait to read more.

Rayne has come home from college. All she wanted was to live a "normal" life, well as normal as possible for a wolf. Now she is questioning everything, she is carrying the guilt that she should have been home. She has lost her father, and being a daddy's girl her heart is shattered. Caught between grief and trying to be strong she is given an ultimatum that has left her flabbergasted. What was her father thinking? Trying to step up to her father's request she is determined to start looking for her mate. Brick is first on her list. WOW can things get any better? Okay can things get any worse? Not to mention the Storm brewing in the background.

favorite passages:
"The one man who loved me more than anyone else in this world was gone and I needed time to grieve."
"I could almost smell the pipe tobacco that he carried with him in the fabrics of the room."
"River existed in chaos, and I was the storm and calm before the tempest that roared between them."
"Flowers burst forth in bloom in vivacious colors, the grass was a vibrant green and thick as carpet."
"It was odd to watch life continue on while you say goodbye to someone important to you." <3

This is the first book I have read by this author and was enjoying it until it ended. If you don't know this by now, well, I'm not a huge fan of serials. In large part because they end so damn quickly, and usually when things are really heating up. I will give the author credit in that she at least got us through the first date.

After passing away suddenly, Rayne's father's final edict was a doozy. In his will, for any of his children to inherit, all three must select a mate from the lists he designated and marry one within a year from his death or they all lose their inheritance. Yep, if even one of them chooses to walk away, then they all lose out. How's that for motivating your kids to get off their butts and settle down?

In this book, we learn the terms of the will and meet the first of Rayne's suitors. I think we know where this is going, but it should be interesting to see how the author engages us until the end of her search. Perhaps it is going to center around how much Rayne needs to learn about herself, and yes, grow up. No one should dictate who someone else should marry, but sometimes, a little nudge here and there may just get you to see something in someone you completely overlooked or open your eyes to all of your insecurities and biases.

I definitely want to see how we proceed, but admit, I'm not going to be happy if I have to read 8 more books to see how Rayne gets to her final choice.

CAPTIVATING WEREWOLF SERIES!

Rayne's Thunder – Book 1 Master Chef {Dating A Werewolf Series}–Is the birth of a captivating romantic shifter series. I dote series; the anticipation for the next book leaves you something to look forward to, especially in the world of SHIFTERS.

A devoted dad reaches beyond the grave to make certain his beloved children find their never-ending love.

The story is filled with potent impressive and engaging characters, heart-wrenching moments, pent up rage and desires, family issues, gripping suspense, astounding thrilling vivid scene descriptions, friends reunited, secrets told, romance, and a terminus that leaves you enticed to ascertain the answers you hunger for in the next book.

INCREDIBLE exhilarating well written read by a genuinely gifted author. The combination of authenticity and fantasy make the story convincing, and awe-inspiring. I adored all the characters in this story, the bond and devotion between the siblings is well defined and although Rayne has a devil-may-care posture at times, she is definitely a force to be reckoned with. If you love shifter romance this is definitely a great choice for your collection. In the world of shifter romance the possibilities are endless but always fascinating. {I was gifted this book for a veracious review}. Without reservations I recommend this book and the series.

Review for MASTER CHEF RAYNE’S THUNDER
I received this as a gift for an honest review
Rayne Manchester and her siblings, Rhyme and River, have just buried their father. He was the Alpha of their pack and as such he has made some demands in his will. They must all find, mate and marry their mate within one year of the reading of the will or all will be disinherited. He has also left each of them a list of 10 prospective mates. Now the fun starts. Rayne is the youngest, and as you will see, the most spoiled. When she defies her brother River, the new Alpha, she creates a huge problem for him. It doesn’t look like there will be an easy fix here. River asks her to go back to school so she can’t cause any more trouble. Now it is up to her to finish her last semester and come home to help instead of hinder. Is it possible that by softening her approach to Storm, her pack enforcer and best friend of her brother, that she can mend some fences? Is it even possible considering they seem to hate each other?

Jami Brumfield doesn’t waste any time in diving into the meat of this hot new series. When their pack leader father dies, his 3 children are given one year to meet and marry their mates or none of them inherit the family fortune. As the title suggests, Rayne’s first candidate is a master chef. He’s hot, he’s romantic, he rides a motorcycle, but does he have what it takes to marry into pack royalty?
The story is well written with a solid cast of characters one sense will become friends as the stories develop and plenty of drama inherent in the inevitable power struggle building in answer to the vacuum left by the death of the old king.
The second story on its way, and it looks like there are likely to be plenty more before Rayne finds her mate, but that’s a good thing. This one was a light, fun read, perfect or an afternoon by the pool. I, for one, am looking forward to reading the rest of the story.

This is a great start to a new series! The story quickly grabbed my attention and kept me reading until I finished the book. This series will be about Rayne's journey in finding a spouse/mate. I'm on pins and needles waiting to see who Rayne ends up with (I have my suspicions).
Rayne's father, the alpha of their pack, has just passed away. River, Rayne's brother is has been appointed the new alpha of their pack There is a rival pack that is planning on moving in to take control. At the reading of the will, Rayne and her siblings learn they must all find mates and marry within one year, otherwise they will not recieve their inheritance. Rayne's father gave each of his children a list of who he thought would be a suitable match, so now they much each work their way through the list to find their mate.
This was a quick read with a lot packed into the first story. I look forward to reading more and seeing what happens next.

Raines father just passed away and in his will he left stipulations for them to follow before they can recieve their inheritance. They all have to achieve the goal that their father has place in order to receive their inheritance. He hand picked 10 suitors for each of his children to choose from to mate with and they have to mate within a year from when the will was read. Rayne is not please with this whole situation but she can't walk away knowing it can't hurt her pack in the future. Storm Carter is one of her 10 and she hates him with a passion. They have so much chemistry together and she's not sure why and every time she recalls a memory she starts to question why she ever despise him at all. The first date she had off her list is a Master Chef that Rayne seems to go against her alpha and runs off with him without a chaperone and that does not end well.

The Manchester siblings (River, Rhyme and Rayne) just lost their Dad, but he has one more shock for them from the grave; each must be mated within a year, if one fails they all fail and lose the entire inheritance (needed to run the pack). Rayne has been away at school and really doesn’t want to settle down but has no choice; diving into the dating pool her first encounter is chronicled in this story. To say the least things start bad and get worse when she publically disobeys her brother (the new alpha) and then gets a little too cozy with her date (a hunky alpha from another pack seeking alliances) and ends with a very mad River threatening to send her back to school so she can’t cause any more trouble. One bachelor down 9 to go! Loved this story, characters were charming, entertaining, funny and fun. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Grrrrrr! This has to be one of the most intriguing series I have yet to read. The first episode is fast paced and full of heat. In fact, it is so hot, you may want to be careful and not get too close. Rayne is off and running in her quest to find a mate within the time frame allowed within the perimeters of her fathers will. She has been given a list with ten names on it, and from these ten, she must find the one and only. Her mate and husband. The only problem is....she only knows one on the list, and they can't stand each other. But I have to warn you...Jami Brumfield has left us in the lurch. Part one definitely ends in a massive cliff hanger. Looking forward to part two. This is a series I don't think you will want to miss. I know I don't.

This is the first book I have read by author Jami Brumfield and I think she has taken a creative and different approach on romance serials that are currently so popular. Rayne's father has stipulated in his will that in order for the children to inherit, all three kids must mate and marry one year from his death or they all lose the money. So the author has chosen to write a serial novella for each of the potential suitors until we find "the ONE."
In this entry we got a lot of the background story and the recounting of the first disastrous date. I have to say I found it very entertaining and can't wait to see what is up next. Please keep those dates coming!

This is the first book in the Dating a Werewolf Series, and it was a great start. Rayne has come home for her fathers funeral, he was the packs alpha. When the will was read she found out that she, her sister Rhyme and brother River, the new alpha, have to each be mated within a year or they all lose their inheritance. They were each given a list of candidates to date and they had to chose one from their list to mate and marry in a year. This is the story of Rayne's first date and the after effects of that date. When I finished the book I was so anxious to read the next book to see what happens next. This is such a good series and one I will enjoy reading.

I like this book. It's really good. The writing is fantastic and the story is really appealing. What I don't like is that more and more authors seem to be writing cliffies and from what I can tell this book will have a lot more books. I don't mind them if I can read evey single book one right after the other but I am not the most oatient woman. So, I may return to read the next books after every book comes out. Also I don't like the tiptoing the author is doing because we all know who she belongs to. And frankly it is not at all amusing to see him suffering, even if the author thinks it is. Nope! Don't like it. I may even skip the books in between to read the end. Maybe!

I'm stingy with my 5's I don't give them out very often. I save them for books that are really special to me in some way. But I really liked this book a lot. It has humor, romance, friction, action, and drama. The characters are fresh, intriguing, adventurous, stubborn, childish at times, but truly a joy to read about. I love the plot of the story. It's fun, fresh and unique. The book is well written and believable. I am already cheering for Storm and Rayne to get together. I love their chemistry and dialogue. I look forward to reading the next book.

I recommend this paranormal romance to any and all who want a fun, light afternoon read.

The death of their father makes them all gather at the compound. controlling as he was when alive, he's still pulling strings now he's dead. To keep their inheritance all three siblings must find a mate within a year AND that mate must be one of those he listed he thought were good for them. How do you handle that? Well you go on a dating spree. But not everything is smooth sailing, not when the boy you always disliked turned into one hunk of a man and ruffles your feathers. it doesn't help that he's also on the list of possible mates ...
Will rayne find her perfect match ? who knows but i would recommend this read. i enjoyed it a lot and i can't wait to read the next book in this series!!

This story was really good besides the quick part since it will be in installments. I love the characters and their personalities and how they gel as a family. When I read the blurb I thought that the siblings were three girls but I’m glad there is a male caught up in the stipulation also. The twist from the father is not fair but I think he had a sixth sense about people and what they needed even if they didn’t know. I can’t wait for the next part because the tension in that house is great.

This is a great start to the series. Three siblings have one year to find their mate or they all lose their inheritance. Rayne is studying to be a doctor and is not thrilled to have to end her plans. She would be willing to risk it but she won't if her brother and sister lose out. Her first date with an alpha who is a chef starts great. She also has to fight her attraction to a member of the pack. I am eager to watch Rayne's journey. I received a copy in return for a honest review.

Oh my gosh what a fabulous read. I loved this story. Her father dies and leaves a messed p stipulation on how to get her inheritance. She goes out on the first date but upsets the pack on how she did it. She found out he wasn't man or wolf enough for her. She hurt her brother and as punishment he sent her back to school. Will she learn her lesson and of the 9 suitors left who will she date next? What will happen next?
