Wolf Protectors #3

Alpha Protector

Rate this book
Life for Asher Vale hasn't been the easiest. As the future alpha of the Vale clan and the sole protector of Laurel Mason, the family's charge, he has his hands full. And the fact that Laurel is looking for someone to settle down with isn't helping, as her taste in men is terrible, leaving Asher to to do the right thing and boot the sorry suitors out of her life before they can wreck the life of the most wonderful, beautiful woman he's ever known.

Laurel Mason is tired of playing games. Trying to find a mate is hard enough as it is. The last thing she needs is her closest friend and protector, Asher, interfering in her love life. So if Asher won't let her settle down with someone, maybe he'll let Laurel seal the deal with him instead. Even if he is the most frustrating man alive, he's also fun, protective, and hotter than her wildest dreams.

But Asher made a promise years ago, and even if curvy Laurel has always been the only woman in his heart, he knows he can't take her for his own. All he can do is protect her until she finds the right mate. But with Laurel in danger, can Asher really step aside and let any other man protect what is his?

Alpha Protector...

Wolf Protectors... I read this book a while back. A great series. Action, drama, angsty, passionate and plenty of WTF moments.

It’s always been you, Asher. Always.

Things had been close tonight. Way too close. It was the closest Asher had ever been to heaven. Oh those Vale boys! I was completely TKO’d by Asher! I have loved each of the stories in this Wolf Protector series - as I have with every other book of Terry's that I have had the pleasure of reading - but for some reason this one just struck a chord with me! It could be because Laurel is such a strong character who knows what she wants and does everything to make it happen. “Asher Vale, I want you to mate me.” Or maybe it's because of Asher being one helluva sexy Alpha who tries to do the right thing regardless at his personal cost. "He’d promised to protect her like the treasure she was, not take the treasure for himself." It could be that Laurel is such a likeable character that has no interest in "moving up in the world", mating for status. It could also be the fact that Mr. Tough Alpha sees himself as inferior to others, like he is not good enough for Laurel. The strong but broken Alpha type is always sexy! I mean, come on! Who doesn't want to be "The One" who 'fixes' the hottie like that?!? :-) Of course, there is always some great, funny lines & moments with Terry's books. The epilogue had me laughing hysterically! Oh! And I LOVE a series that lets you catch up with past couples and Terry does just that. (Thank you Terry!!) Not too many people can get away with using terms like "fancy pants alpha", or "But you’re just a nobody, a nothing-burger." snicker However, I think the reason I loved this book sooooo much is because there is NO ONE SINGLE REASON!! It is all of those mentioned and so more, much, much more!! Terry has this way with words that draws you right into the story, making you feel like it is YOUR OWN story. You not only can see, hear, taste, smell & feel right along with the characters, but you also feel with them and for them! I think I started crying at about page 25 or so! Yes I am a 'closet' romantic, but there are times that a book or character touches me even deeper, taking me on their emotional roller coaster ride with them and Alpha Protector is that perfect, shining example! That is Terry's Alpha Strength, her Alpha Power is her Phenomenal Gift for storytelling! I cannot wait to read more of Terry's books!! In the meantime, I can occupy my time with reading the books I haven't yet read, and then re-read them over & over again! You can NEVER go wrong with a story written by Terry Bolryder, and this one is a perfect, shining example of just that!

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Asher Vale is the youngest of three brothers and the only purebred alpha. He runs the family dojo and feels like his family only wants him around so he can do stuff for them. He gains a roommate when he makes a pack promise to his oldest brother, Lucas, about keeping Lucas's mate's sister, Laurel, safe. They have grown close while running the dojo together and while he hates the thought of her mating with someone else, Asher doesn't feel worthy enough to mate with her himself, even though he wants to badly, so he decides to help her find the mate she deserves. Laurel has loved Asher for years but decides to try and find a mate since Asher isn't willing, the only problem is that Asher can't seem to stop himself from running all her prospects off. Laurel is in unknown danger when an old friend re-enters Laurel's life and Dane is exactly the type of mate that is worthy of Laurel and can keep her safe. Asher has to decide if he can step aside and let Laurel find happiness with another man or step up and be the type of man that is worthy of Laurel. Another great book by Terry Bolryder!! I enjoyed all three stories about the Vale brothers but Asher's was my favorite. He is the classic strong silent type and all he wants is to make Laurel happy and to make sure she is safe, who wouldn't want a man to love them as much as Asher loves Laurel?

Book 3. Oh, yummy Alpha Protector, Asher, finds Laurel, who he's always wanted. Alpha male with Alpha female is a powerful combination. He hated that he made that "pack promise", and couldn't be with her. Her evil father is working behind the scenes and puts a bounty on her head, so there a lot of guys who want to kidnap her and get the cash. Creepy Dane turns out to be one of them, but he also wants her body, and her money she'll inherit from her father. Lucas explains to Asher, that the "promise" was supposed to bring them together, not keep him away. His answer comes in a phone call, Dane is dead meat, and Lauren needs him. Asher knew something was weird, but sought the answers to his questions. Asher needs to rescue her. He finally tells Lauren of his love, and she agrees to mate him. Their super hot mating sex is elating, uniting, a force of nature, and incredibly meshing. They were in ecstasy, joined and perfect for each other. Terry Bolryder is wonderful writer, with deep characters, interesting tales, and engages your mind for the thrill ride. Highly recommend. ENJOY !!!

I really enjoyed this story! Perhaps it's because we've seen the characters interact in the previous books, a it built up our curiosity. At least for me that is. This was fast paced, sweet, sexy, held some action. I liked that Laurel was tough and fought for what she wanted. I loved Asher's protectiveness and his complete bafflement over how Laurel could possibly want him. It's the ones that don't realize just how amazing they are that make the character even better.

Anyway, this was a really good ending the series.

I usually love this authors work, however this series was just okay for me. It seemed rushed and not as "fleshed out" like others she has wrote. Still an a okay read.

Predictable

I could have told this story myself after reading the first story in the series, Alpha Contender. No surprises here, hence the suspense wasn't that suspenseful. But, Asher got his happy-ever-after. An okay bedtime story.

Fun characters

Fun characters and a decent plot. The story moved well and the characters make you keep reading to find out what crazy situation they are going to get into next.

I think I liked this one the most. It was more put together than the other two of this series. Normally I love Ms. Bolryder's work and hardly ever have issues. This time it seems to be a bit rushed through the series. Some things dont have closure. Some things are touched on but I believe should have been developed more. Liked Asher from Alpha Contender series. I had to go back and read it again since I sorta forgot what he was like a little. LOL. I really felt for him because he's the full alpha out of them and everything was sorta dropped on him all at once. His half brothers resented him for a little bit but they came back but he questions their motives because it seems someone always wants or needs something from him. Being responsible for Laurel all these years gave him something for himself. He's been in love with her the whole time but thinks he's not capable to be with her or give her what she needs that and the pack promise he made. Which lets just say that was a cluster of misconceptions. I thought when that came to light Lucas was very in the right to kick his butt. Laurel's an alpha female and he finds himself lacking. She loves him with all her heart but he refuses to think he can be loved for himself or that she really loves him....stupid male. He's got a low self-esteem if you can believe that. Just to where she is concerned and anyone else like his brothers. He just feels unworthy. Of course he gets a bit of a taste of her and he just can't let her go but he tries really hard. Of course once Lucas gets a hold of him all bets are off and then someone has the gall to take her from him. Its on....his alpha power is still cool! LOL. Sweet story and I enjoyed it. Sad that the other 2 in the series weren't up to par like this one though. :(

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Asher Vale’s protective nature clashes beautifully with Laurel Mason’s independence, setting up a slow-burn romance filled with playful banter, simmering attraction, and genuine care. The story balances moments of humor, suspense, and steamy romance well. Asher’s internal struggle over his promise versus his feelings adds emotional weight. Though it follows a familiar trope of protector and charge, the strong character chemistry and supernatural backdrop keep the story fresh and compelling.

What a winner. You never know what you are going to get with Ms. Bolryder--except a great read--and this is no exception. She can write a light romance with humor, a dangerous situation, and an emotional character study.

I loved reading Asher's story. Left as protector of his sister's-in-law younger sister he has promised to keep her from unworthy alphas. She is a rare female alpha and in demand. After being rescued from her father who had plans to use her for his own political gain, Asher was going to make sure Lauren was protected--even from himself.

It must have been difficult to write the turmoil Asher goes through, I know it was reading it.

The resolution was great and the ending left a perfect picture to ease the emotional pull of this story. Do not miss this. The entire series is another joy in reading from Terry Bolryder. I can't wait for the next as I know it will be a reading gem.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Asher Vale has always felt used his entire life. Everyone only seems to want him for what he can give them and his family is no different. Now ever since rescuing Laurel Mason from her controlling father, Asher has also been assigned the role of protector. But know Laurel is looking to settle and find a mate, and even though Asher thinks he doesn't deserve her and won't break is pack promise, he can't help but watch out for and her unsuitable suitors.

Laurel has known there was something more to her feelings for Asher than just gratitude and puppy love. Since Asher doesn't believe her feelings of love for him are true she will just have to find somebody else to settle down with.

When Laurel is in danger will Asher be able to open his eyes and realize he's the only one who can protect her? Or will old self-doubts keep him from claiming the best thing fate has chosen to give to him?

When Asher and Jordan rescued laurel, Asher made a pact promise to his brother Lucas who was mated to laurel sister Lilly. For the past 4 years he had feelings but could never show because of the pact. Well laurel has had enough she wants more and she feels that Asher isn't attracted to her. Hmm what she doesn't know. So she tries to date other alpha's to try to move on her love for him, but it doesn't work. Great story line. You will laugh get mad at the characters and than laugh again at their shenanigans. Terry is a great writer. I have read every book she has published and has not been disappointed yet. When I get an email from her I get excited knowing another great book is coming out. Read this book you will love.

I have enjoyed all the books in this series but this is my favorite. It is such a sweet romance with a great HEA ending. Asher is the alpha who should feel like he has it all but he doesn't. He feels like no one has ever truly really wanted him so he convinces himself that she deserves better. She really wants him but tries to seek another alpha if he is not interested in being her mate. It takes some serious threats to get them together. It is a great story to end the series. I received a free copy in return for a honest review.

I love Asher

I have been longing for more from Asher since Alpha Contender! While I loved all the Vale brothers he is by far the one I looked forward to the most. This story has so much and it was a perfect blend of all the great qualities as a fan I have come to love from Terry's work. She hit this out the park and you will definitely not be able to put it down or be disappointed with Laurel and Asher's love story! Sometimes you have to make it seen what has always be there for everyone else to see.
Can't wait to see where she takes us next

Worth the wait!!!

I have looked forward to Asher and Laurel story since meeting him during the Alpha Challenge. He is the ultimate bad boy/good boy alpha wolf. He is temperamental and moody. He is also the most lovable and most realistic of the Alpha wolves. His story was everything and more that I could have hoped for. I really hope to see more Alpha stories soon. I still would love FiFi's story, the twins not to mention Thor's brother. A girl can dream.......

Better than the other two. Asher finally got his happy ending. This one was slightly more developed because we know about Asher from the Alpha Challenge and we got to see Laurel grow up in the other books. So I was pleased. That plot device with Dane was silly and the end fight had me LOLing when Dane punched him. HAH! Other than that I enjoyed this a lot and LOVED the epilogue. I just love shifter babies. Hope we get a spin off with them.

Wow, Asher is just so.... I could tell from previous stories their was more to him then what was portrayed and I sadly right. This story allowed us to see Asher and understand him in a way that showed what an amazing alpha male he was and how much he matured especially with previous stories he was in. Laurel is sweet and I liked how their characters were able to build on their relationship, and it was shown throughout the story. Awesome read

Out of all of the books in this series, I can honestly say that I liked this one the best. I just felt the connection between Laurel and Asher the most and it seemed like the least rushed of the series as well. Their love came naturally, although Asher was stubborn in admitting and accepting his feelings, as well as Laurel's for him; everything worked out. This book also did a nice job of wrapping the series up without leaving me hanging.

Alpha Protector (Wolf Protectors, Book 3)

Asher Vale has feelings for one Laurel Mason. He helped Laurel get away from her father before he had her as a winners trophy . W.T.H. is up with that? Asher doesn't act on his feelings for Laurel because of a promise to his brother, Lucas. Enjoy, I did

The 3rd book in THE WOLF PROTECTOR SERIES. Youngest brother, full Alpha Asher has the responsibility of watching over Lily's sister Laurel. He becomes her protector as she falls in love with him. He is fighting his attraction as he misunderstood a pack promise. Of course, he has to save her from a bounty hunter after he realizes his mistake and hopes he's not too late.
