The Academy is a malicious, evil organization that kidnaps teenagers and forces them to compete in lethal tasks. Follow Asa Palmer through his time at this odd place.
Chad Leito (AKA William Dye) is a writer from Denton, Texas. He is the author of the Mungus Serial Series and is currently working on a second series, The Academy. He has also written stand alone novel, The Neighborhood.
Great book. It was a great book and i cant wait for the next one to come out but, there was some mild language in it. This book is a lot like the hunger games. So far this series is very intense. I recommend it.
The book was really well written. It's not often that I find a series that I do not want to out down. This series does that, I want to know what comes next for Asa and The Academy. Thank you to Chad for making it available on Amazon.
Wow somehow these books keep my attention so well. This book is definitely different from the other ones but still pretty good. I really hope there will be a book 4.
This book series had such amazing potential. Instead it feels like a fifth grader wrote this as an assignment with a minimum word requirement. I swear to God I almost wanted to blow my fucking brains out reading the same thing over and over. This entire series could have been boiled down to about 400 pages without the repetition, and probably less than 300 without the meaningless musings of the main character.
Mr. Leito, sincerely fuck you for wasting my time and yours. Don't quit your day job.
Although very different from the first two books, The Academy book 3 is still a very gripping read. It happened over a shorter period of time, 3/4 days rather than months and we also see Asa with even more emotional depth as he is constantly fighting with himself in an internal monologue, which was well done and interesting, however, was sometimes a bit too long causing you to lose interest. With each book the atmosphere becomes darker which is reflected by the cover art. I did not expect the book to follow this plot line, which could have been a risk; however, Leito did with complete success. I greatly look forward to reading the next instalment.
The author was experimenting with internal dialogue for the main character. Some of this was enjoyable however the long internal monologue became very boring and trite after about a third of the book. The store was still enjoyable and still build upon a good premise so I enjoyed book overall however it would be great to reduce the level of internal discussion.
Well imagined, good story, some memorable characters.
Needs better editing. Some spellchecker-type errors. Also Way Too Much interior monologue in italics. Keep writing, because I want to keep reading! Still a lot to find out & experience, people to get to know. Looking forward to next book in series!
I like the overall plot, I admit I was expecting some new third semester life. But all in all I really like how the end has multiple ways the next book can lead off in to. Chad Lieto did a great job writing it.
Would love a fourth book. Very few books offer an escape such as this series provides me. Great series, great adventure, well written (though there were occasional spelling errors through the book which could be on amazon since I read on a kindle.)
Not as good as the first two. To much internal dialog for me. Also to much recap of the past. Still an ok read though. Can't wait to see if the next ones better.
