I have read all 6 books in the Scarred series, and will say I really like them. Each book is rather short so was glad that I could get all six, didn't want to wait to see what happened next. You read how our heroine goes from damaged and scared to fearless. Taking on her tormentor and over coming her past.

OK I have finished the series and this review is based on all of them combined.

In this we have the main character Chloe, on the run from her abusive boyfriend who tried to kill her.
Straight off the bat, I wasn't a fan. There wasn't really anything that I felt I could relate to her about. I wanted to like her. She had a super crap life, abused by her adoptive parents and then abused by her ex-boyfriend. She works in a strip club (?) as a pole dancer who doesn't get naked and only does private dances. To be honest even that aspect seemed far-fetched.
One night a man turns up to watch her dance and offers the owner a lot of money for Chloe to only dance for him for the week.
Totally non-creepy right?
Of course he is the most gorgeous man in the world.
What follows is their love story which turns icky when it turns out she's a twin and he was married to her twin sister. He basically loves/wants her because of that.
From here on out, the story gets more far-fetched, a scene taken straight out of the Jennifer Lopez film "Enough" happens and they then live HEA.

I suppose in some ways the author succeeded in keeping this interesting enough because I read the entire lot. However, I didn't particularly enjoy any of them.
Chloe was a bit of a bitch, really condescending towards the other girls of the club. Totally thought she was better than all of them.

There were spelling errors and inconsistencies throughout these too and there were so many that they became more obvious the more I read.
Example 1:- Jesse became Jessie a few times.
Example 2:- In one of the parts, Derek's father Kevin, mentioned how he offered to represent Jesse and Vince turned him down. In another part Jake mentions that his father (Kevin) refused to represent him.

When reading the reviews, I can't help but wonder if everyone else read something different than I did??

There was a good premise for this, however, it just fell totally flat. With creepy characters (Derek) and unlikable ones (Chloe). I usually don't route for the "hero" of a story to die but I found myself hoping Derek was going to die after the car crash.

This last part really didn't need to happen because the story was wrapped up in Part 5.

I really really dislike leaving reviews like this :-(

I read all six books as a complete series over the course of the last few days. I’ve been gripped the whole time and the series has been a great read.

Chloe is a survivor, not a victim. What she has endured through her life is graphically described in these books, and it’s a wonder that she didn’t give up at any point over the previous 24 years of her life. Most people would be dead or in therapy by now.

Her story is told mainly in flashbacks, through journal entries and reminiscences. The character she is now will no longer run from her past, now that her fortune has changed and she has the chance of a good life.

Overall, the storyline followed the path that I thought it would, but it was well written and held my interest throughout. A good way to spend a couple of days reading.

I am not sure what happened to my previous reviews but I had read this earlier this year and then just did a recent reread as the box set. If I had to guess this was during the time that Goodreads wasn't tracking things problem due to a known glitch, or when my iPad was saying it was submitting reviews to Goodreads or Amazon but in reality, it wasn't. Who knows. Thank goodness I did a reread or my challenge would be missing these fantastic books.

This was a great series and this conclusion was the best. It tied up the tension, suspense, and unanswered questions that had been lingering through the series. It is dark, gritty, and oftentimes heartbreaking and almost broke me. The author did a good job putting me back together again.

that was a pretty good story per together that i really enjoyed, a bit too much drama, but it kept me on my toes to get to the happy ending. But seriously, lady author, you have some big mistakes. 1.where can we find out about the trial which you left hanging at the end? 2. did Derek's father refused to represent Jesse( or Jessie?!?) in trial or he asked to as you said at the beginning...3 oh! i just remember there was another complaint filed by the guy you punched in the club, what about that one.....get a pen and paper and write down your minutes 'cause lady you may get Alzheimer soon....🙌 high 5

But wait a second.... the one part I’m confused about is this:

Chloe wakes up and no one is around, and she wonders if people forgot her birthday.... she goes to the backyard, yaddi yadda, has a chat with Jake.
Then she wakes up, Derek is with her, and it’s her birthday? And everyone is home and things are all prepared?
Confusion.

Enjoyed the books anyway!
Thanks Walker :)

I loved this series (1-6). It was a great thriller, mystery, and romance packed into a 6 book series. I didn't tire even after 6 books! I would recommend this to anyone who likes this genre. Don't want to give anything away. But it is definitely worth reading.

3 stars because it was just so so. I liked all the other books but to end the series this could have just been added on to part 5, and been wrapped up in 30 pages.

SCARRED - Part 6 - What a wonderful ending to a Great Series!! I really enjoyed reading this series!! The author, Kylie Walker takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride with her characters and storyline.

Jake had just pulled up to Chloe's house. The police were there and he was running towards Chloe as she dropped to the ground. Jake had managed to get within three feet of her when the officer told Jake to get down on the ground. Jake told the officer that he was Chloe's attorney and that she needed an ambulance now. The officer told him that he needed to secure the scene. Jake told him that he just arrived and he wasn't part of the scene. But that didn’t stop him from handcuffing and putting him the back of the police care. Kevin had just pulled up and managed to get things straightened out for Jake. Kevin told Jake to get to the hospital that he would handle things at the scene. The officer asks if they can tell him who the deceased is and Kevin told him he would take a look at the body, if it’s who he thinks it is they can go ahead and call his parents.

Jake calls the Whitemore’s (Chloe’s parent’s) first because Derek is with them and tells them that Chloe is at the hospital. Trevor tells Jake they will be there as soon as they can. He call’s Roxie and picks her up on the way to the hospital. Jake and Roxie arrive at the hospital and ask the nurse how Chloe is doing. She tells them that the cut was to the bone and she is still in surgery. The doctor has to repair the artery and muscles in her arm. Kevin walks in along with two detectives and is updated on her condition. The detectives are asking questions and they give them the preliminary information. They are shocked that Jesse only got 2 years in prison.
Chloe was just coming to after the surgery and she is thinking Jesse is dead. The nurse gets her to a room and when she comes to again she is asking for Derek, but Jake is there with Roxie. The nurse comes in and tells her that both she and the baby are fine. WHAT?

Okay, you really need to read this book and series to find out what happens!!! Even though this book has a HEA you may need to keep a few tissues handy!! Just saying from my personal experience!!

With this series ending, I can't wait to see what Kylie Walker has in store for all of her fans next!!!!

What a perfect ending to a wonderful series!!

I swear anybody giving this series a 1 star rating should be ashamed of their selfish, miserable, and ignorant selves, especially seeing that the first book was free and less than a freaking buck for the rest of the short series. I guess they would rather pay $2.99 per chapter for a crappy two minute story about a person somewhere having sex with a hairy, bald guy with buck-teeth, and a speedo that has no bulge because the guy’s penis is only 3 inches long.

Nobody held a gun to your big whopper-heads and said, "You have to read this series." How stupid!! You don't give a 1 star because the book was bad. You're probably the kind of person that complains about everything in life, making your family and two friends from childhood who dodges the phone when you call, miserable. Your husband and kids, maybe even parents wish you would just drop dead to put them out of the misery of having to deal with you.

(Sweet baby Jesus, please forgive me for saying these bad things about these ignorant people who enjoy tearing other peoples work down for no good reason, and please don't strike them dead with a ball of cannon fire. Instead, just let them get struck by lightning and live to tell it. While you're doing the lightening thing, dear sweet baby Jesus, maybe you can take away their voice for several years so that their family can finally have some peace and quiet for a change. Amen)

This was a great book with an excellent plot, and well done writing. I completely enjoyed this series.

Thank you so much Kylie Walker, and thank you Elena for sending me the link to this story. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Happy kindling

First let me say this is the only review I'm writing for all six books in the series because they are all pretty short. I also want to say ALL parts 1-5 got 5 stars from me. They are fantastic books. I loved each and every one of them and each one had me itching to read the next. Derek and Chloe's story was so sweet and Jesse... Man, Jesse was just the worst kind of psycho. Chloe chose to stop being his victim (physically and mentally) and we get to watch her confidence grow. It's a beautiful thing, as is the love she has found with Derek. The last book is the only one that fell flat for me. It was a beautiful HEA, which is fantastic, but it lost me in the verbose descriptions of everything. The houses (they went house hunting), the food, the everything, was described in so much detail that I just lost interest, and this was all after the HEA had already happened. I felt that it was all just kind of filler and that the series could have probably been wrapped up in the fifth book.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. As I said, the first five all got five stars from me. Completely worth it, but you might end up skimming a bit in the sixth.

I was gifted an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.......

I typically do not go for novellas. I am glad that I disregarded my normal attitude and tried this series. Reason for not going with novellas is I have felt in the past that they are too short and never had depth to them. That is not the case with the SCARRED series. Each book brought something else out and the reader discovered more about the drama that unfolds. Does each book end with a cliffhanger? Yes. Does each book leave you craving for more? Most definitely yes. I can say that I could see this series turn into an actual novel because the novel could take off where the book ends. Without giving away any spoilers, lets just say that there could be a drama unfold that would be interesting read. I would just hope it would come as a novel instead of novellas.

Triggers: There is domestic violence within the book that may not be able to be handled by some. Please be over 18 to read this due to mature content.

I just loved reading this whole series and was so intriguing and realistic of what we as humans can go through and yet come out stronger. Author did such a great job that I can't wait to read more of her work that comes out! I got this book for free and in return give an honest review. Chloe and Derek were such a great supporting and loving couple and in the end to be blessed with a special miracle was a great gift. They had a great family and friends who also helped and supported them in any way possible. To be scarred for life in such a but yet to come out fighting and a stronger person for it with the love and support of the right persons in your life is even better and less painful! I have enjoyed reading this book for it was very inspirational and heartfelt. This is a must read series for it is a great book to read.

I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really good series. Book six wrapped it all up so nicely.
Chloe and Derek have been thru h*ll and back and managed to come out of the darkness and find their happiness.
This series will take you on a roller coaster of a ride and I felt so many different emotions reading this series.
So happy that Chloe was finally free of Jesse and she was able to finally be free of all the pain he inflicted.
The ending of this series was bittersweet and I loved the epilogue. This is one of the best series I have read so far this year and am so looking forward to reading more from stories from Kylie.

WOW! It was like a movie playing in my head the entire time. Fantastic! I enjoyed each and every moment of this book/series. Kelly/Chloe is an amazing woman. The way she met Derek was odd. Each character in this book plays an important good or bad role in Chloe's life. All of them were well thought out.

This is a perfectly put together story and I was sorry for it to end. I look forward to reading more from this fabulous author.

SCARRED - Part 6 of 6
by Kylie Walker

This is a great ending to very emotional, sometimes heart-breaking story, as well as being very joyous too. As I read each part I felt for these characters more and more.

With everything that Chloe and Derek had been through, they came out all the better for it.

I can't stress enough how much I Loved this story. I just further shows you, that what doesn't kill you....makes you stronger.

And in Chloe's words....."Pain goes away".

I truly enjoyed reading this series it was filled with so much so much angst and heartache physical and emotional pain at time I felt like I was on a emotional roller coaster but we also had romance, Tru love, and redemption. I love Chloe she show so much courage and strength I'm glad that she got the HEA that she deserve for the first time in her life she could totally and truly be free. If you haven't read this series your totally missing out who doesn't love a heroine that can be sexy, sassy, and kick ass definitely must read.

It has been an emotional journey. It started out so dark with her living in fear and feeling so alone. Along the way she finds family and love and more than she ever expected. I enjoyed it so much. It didn't go as expected in the beginning but it ends where it should. The journal entries really give the reader a chance to connect with her and her twin sister. I highly recommend the series to those who enjoy seeing a survivor fight to get the life and love they deserve.

Yay! Chloe finally gets her happy ever after (thanks for the reassurance, Kylie! Lol) Everything is tied up with a bow, and you can't help but feel pleased that Chloe got her piece of happiness and can *finally* stop looking over her shoulder. I would like maybe for there to be a spin-off series that shows Roxi's backstory. *nudge, nudge* I'm looking forward to reading more from Kylie in the future.

FANTASTIC FINALE TO SERIES!!!!!
I loved this whole series!!! I'm sorry to see it end, but so happy Chloe and Derek, their families and friends, all got happy endings. This book had a great cast of characters you couldn't help but fall in love with. The message Chloe writes for her daughter Sophia in her journal is a message we should all live by. Can't wait for the next book or series from Ms Walker. I received this book as a gift for an honest review. Patsy Sacco

Okay so I'm back with quick review of this series. Book six was a little long winded for me but with that being said. I loved this series I loved the journal entries. I loved the final show down. Poor Derek she got that boy so lost in the game. I throughly enjoyed this series but it could have been one novella shorter. I don't wanna mess up the experience for anyone. So in short it had me laughing, scared to death and on the edge of my seat what a wonderful read.

[Big Deep Breath] Took me forever to finish this. All the drama and excitement was over so what the heck else was she going to write a bout? I'm so glad this series is over. I'll never sink any more money into a six part series. Had I known that's what I was getting into, I'd never started it in the first place. The description of the first part kinda left that tidbit of info out. I was pleased that the author continued to grow as a writer. I only rolled my eyes a couple times this go round.
