I was incredibly surprised by this book. Having not really loved Christian fiction that I’ve read in the past, this book blew away my expectations.
It is written with a descriptive prose that has just the perfect balance of being enough and not too much; a tightrope that is hard to walk.
Watching Eli’s story unfold felt like watching my own brother or someone I know and love dearly. I felt everything he felt. Perhaps because I am on the other side of where he was at the beginning of the book, I have my floor that he was searching for, but the overwhelming emotion of someone else finding that floor and discovering that stillness was just as real even though I was reading a fictional story.
Let this story speak into your life and if you’re searching for the floor and the stillness and the peace of knowing you don’t have to carry your weight alone, let it help point you in the right direction.
