Riding the Surfer: Straight to Gay MM First Time

Rate this book
“You’re such a tease. Going to bend you over and fill you up until your cries echo down the beach.”

Mark had a plan. Windsurf and get wet in more ways than one.

It didn’t matter that his so-called friends ghosted him. The road trip was still on.

The plan didn’t account for Bodhi. The hot, sunkissed, massive surf bro who took Mark under his wing. He’d teach Mark all the windsurfing tricks.

Like how to keep your balance on a board while being swallowed whole - It’s not gay when someone does it to you.

But the way Mark lingered in Bodhi’s arms? His desire to break Bodhi’s chill exterior by any means necessary?

That could get him in trouble. Deep, deep trouble.

🌊🏄The weight he’d always carried was gone.
With Bodhi, he was free.🌊🏄

This was another enjoyable read with a cute HEA.

I don't think it was overflowing with spice, but when they do finally have sex... it's pretty hot.

Ofc unrealistic prep and enjoyment for a virgin, but unless the story makes it seem outrageous (and I have read MANY of these kind), I've become fine with it.
It's just a fantasy, after all.

This is one of Pat Lewis's books I'd recommend you check out.✅

I know I keep saying this when reviewing his books now, but I can't understand the complete difference between the last two books I've read and enjoyed by him vs. that one series that was littered with so many errors I was angry for days... unreasonably, embarrassingly angry to be honest.

I think his books from this year (2026) might be better?
or maybe the ones with the pink font?
I might just have to be okay with never knowing.

After getting ghosted by his so called friends Mark ran into a sexy, windsurfing god, Bodhi, with a sunshine personality.

The unique sex locations were a nice touch.

Bodhi slapped Mark’s ass like he’d been presenting it.
“Hey!”
“Damn that’s one fine ass. I knew it looked good - love those tight red shorts - but it felt damn fine. How many more days do I have you again?” Bodhi asked again.
“Three more,” Mark said without thinking.

A storyline with true meaning
I’ve got to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book now. Don’t get me wrong of course there is passion, after all it is written by Pat Lewis but for me the real goal of this book was a fact that Mark had been ghosted by his friends. He was at university training to be a doctor. the people who he called his friends were not really his friends so he continued on his beach holiday wanting to make some real memories and that’s what he got when he met Bodhi. I think from the get go Bodhi saw through Mark’s story of knowing how to Windsurf when it comes apparent that it was all talk Mark agrees to take lessons and that’s how these two meet and that is all I’m telling you
I thoroughly enjoyed this Book. I thought these two had real chemistry and I just enjoyed the end of this book a great read.

Pat Lewis delivers again

You know what to expect when you read a Pat Lewis book: fun characters, usually a clueless, naïve younger guy paired with a more experienced one who guides his awakening. Even though the premise repeats, each short story feels distinct enough that you remember the characters and their setup. That takes real skill.

I found Riding the Surfer to be different primarily because of Bodhi, the surfing instructor was mature, not in age and kind. He played the long game and got what he wanted in the end -Mark. Bodhi gave Mark the space - a safe space - to explore his sexuality with no pressure. Which was necessary as Mark was turned up inside his head to really make any sensible decisions.

For a short read, it packed a punch and I was rewarded with the expected happy ending.

Learning to Windsurf . . .

Mark was supposed to be going on a road trip with the guys, but they all seemed to have other things going on and rudely ghosted him. So he decided to go to the beach on his own to try windsurfing. Mark rented the gear he would need from the guy who worked at the rental hut on the beach, and Bodhi helped him get set up for what might be the thrill of his life. The lessons included helping Mark learn to balance and maneuver while experiencing the ultimate distraction! Mark never realized there was more to this activity than he had imagined -- and this could become his absolute favorite sport if he avoids drowning! He has already extended the time he has spent here, and he's not ready to walk away yet... or maybe ever? What does the future have in store for him?

Mark should be going to the beach with friends from college, but they all skipped out last minute. Mark decided to go anyway.
I like that he did that, that it didn't stop him from going and having fun.

When he meets Bodhi he first acts like he knows how to surf, but Bodhi sees through him and soon Mark hires him for lessons. Only the extra lessons he gets, he didn't see coming. And also that he likes them so much.

This book has spicy moments, but less as other books from this writer. I liked it that there was more of a story around it. Although I would have minded a longer story, this is a short story. If you like other books from this writer, I am sure you like this one with a summer vibe too.

All Mark wanted was a great summer vacation with his buddies from college. Alas, they all ghosted him. Mark decided to vacation alone, have some fun, and maybe make some memories with some girls to tell his so-called friends about when he went home. He decided that windsurfing would be a great way to get the attention needed to score. Did his plan go as intended? Maybe yes, maybe no, lol. He certainly got the windsurfing instructor's attention! Bodhi is such a wonderful character - total golden retriever type and I adored him. All the subterfuge during the lessons was so funny. This is Pat Lewis at their best - producing a smutty short with endearing characters that is also sweet as can be with the best HEA. Definitely a fave.

I really enjoyed this book as it starts by giving you a glimpse of what Mark's life is and his struggle to break free from toxic expectations and friends. Bodhi is exactly the right always happy and positive golden retriever person that Mark needs to be able to finally find and accept himself. The main steamy scene is totally unrealistic but still super HOT. My favorite part of the book is the end though - it not only shows their feeling but gives hope for their future.

Mark goes to the beach to get away, even though all his friends bailed on him. He meets Bodhi, who ends up giving him windsurfing lessons. As the lessons progress the touching gets more private. As Mark comes to realize he's interested in Bodhi, he keeps prolonging his stay. After they hookup, Mark informs Bodhi that he's transferred college and isn't leaving.

This is another short and spicy read that works incredibly well. Mark is a college student who decides to learn windsurfing on vacation to impress the girls. But handsome instructor Bodhi touches him. Like a lot. Nothing unprofessional (to begin with) but soon enough Mark's reacting to Bodhi like he reacts to the girls. Or more so, as it happens. A lovely spicy awakening story.

⭐⭐⭐ 3/5.

Estuvo bien. El inicio es lento y poco interesante, pero luego empiezan las escenas 🔥 y se puso mejor la cosa.
