This Is How You Destroy Me
Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley, and Pansy Parkinson are forcibly paired under a reenacted marriage law, designed to combat the wizarding world’s plummeting population. Matches must consummate their unions within a year or face reassignment.
Furious at the injustice, Hermione agrees to marry Draco Malfoy, as a calculated act of rebellion, determined to expose the law’s cruelty from within. Draco, under his mother’s pressure, sees the marriage as a means to an end, a way to restore the Malfoy name and manipulate public favour by aligning with the war’s golden girl.
Ron and Pansy, unexpectedly matched and left behind, are forced into uneasy coexistence, watching the people they care for most choose strategy over sentiment.
Intentions don’t stay hidden forever. With every bitter word, every stone thrown, and every unspoken truth, each couple finds themselves inching closer to the edge, until love, loyalty, and defiance bleed into something more dangerous.
This is not how you fall in love. This is how you destroy me.

Read
September 7, 2026The Ministry enforces a marriage law that pairs Hermione with Draco and Ron with Pansy. Hermione goes along with the marriage just to try and dismantle the law and prove it is wrong. She enlists Draco’s support to learn about the magic that supposedly matched them. As they work together, they can feel the power of their magic drawing them closer to each other. But Narcissa has a hidden agenda that throws suspicion on Draco’s motives and threatens the foundation of their tentative relationship.
Ron and Pansy’s story is also cute and it’s nice to have a fic where Ron is not cast as the bad guy.

Its so hard for me to get into multiple pov books but someone on tiktok said this was good found family...it was but i found myself just rushing to get to the draco and hermione parts. Even tho, pansy and ron were interesting...i just wanted to read draco and hermione more. I did live the banter tho. And the party dialogue. All the drama. I ate it up.

It's always an easy 5⭐ read when it's an HGDM fic, but yeah, as always, please do ignore my ratings 😚

It wasn’t my favorite, but something short and sweet (kind of)
