Thanks to NetGalley for the Mad About You ARC. My opinions are my own so take them with a grain of salt. Mad About You is my second book by author and I’m even more impressed this time around, and I adored the last one. Our narrator, Meg, though heading towards midlife, finds herself out of a job and moving back home. Dog walking as a temp job, Meg ends up inheriting from the elderly woman she dog walks for when she passes, providing a second chance for Meg she never could have expected. Life changing for Meg she’s now a home owner and the proud owner of 3 dogs, and some money in the bank. As much as I thought the love story between Meg and Ed was adorable, the dogs really helped push this to a 5* for me. Being a dog owner and lover, the business plan Meg and her new Veterinarian, Ed, come up with had me swooning. We follow Meg as she acclimates to this new future, falling in love with Ed along the way. Ed has a girlfriend at the beginning but once they start seeing each other he’s broken up with her. So, no cheating whatsoever to contend with. Was pretty low angst actually, and high cuteness which was so needed for me right now.

A heartwarming read that I would definitely recommend!
I enjoyed Mad About You, a funny, feel-good romance about reinvention, unexpected inheritance, and finding love and purpose in your forties.
Meg unexpectedly inherits a house—and the dogs—from one of her mother’s former patients, whose dogs she had been walking. Her life soon takes an unexpected turn when she meets the handsome vet, Ed. Of course, things are complicated by the fact that Ed has a girlfriend, while Meg’s ex suddenly reappears in her life.
Set against the cosy backdrop of the Cotswolds, Meg’s journey from a dog-walker stuck in a rut to a cottage owner is charming, uplifting, and full of cosy escapism. I loved the cast of characters, including Meg’s slightly questionable cousin and uncle, who added plenty of fun to the story!
A lovely, heartwarming romance perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan and Jill Mansell.

This was my first time reading a book by Heidi Stephens and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The story is centered around Meg a woman who is having to reinvent herself/her life in her 40's. She inherits 3 dogs and a house from a woman who implores her to not stop living. Meg goes forth and does just that. She lives. She finds love (Ed the vet *swoon*), she creates a world of family and friends and dogs, making her own community and thriving.
Meg is a realistic MFC who so many can relate to, as I did. The whole cast of characters is entertaining and realistic.
While this is a romance, it is honestly a story about living and finding the romance in life. Also, the side story of the dogs makes my heart so happy.

This was such a cozy romance about finding yourself again in middle age! It was a very sweet read, with lots of dogs and other furry friends.
This was very much a slice-of-life kind of book, with very little conflict—in fact, things seemed to work out pretty well for Meg, the MC. Because there was so little conflict, I sometimes did get a little bored, but there was a huge cast of side characters, some of whom life didn’t work out too well for, to break up any monotony.
I also think this book addressed aging, grief, and death really well, and I appreciated that.

Super cute!
This is kind of the definition of fluff. Such a sweet and easy read. But somehow there’s so much going on for no reason!
The additions of the chaotic families despite minimal presence from them felt strange. Similarly, Oksana and her story felt shoehorned in.
Don’t get me wrong, I had a good time reading it! But multiple times throughout I found myself saying “what the hell, sure” in my head because of details that felt like they were thrown in at random.

We meet Meg at a point in her life where she's living back with her parents and making ends meet as a dog walker. Then everything flips upside down when her client Violet passes away and leaves her a gorgeous cottage in the Cotswolds, the three chaotic dogs she walked the local vet Ed.
For the short time of Violet being in the story at the being I felt connected to the friendship that Meg had with Violet.
This book had many additional characters which brought a number a story of friendship, starting over as well as romance. I found it quite nice how Meg and Ed met and felt like a natural connection.
Overall a really lovely chilled lighthearted read.
