I’m a writer, author, word warrior! I owned an independent bookstore for many years in my 20’s and 30’s. So it should be obvious, I LOVE BOOKS. Fiction or non-fiction it doesn’t matter. I hated self-help but then found Og Mandino. I hated French history and the game of chess and then discovered The Eight by Katherine Neville. I’ve stopped limiting myself to what I think I like.

That brings me to paranormal fiction. It’s a passion of mine. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, zombies, angels and demons, I read them all. I’ve wanted to write a vampire/werewolf novel for a long time. Taking a break from another series (aka Suzie Ivy The Bad Luck Detective), I decided to write the story screaming inside my head. The Fang Chronicles Book I almost wrote itself. No research or trying to remember a specific conversation, all I needed to do was keep the names straight.

Amazing final book for this great series!!

I loved how differently things happened here. Instead of waiting for a new bride, Tarn finds himself captivated by one of his mute human servant. She is special from the very beginning and keep becoming so. I just loved how fearless she is and how Tarn just didn't know what to do with her. Poor dragon!!
The ending is very surprising and full of twists, the characters all coming together to fight against the biggest threat ever.
I would love to read the young dragons' story, Ashrac, Caron, Lex and Jewel

I think this is my favorite book in the series. Lots of twists and turns and unexpected appearances of characters. Not all is sweetness and light and there are quite a few unpleasant situations that occur.

Having undergone chemotherapy myself I don't understand why Pepper's hair never grew back. There are attorneys advertising on television who would be more than happy to sue the chemo company that caused her permanent hair loss. It's lovely that Thar thinks she is more beautiful without the headdress she wears to conceal her lack of hair.

I liked that a lot of the dragons' history was explained in this book. It might have been more timely in one of the earlier volumes as it did help to cement the whole storyline.

Lots of surprises in this book and beliefs that were written in stone are shattered. Loved how everything turned out.

Tahr has just lost his bride. She spent many years with him and even taught the humans how to speak with sign language. Pepper is one she had a soft spot for and constantly spoiled. On her death bed she asked Pepper to watch over Tahr. She not only does just that but it gets to be a bit more when she falls in love with the dragon. Of course he loves her also but as a typical dragon he won’t admit his feelings. But the goddess has other plans for them. This book was definitely one of my favorites in the series.

Fantastic series!

I could not imagine that a dragon shifter book series would entertain me so much as this series has.

As soon as I finish one book, I'm clicking on the next one.

I liked Holly S Roberts books prior to finding out that McClain is over of her alias names.

Highly recommend that you read the books in order to get the maximum enjoyment!

Wonderful!

Never did I think I I would enjoy reading about dragons. However, the author has a way of making you care about the characters and wanting to know what happens to them. I've read the whole series

Best One

I so enjoyed all of the books. But Tahr and pepper was the best story. I really wished the could have all cut off a piece of Drakon together. Make him really suffer. There are more books right?

-- Spoiler alert, if you haven't read the other 3 books ….
then you may want to stop here and read no further. This review contains spoilers.

This is book 4 in the series, and so far, the last book. Will there be more? I hope so, because I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. In this book, we get to the last of the 4 dragons, and now, the only one not mated - Tahr. He feels he will never find his dragon mate, since it was his uncle who set events in motion that started the curse to begin with.

Now one common thread that goes through all the books is the humans who serve the dragons. Now there's an interesting concept that the author has come up with. They are brought into the dragon's realm as children, from earth, because they are very sick to the point of dying. Bringing them into the dragon's realm heals them and takes their voice. They are raised in the dragon's castle and serve him.

But they are servants only, until this book. When one of them aspires to be more than just a servant. She wants to be a dragon. And thus we have our book. It's a wonderful finish to the series, with an awesome ending. There will be surprises for you in this book too. This one is almost the best of the 4, as it has some wonderful moments. But you will want to read the other 3, as they all build upon the other.

If I tell you any more, I'll give too much away. Suffice it to say, this series is not to be missed if you are a fan of paranormal romance.

This forth book in the series will make one laugh and be thankful to have read the books. I was in tears more then once and had to set the book down towards the end and cry like a baby before I could finish. The characters and story line are magnificent. With a depth to them that pulled me into the story. You know it is well done when one has to stop and say wait this is a story not real. The way the story built on the first three and even included characters from her Fang Chronicles was masterfully done. There are unexpected twists and turns that I felt were well done and added to the story. Ms. McClain could not have written a more impressive finish to the series. Is it really finished? I guess we will have to wait, hope and see.

She saved the best part for last

Tarn does not deserve Pepper. He is arrogant, cold and disconnected. But then Pepper is something special. Her special magic is hinted at but never simply revealed. When Tarn has her punished I really thought she was done but she continued to pull her spunk and magic. I think all of the female characters in this series were kick ass chicks that I want to hang out with. This last part was so dense with action, emotionalism and twists that i had to go back and re-read whenever i had to stop for like sleep or my aggravating job. The point is, every time I went back I found nuances and connections that I missed the first time. It's an amazing series that you should totally read!

Good read, I thought we’d see a little more of Sarn and the gang from the human realm. Not sure just what was going on with Korep, or why Dmitri seemed like he couldn’t help them. The mess with Ashrac had me over the top. Why when all the drama was going down was the guys always not around? Seemed a little too convenient for me. I thought at the very least the women would step up to the plate but it seems they were just punching bags until everyone else arrived. Still a good read though.

This book tied up everything for the series quite nicely. As per the other books, the love story was unlike the ones that came before it. I loved that the woman in this book goes from being smitten with the dragon, to outright refusing him! The woman empowerment was awesome. The character didn’t need the dragon, she chose him, and only after he proved himself worthy. But I read romances for the struggle, not the happy ending or sex, so this book was perfect for me!

OMG

That has lost his mate Megan. Before she died she asked Pepper, a human, to watch over him. But Pepper has loved this dragon for a long time. What a story. I think this one has so much more going on than the others. But all the other dragons are also in this storyline.Great series. Read in order. Cannot recommend it enough.

I don't usually start at the end of a series, but the premise intrigued me. It was a surprisingly "can't put it down" book and had a few emotionally intense moments that made me upgrade it to 5 stars.

Yes, I ate all four books in one day. I enjoyed this series THAT much. And this didn't disappoint. It was a good ending to a fast, enjoyable series-- and I was dying to see what Tahr got for his comeuppance.

Perfect ending

Through all the twists and turns in this series this book was by far the best. Pepper proves to be a true model of what a person should be like and thar learns his lessons the hard way. The death of a child does indeed bring a new open eyed look at life

A satisfying conclusion

I titled my review "a satisfying conclusion ." It is and it isn't . In terms of finishing this particular story arc and answering many of the questions or quandries posed in the first three books it certainly is. Better than I would have expected, in fact. In terms of introducing the reader to an interesting world with engaging characters and then leaving us hanging, it most definitely is not. Personally , I think that there are a lot more stories to tell about this wonderful universe of dragons, shifters, vampires and the rest (hint). I would love to read a story about Ashrac at college, for instance. It would also be fun to find out how the other young ones fair in a post curse world.
